Worst thing to come to this hobby there the reason why these mom and pop shops can't get product in there stores not to mention breakers get loaded boxes from company's just to promote there product which is not even that good
@@djspinoffdjspinoff1941 , I can give you all kinds of examples of ripping packs doesn't make sense economically. Take Topps chrome platinum anniversary. It would take 5-6 hobby boxes if you are lucky to make a set. It is at least $700 to buy those hobby boxes. Also Topps flagship would cost over $400 to build that set. You must be new to collecting because pre 2000 all cards were base. I love the base and would be willing to take it off anybody's hands if they didn't want it. I have resorted to buying collated sets. It saves a lot of money, but has taken the joy out of collecting.
@@HerculesMatthews ,I have stuck to Topps flagship to build, but update, I will buy it completed. Then much like you, I put together insert sets and sets like holiday and big league.
Mental, surely there’s some sort of copyright infringement too with Who wants to be a millionaire. Modern cards and breaking is properly going down the toilet.
The odds of getting even close to your money back on a break or just buying a pack is less than 10%. Why does it have to be traditional breaking? People will purchase what they like let the market decide.
Watch a “We the Hobby” break on fanatics or whatnot. They literally have slot machine images and sounds going off as cards come out of the products. It’s so cringe
It’s all a scam! And why don’t Fanatics Collect or Whatnot care?? Because these breakers are raking in the $$$$ and they are getting their cut from it, so they have no issue with it. Re-packers show a “floor” and “ceiling” and essentially have one big card, a couple mid tiered cards and a lot of junk and get away with it because the “average” justifies the prices. And let’s not forget mystery bags or boxes, it’s all the same premise.
Fanatics Live has Fanatics Sports book so this kind of thing is in line with their ultimate intent. They want to convert these customers to their sports book and going after kids chasing paw patrol cards. It’s sick and ugly.
The contracts for online breakers include language that hits are property of Fanatics after being hit by a customer. My guess down the road that is updated as they want to make breaks for those 21 and above, and breakers don't own any products they're ripping. Only doing it as a dealer and will be in states that allow online gambling.
I have no interest in the breakers or who buys into them. But, it will be better for the hobby when they finally all go broke! In time, this breaking nonsense will be a thing of the past!
I like full case player breaks. For the price of 1 card, you have the chance to hit multiple. And usually, the player break prices are much more reasonable. Still a big risk though!!
yea pizza puills are scammish, they had zero success till this style of breaks, FYI even fantics was endorsing it, in the first few streams of this fanatics reps(hunteratfanaticslive ) were in chat cheering and endorsing this. On another note this style is considered gambling in canada. Lmk sure I can locate the video, but it the first time they had this style, pretty disappointing fanatics reps were endorsing behavior like that. ALso you have others breakers trying to implement these same style now into there breaks, typically the less favorable breakers.
i dont think this is true- their whatnot account shows almost 100k sales and i dont think they started the games until recently- arent they all into coding or something??
Fanatics = The Hobby Anti-Christ. New games like this tell me Breaking is Hurting so they are reinventing the wheel. Something new for a bit then change the games ...... This is merely following the history of Grifting in the Hobby. Fanatics doesn't give a rats butt to anyone but their grift. The cost of boxes are so expensive that these carnival barkers will become more and more driving whatever is left to the "Hobby" right down the drain ......flush twice it's a long way from a box of 1972 Topps in 1972!
the whole industry is screwed. the best way to collect now is just collect whatever you feel like collecting. there is no such thing as a good or bad investment anymore. fanatics sucks, influencers are crap and breakers are scammers most of the time .
I got one for you. Steel City is doing 2024 WNBA Select random pack breaks. For $94.95 you can buy a pack and have it opened. Not a random team break or random color. Random pack.
I will say before I assume the inflated cost of break could have included the added games. Now if it's a straight buy a spot to gamble, I agree with you on this style. So many good people in breaking, group subs, LCS, shows, dealers and collectors. I wish the positive stuff on this topic would move the needle like the shady stuff does.
😂 yeah I feel like 90% of that stuff is a scam. They’re either weighing boxes packs or scanning them. 😮 kind of upset that they’re able to buy up all the cards and make the prices high now.
The boom brought in online gamblers that think they're going to make tons of cash doing it. The thing is, they have no way to hedge like those who place huge bets. That's the thing not being talked about when they post a 200,000 bet. It's not possible to do it with breaks, and a lot of people will be going broke more and more with this shit. These same people were buying "stacks" and not having a clue what they were getting. Would watch and hear, "Give me 20 of the 50 stack." Prices will just go up and hit chances decline as they produce more and more shit. I'm ok with it also because I will be setting up at shows ball low balling these idiots. So they can keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. I paid a guy 1500 bucks for a collection he easily could've sold on eBay for 75k+. He spent 2500 the day before on wax, but it was a divorce or cards. He ended up going to jail for writing 100÷/- bad checks to a card shop and a liquor store. I made it right with the card shop after selling a bunch of memorabilia I didn't want. They were going to have to shut down over him, I loved the dad way too much to let that happen. That's all these people buying in are going to do, and that's going broke.
Sooner or later state and federal gambling boards are going to notice this. You legally can't have a 50/50 raffle or bingo night for charities in some states without going through the state for a permit. This is going to be like Fandual and Draftkings all over again. Also don't forget, breaking like this allows kids to gamble which is illegal in all 50 states.
The clip you used is more akin to a Pull-Game or Mystery Gameshow than regular card-breaks as long as people know what they're spending their money on its fine, the scammers will get called out & people will stop giving them $$$
They don’t wanna break traditionally, 1 because they don’t wanna loose money ( well don’t be a breaker there is risk for both parties) and 2 they wanna be the first who created some new something that will blow up to capitalize from it… think that’s my opinion
U should see the clip I got of a guy on my what not. Has 85 envelopes. Second buy hits. He says it’s not the ceiling but I don’t know what it is. Lies. There’s only four chasers. He then goes from 3 to 79 without a hit. And says I feel bad for the chat. I’ll add a chaser. And takes the box off camera. Out of view for like five minutes. Then comes back and says I added a chaser. lol.
"feels bad for the chat", that's along the lines of "I appreciate you".... People will fall for scams like this guy is doing, because the word chaser means money and that's all they care about
I hope you got a future video down the pipeline as Panini filed suit over Fanatics for monopolize the baseball card industry. If they sue Fanatics, they may as well sue the league and the PA.
We DO need regulation. At the very least Panini should he publishing pack odds! Why are people anti-regulation? It makes no sense, it would make the industry much better.
Those over-engineered reveal boxes he was using scream scam as well. It looks like a cheap magicians prop where depending on where you grab, it opens on a different card inside. There are so many more legit and simple ways to do it, that it makes me think it must be a scam.
You get what you pay for. Buyers be aware. I use whatnot daily, and do pretty well on my breaks....after spending 2 hours or so filtering out the over priced grifters, carnival auctioneer attitudes, and lazy and uniformed breakers with crud on their fingers. NEVER just jump in. Do some math, and find a fun stream...then flip your profits respectfully.
I'll just sit here with my popcorn while the patients run the loonie bin. The world is in a sad place and the crooks are coming out of the woodwork for their share of the criminal Koolaid.
Pizza pulls is ridiculous. I uave watched there stuff. They alwaus jave crazy games. Is it gambling yea. Is it entertainment oh yea. Will i buy from them. NO. Plain and simple. If u buy into breaks(i do) cool deal. If not cool deal. Ita not for everyone. Getting skunked blows. And as far as the collecting side. I currently have 2 rainbows from topps cosmic chrome. For around 100 each. So singles are alive ajd well. Breaking is buy at your own risk. But so is buying a 450 dollar box and getting squat. So buy the product how you choose. As far as casino breakers, they sre terrible
Omg why why, dont people kno we live to gamble in the USA, we have a whole dam state dedicated to gambling, u could pretty much gamble in any of the states, and regulations what a joke, your in a different country wouldn't regulations be different for u, people love this type of stuff, its only gonna get bigger, hobby always changing get used to it
Down fall of this industry? 😂😂😂😂 I buy singles and I’m happy as hell no one’s gonna ruin this hobby for me and I’ve been collecting over 20 years never been disappointed the problem is y’all fake investors be trying to get rich of this hobby 🤡🫵🏽
Breakers have driven up the cost of collecting. In my eyes collecting cards have become a scam, especially for set collectors.
Worst thing to come to this hobby there the reason why these mom and pop shops can't get product in there stores not to mention breakers get loaded boxes from company's just to promote there product which is not even that good
Nobody wants base cards. Set collectors aren’t hurt by anything 🤣🤣🤣

I still collect lowend sets and sell 50 Cent to a dollar cards …. I know we’re old-school, but hopefully somebody keeps the hobby going.
@@HerculesMatthews ,I have stuck to Topps flagship to build, but update, I will buy it completed. Then much like you, I put together insert sets and sets like holiday and big league.
Regulation is needed. I've said it before, the hobby used to police itself. Now it wants to embrace every grifter and conman that pops up.
Mental, surely there’s some sort of copyright infringement too with Who wants to be a millionaire.
Modern cards and breaking is properly going down the toilet.
This stuff is amazing. It's fun to sit on the sidelines and watch the insanity of this industry.
WTF is even happening in this "break?" Has zero to do with sports cards! This "hobby" gets more bizarre by the week.
lol when you figure it out let me know
It's unregulated gambling, it's illegal. There will be huge lawsuits coming the way of whatnot and fanatics.
Wouldn't the "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" music be a violation of copyright?
Would’ve assumed so
The odds of getting even close to your money back on a break or just buying a pack is less than 10%. Why does it have to be traditional breaking? People will purchase what they like let the market decide.
I cant tell anymore if im watchers breakers, sports bettors, or a game show. This "hobby" has become a joke.

The breaking bubble is going to pop and I can’t wait.
This is absolutely ridiculous. I cant believe fanatics would allow this.

Wow, that was disgusting. The cheesy casino sound effects and all! Unbelievable that this is what the hobby is now.
Just seems unnecessary

Supposed to be a game show type feel, but yeah it totally sucks. Trading cards and gambling seem to go hand in hand now.
not seem they ARE
I got one for you.
Steel City is doing 2024 WNBA Select random pack breaks. For $94.95 you can buy a pack and have it opened.
Not a random team break or random color. Random pack.
Is there duck races involved 😂
ive called them out everytime ive seen them.
why are they/fanatics not being sued for stealing the music from who wants to be a millionaire????.
I totally agree that the gambling aspect is not a good look for the hobby.
Love it when people say breaking isn’t gambling😂
What people should do is invest in Will Grier, and wait to get rich like me...Still waiting... it's gonna happen!
One day..... A patient person will eventually be rewarded in due time 😁
I endorse lord will grier
The hobby has been fueled by unregulated gambling for years now. I will only come back when this becomes regulated

Basically a repack following the three card monte approach
that second level was strange on how he layer out the boxes, kind of like he knew the order to lay them out.

“Who wants to be a millionaire “ theme music. They should sue😆
Everything is so wrong about this. There is no way to tell if the boxes all contain a bust out at some point or vice versa
It’s just so unnecessary
They could be in trouble for using the soundbite music from " WHO WANT TO BE A MILLIONAIRE " - Disney company might not like that.

The example you show is definitely gambling, it's not a "break" by any means.
Whatnot is the exact same

The only thing I will be buying is singles I have no faith in breaks or boxes
Fanatics need to stop this cheap shit shots

Unregulated gambling, weeeeeeeeeee
just look what happened to online poker... and that you could at least argue took some skill and wasnt pure chance
Wtf, mate. 🎰

What are the shots at Mike Gio? Seems like you just do not like him.

Hey Dan, you into the 2lazy2try, redbar radio, comedy enforcement scene? You , sports card radio , etc seem oddly similar in spirit...
No?
