It doesn't matter how old you are RC racing is fun. A friend of mine has dirt oval track and a big group of us have 2wd slashes and race. We also have an outdoor offroad track LCRC and a indoor turf track within a few miles of me. Its a fun little hobby. These cars are so adjustable its unreal.

When I don't have a camera gimbal handy I use an old trucker coffee drinking trick; hold your elbow level with or above your hand. This effectively turns your whole arm into a gimbal.
I'm a team associated guy. I have a lot of them I haven't touched in years. I had a lot of fun racing them things,wrenching on.I got good,my truck better,everybody quit. My FM futaba radio was out of date then.I was a Gasser guy too. These brushless motors,are faster than nitro methane now. I hope you get to dig,if that many cars turn out,it be worth throughing your name in the hat. Good luck,God bless
Those motors can be built to the tilt. My buddy builds those motors all the time, he gets around 8-10hp out of them. Change port timing and squish and they start to come alive. He has one in a off shore style boat and the thing freaking moves. All his motors have sweet tuned expansion chambers!
great little truck you have in the DBLX, I love mine only thing I replace on a regular basis is the boots on the rear axle shafts. They need a guard to stop the stones of the front wheels from beating them up.
Love it, when I got into the rc truck game I had 2 nitro powered vehicles. I had a 4x4 buggy and 4x4 tmaxx, both fun but electric is alot easier and less tuning. Now I have 5 electric trucks/ cars! Haha cant wait to see the track!!
Billys brushless electrics will blow that big Losey after water they’re cool but they’re not really that fast but if we know anything about the old man he’ll tune it up and make it really fast. I love these old videos.
I'm calling you out now old man😁. I have the same 1/5th scale Losi except mine is electric. The electric is where it's at these days with the r/c's. I might have to leave Michigan and head to Ohio one of these days to show you what's what. When I seen the video where you used to be into nitro r/c's years ago I knew it was only a matter of time before we would see you back into the hobby. Those etc cars a more a blast. Those low speed electric crawlers are fun too. Fun to have in the winter, if you have somewhere to build a small crawling course indoors in the heat, it’s a good way to keep a hobby when it’s too cold to go outside. Had a losi night crawler for years. Endless fun

I use the balance beads on the bias ply super swampers on the mud truck, work great for what I love since the bias like to not stay so round after you park em and mud n bent rims? no problem hah Drive it to and from the trails 45 minutes away @ 110 km np, have never had any tires balanced for it or any problems, did 16 ounces of beads in each tire, for a 35" Hope this works for you guys too!
You remind me a lot of myself!!! Where probably about the same age. I m in to anything with a motor on it. And that includes RC cars I go away back with them when I was 18 years old and younger.. The original RC10 and JRX 2 lozi.. And I thought those were Hi Tech now I just bought myself a 4 wheel drive traxxas slash.. Not that I needed the damn thing I've only ran at 1 time in about a year... I'm also 47 years old and still think I'm a kid I guess.. Keep up the good work with the channel I wish I had the brass ball's to start one like you did.. I'm in construction in the old body just can't do it anymore

When there new they get assembly lube and stuff contaminating the clutch bell. If your remove itand clean it with brake clean(declorinated) and the give it a cross hatch , like a cylinder wall. It will grab better. If you need any help or advice hit me . Brapppp!

When I was a kid we used to pay for on track time with our slot cars down at the bowling ally. You could do the same with a track. Have competitions where prizes are awarded and so on. You have the land so this could become a profitable venture.

Good luck. Decent 1/8 tracks are about 200’x200’. 1/10 scale tracks are generally the same courses with shorter landing ramps in between the 1/8 jumps. Dedicated 1/10 is generally 100’x125’ish
