Why do so many non Catholics love to criticize our faith? I was not raised to criticize other faiths. The communion of saints is a great gift. Reading about their spiritual gifts and deep love for Jesus in the eucharist has helped me on my own spiritual path and has only deepened my love for Christ and the true Church He started with Peter. Our faith is very biblical!!!!! Every Mass we read directly from the Bible!!!
We have the true presence of Christ in the eucharist. Read the book Eucharistic miracles! We are able to be in heaven with Jesus and the angels at each and every mass! No other religion can offer that. What a gift. Someone told me protestants really are catholic. They just don't realize it. This catholic church has prevailed for over 2000 years and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.
    Matthew 16:17-19.
    THAT IS BIBLICAL!!!
Each criticism of the Catholic church only makes me love it more!
My dad said the catholic church is a bunch of sinners trying to be saints.
It is THE TRUTH and way to salvation.

Because much of what they believe is simply a rejection of Catholicism. Martin Luther and others spent a lot of time rejecting what the Church taught and that rejection amongst their followers continues today.

Katie Ann / Hello, I have been guilty of this myself, so I believe that qualifies me to give an account. I did so, in ignorance of all of the different rituals and the names of said rituals and secondly, all that I really knew was from TV and what I had heard others say. I never took the time to understand in the knowledge of the Catholic faith and practices, and if it was not for Gods Holy Spirit leading me to Bishop Robert Barron, I don’t know if I would have ever listened to anyone about it, because it was boring and hard to understand and my mind was already made up that it really was wrong and off base. I am so glad to have found bishop Barron’s, “The Word on Fire” series on UA-cam, he is so easy to hear and he is very relatable for me and I love his zeal for his own Faith. I have learned so much from him about the catholic faith that I now thank God for it and I am currently looking for a Catholic Church in my little small town. I am a Christian and I love my faith and moreover I love God and His Church/His Bride, I now understand that if it wasn’t for the catholic faith I would not have a Christian faith/Hope, because it was the catholic faith that carried the torch for the duration of the past few millennials and it was a catholic priest that nailed his (Martin Luther) 95 theses to the churches door, there at Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany in 1517 on October 31. My whole point is that I believe that most (like I) have done this great injustice in pure ignorance and on my behalf and there’s, I would love to take this opportunity to apologize to you and the whole of The Catholic Church and Faith. May God our Father richly bless you all in our journey of love in faith and our common desire to evangelize the whole human race to The Glory of Our Lord and Savor, Jesus Christ.

Bishop Barron is a brilliant teacher! He displays a deep understand of the rich tradition of learning out of which he comes. He is at his best when like the great Catholic thinkers before him, Thomas Merton in particular, he doesn’t treat his faith like a collection of doctrinal precepts or pious cliches. Instead he debunks statements like “Jesus Is Lord” by asking very pointedly, “really.” It reminded me of Jordan Peterson finally coming clean on whether or not he is a Christian and his response in the negative, no. Many Christians would stop listening in that moment and dismiss him as an unbeliever. If you continue to listen you would hear that not only is a he a believer but he answers Bishop Barron’s question honestly and directly. “I wouldn’t presume to call myself a Christian based on some of the choices I routinely make in my life that are not christocentric”. I have resisted calling myself a Christian mainly for reasons that are doctrinal. I don’t buy the Trinity or the Resurrection. I think salvation history with its insistence on victimhood is a pernicious worldview and I think arguments around Mary and the virgin birth are a silly waste of brain cells. I also think my focus on doctrine and dogma and faith in and fidelity to either is my most sinful act, sinful as in missing the point here. I am not a Christian because I have not centred my life in Christ and therefore my life does not display the integritas, consonentia et claritas from Thomas Aquinas that Bishop Barron expounded on. You could accuse me of being a Christian but I’m afraid there would not be enough evidence to convict me.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:06 🌟 Christianity in its earliest days was described as a way of life centered on Jesus, consisting of three basic paths: finding the center, recognizing one's sinfulness, and realizing life is not about oneself.
03:05 🌹 Finding the center means grounding your life in Christ, analogous to the magnificent Rose window in Notre Dame Cathedral where Jesus is the central figure, bringing harmony to all other elements.
14:11 📚 The story of Martha and Mary teaches the importance of choosing the one necessary thing, which is to order one's life to Christ and find the center amidst the distractions of the world.
18:27 🎡 Living on the rim of the Wheel of Fortune, which represents life's ups and downs, leads to anxiety, while living in the center, anchored in Christ, allows for indifference and peace amid life's fluctuations.
25:38 🎼 John Lennon's song "Watching the Wheels" can be interpreted as a reflection on finding peace by no longer riding the merry-go-round of life's fortunes and instead observing life's cycles from a centered perspective.
27:59 ⛪ Embrace the breakthrough of grace that enables you to see what's off-kilter in your life. It's the light that reveals your sinfulness, like in the story of John Newton's "Amazing Grace."
30:28 💧 Jesus offers living water, welling up to eternal life. Like the woman at the well, we often seek fulfillment in worldly pursuits but remain thirsty. Only by filling our souls with God can we find lasting satisfaction.
34:19 🌪️ Pursuing wealth, pleasure, power, and honor can be frustrating and lead to addiction. These worldly desires can never satisfy our infinite hunger for God.
37:41 🔥 False worship of worldly desires is like the priests of Baal hopping around empty altars. It's a self-destructive frenzy that leads to spiritual emptiness.
42:24 🌍 Realize that your life is not about you; it's about being part of something greater. Your life is connected to your family, tribe, history, and a higher spiritual order. Surrender to God's plan and discover your true self.
44:13 🎭 Shift from the "ego drama" (self-centered life) to the "theo drama" (God-centered life). Live for the one audience that truly matters - God. Your life's purpose is to find and fulfill God's will.
52:28 🙏 Understand that everything that happens to you is, in some sense, the will of God, whether directly or indirectly. Embrace this perspective and cooperate with what God has in store for you.

Three things that do not lead to holiness: (1) preaching that we have a reasonable hope that all will be saved, (2) calling Martin Luther, the man who said we could sin with impunity and still be saved and who accused Jesus of fornication, a "mystic of grace", and (3) telling Jews that they don't need Jesus to be saved.

A person can't be a saint by their own merits. We are made holy through Christ that heavenly gift called Sanctifying Grace in which we are made a saint.
The Church can recognize a person as a Saint by their virtuous deeds but there are many people unrecognized as saints because they didn't stick out amongst people but they still are joined with God in Heaven through Christ.

A saint is not an appointed office! It means those that are sanctified by CHRIST as being saved by him!

It means SANCTIFIED OR MADE HOLY.

We received a new nature by union with the Holy Spirit of God and this union allow us by obedience to Jesus, to grow in LOVE, (see 1 Corinthians 13), God gives us a starting point “ see parable of the talents” we need to work to grow spiritually and produce the Fruit of the Holy Spirit”

And before anyone has to say it, that goal can only be achieved through God by orienting myself to God, so no, I'm not saying "all about her at the expense of God" but, rather, "all about her BECAUSE of God, because He loved her first, and He loves her best!"

I had a Franciscan Friar in a psychology class in 1973 describe the same thing using the image of an old fashion wooden wheel...the hub was the center & all the spokes radiating out from it were parts of our lives...values, attitudes, lifestyle, world...he used the example of Christ as the hub & to become an integrated person all the spokes were the things Christ's life was about...it is like what St. Paul sez...it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me...this priest was called Fr.AQ...real name Fr. Aquinas Thomas...even though he was a Franciscan & not a Dominican....his patron saint was Thomas Aquinas & he probably was as smart as AQ was...

I started seeing the halos around and on priests during Mass, during the Consecration almost exclusively, when I was a young 13 year old cradle Catholic, attending Sunday masses with Mom and Dad in the Philippines @ St John’s Cathedral, and I still see them to this day. Around that age I also began hearing voices, many many voices in torment, screaming and wailing in the stillness of the night in my room in the city I was born and raised in (Bacolod City). I never spoke about it to anyone, not even to my parents. God bless and keep their soul.

I like 👍🏽 the checking of the watch exactly in the middle of this 😁 ...
I would love to see religious leaders and others move past this word “crazy”, as it’s a pejorative or maybe oversimple term for more complex emotion.
Yet, the bit about indifference and apathy ... being separated from the emotions binding us to the wheel of fortune and clinging to Christ was worded succinctly and is a comforting thought.
In these busy days I do appreciate brevity intermingled with wisdom!
As a person who has a mental health diagnosis there might be some triggers that show up but perhaps I make too much of them and I can take to heart 💜 what Bishop Barron says about not becoming attached to trying so very hard to climb to the top on my own. Cracks me up to hear Catholic Theologians talk. They always speak "around" things, not "to" things because they don't have a relationship with Christ. Catholicism is a religious cult and Jesus doesn't have anything to do with it. All true followers of Christ know that it is a false religion based on man's traditions and that many of its teachings and doctrines are straight from the pit of hell. I feel sorry for anyone who believes anything a Catholic priest or bishop says because it shows you don't really know what the Bible actually teaches. It also shows you don't have an intimate relationship with Jesus, my Savior! Instead of listening to it again, read your bible so you'll know the truth.

Though I am Pentecostal I like his messages. Generally we r taught to love heathens and we do so. But we neglect loving our fellow brethren such as catholics and vice versa. As apostle Paul points out before loving outsiders we ought to first love fellow brothers inside the church. Then only we r called real Christians. What is the use if u r willing to love outsiders but ignore insiders So prefer fellow brethren rather than heathens.
