The woman introducing the Bishop gives a message which is the antithesis of the true Christian message. She divides rather than unifies, and hates rather than loves. There is no place for this, particularly as an into to Bishop Barron and the Mass, where believers (one body, one faith) are called into selfless unity, loving God above all, and our neighbors as ourselves. Jesus said they will know us (true followers of Christ) by our love.

I would love to have heard a bit about the Holy Spirit and its central role in our gathering at Mass, our prompting to listen and respond, to whorship and adore. Our disposition, fellow Christians, is then important for the Holy Spirit to act in us and through us. Therefore, come to Mass that great celebration with a humble self and contrite heart; be partakers of that wonderful Mystery. We tend to forget or we don't emphasize enough the crucial role of the Holy Spirit in the Mystery of the Mass. The Holy Spirit that God the Father and God the Son sent to us so that we are not left as orphans. What do you want? said Jesus, what are you looking for? Build your relationship with God the Trinity! As Christians, we know that God is attentive to us. Come to Him whether broken, as a sinner, or ill with trust in Him, reverence for Him, and most of all love for Him. God said it Himself at least 100 times in the Bible I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU. That's Good News for all of us! Go to Mass therefore for during Mass you live and share that Good News, you are equipped with God's Peace and Word to bring forth that Good News to others outside the Church. This was a beautiful presentation of the Mass. I hope to share it with my husband and my adult children. I hope that those who seemed so distracted by the announcer were able to recollect themselves and hear Bishop Barron.
Why did she find it necessary to interject her introduction with such a humiliating and insensitive comments that did not have anything to do with anything? Her lack of taste and her vicious words are so inappropriate and degrading especially introducing a respectable man such as Bishop Robert Baron. Her personal lack of protocol and her own low and thoughtless attitude really say a lot about her. Any act is an act of self definition as any speech is a speech of self definition. This talk could be compared to be invited to a banquet and being given the starter and the dessert but no main course. The Mass is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the re-presentation of Christ’s sacrifice of atonement on Calvary. There was no mention of that anywhere in this talk.
