Man...where were you years back when I was trying to get hammer claw down and obsessed with Willy Watsons version 😂 seriously though, you're doing a HUGE service to beginners, intermediates as well as advanced practitioners by pacing this out and walking it through in its original pattern and key. On behalf of frustrated pickers everywhere, thank you sir 😊
I really appreciate comments like this. Generally what I try to do is make the videos that would be useful to me. And it seems to work for others too! Glad you got in touch! 😊😊
Sounds like Cumberland Gap tuning is like Sawmill but with the fifth string tuned down a whole tone from G to F. Very cool. I'm learning a lot from your channel. You taught me Cluck Ole Hen at the beginning of the week. 🪕
any chance of a tab on this one? the one on unquiet grave has really helped me to pick up the tune. P.S. the link to the tab in the description of your unquiet grave video may be broken, the one in the comments works fine.
Great stuff. Last time I said I hadn't forgotten. This time I had. I'm away from home for a while, but I'll do my best. It really does help me to cement my own learning!
Just had a look for a tab to start from and foujnd two which oretty much do the job - Here www.hangoutstorage.com/banjohangout.org/storage/tabs/h/tab-hills-of-mexico-24476-555917682020.pdf and here - www.ballardbanjers.com/uploads/1/0/9/5/10957532/the_hills_of_mexico_clawhammer.pdf Both in fDGCD tuning and both pretty much what I'm doing....... Hope they help.
Thanks, glad you like it, and I hope it helps. The banjo is a Vega tubaphone 10" with a short scale neck built from Yew and Apple wood. I really like this one! Neck was made in London by John Deller.
appreciate the walkthrough videos covering some of my favourites. have you heard this? trying to work out how to play it. ua-cam.com/video/FngnEP_RKQg/v-deo.html
I've not come across Gwenifer before. It looks to be in Sawmill tuning, but it'll take me some time to work out...... I followed her on Instagram now. Thanks for tip off!
Thanks so much for sharing. Your teaching skills are so easy to follow.
Thanks for letting me know, I love hearing from people who learn from my videos. ☺️☺️☺️☺️
