Marcus, the fact that you can cause so much emotion in GH fans is proof of what a great actor you are! Remember, nobody hates you they hate Nicholas. Be proud of your ability to move people.
Two awesome actors. Maurice I've watched since you arrived in Port Charles. Bot of you the best male actors on the show by the way. I've always thought Paula is soooo lucky to have you as her husband. And vice versa. Thank you both
GH kept me going through the pandemic. It has been a constant in my life since the 70s. Something to look forward to…an escape from the world. Thank you guys for putting your heart and soul into your craft. ❤
Marcus Coloma is an incredible actor and person. It must not be easy to portray Nikolas in such difficult storylines and be the complete opposite person in real life which is why I give Marcus sooo much respect for doing it so well. He’s really become one of my favorite actors on GH! This interview is my favorite State of Mind and I can also understand why Marcus and Maurice are great friends too because positive energy and good souls always find and gravitate to each other! I’m hoping there will be a part 3? ❤️❤️❤️
Social media wasnt around when Sonny came on - I will tell you we all loved Sonny - He was the bad guy you loved but didnt want to and later he became the gangster with a heart. You created that 👏🏻
Vanessa Marcil is a wonderful actress!! Nobody but her can ever play the role of Brenda. She’s unique in her own way. GH writers got it right when you were paired with Vanessa. Please have her on State of Mind soon! Love you and Marcus. You both are just so real. Instead of Netflix people , catch up on all the SOM’s . Your world will be a brighter place to live in❤️
This was really great! Marcus, I'm so happy you found GH and you and Maurice were put in each other's paths. It was meant to be. It's hard to get old and find people we trust so when we find it we need to hold onto it. Keep killing it as our beloved Nikolas. And Maurice, don't stop anything you are doing! 😍😁
I love the dialogue taking place in this conversation. I would have loved (and needed) for the education system to, yes, help me be well rounded in the typical studies, but also guide me in exploring and developing my strengths and interests. One of the side things I appreciate about this channel is realizing how the actors have been so good at portraying their naughty characters, that we come not be very fond of them. Then we come on here and see a little of what the actors are like. I really like Marcus Coloma.
Thank you Marcus and Maurice for a great conversation. It’s so interesting to me to learn new things about people you admire. Love you both on GH, God Bless you both ❤🥰
I enjoyed this dialogue. You are both so down to earth. I have new respect for you both. I will really miss Marcus Coloma as Nickolas Cassidine on General Hospital
That's right, Maurice!! My whole attitude toward Sonny changed the day he walked into that room above Kelly's and Brenda was sitting on the bed. The chemistry was wild and wonderful. My all time favorite soap couple and love story!! ❤️
Thank you so much for addressing mental health. I for one have narcolepsy and suffer many times from people labeling me as lazy. They don't know about what narcolepsy is nor do they care to find out. Narcolepsy is debilitating and many narcoleptic commit suicide. So I thank you.
You both are awesome actors and have amazing chemistry when working together and off camera too!! You guys are so funny 😂 too when I'm watching you on other platforms.. I imagine it's so hard sometimes separating yourself from your characters on GH because of how much emotions you put in the character. There will always be haters that don't like your storylines, but fans need to remember that it's a soap opera, not real life!! I'm also glad that you're such a real person and excepted Paula and rescued her from that environment. I've been watching you on GH since you started that role as Sonny.. no one else can play this role as well as you can!!
Maurice, after hearing you talk about your wife, and her youth, and how the two of you ended up together, yours and Paula’s life story would make a beautiful movie. Your story would show the trials, despair, mental illness, and love..and finally a union that would inspire others.
Hi Maurice and Marcus I'm so happy for you both to be back two of my favourite Maurice you have done such and amazing work with Mental health this is an extremely important platform you have really helped and helping so !any people out there with your wisdom experience of what you've been through with the love of Paula and your kid's grandbabies you will forever be blessed Continue with this beautiful platform really needed💕🙏
One word for this interview - beautiful. I love your friendship. Even more, I love your Paula! Her story made me cry. 💔No matter how often I get an attitude because of your position on the Nina story, as a human being, you have the very rare gift of true heart and caring. That's hard for many of us in life. Bravo and please have Marcus return! Best wishes for continuing this important conversation.
Thank you Maurice and Marcus for being so open and sharing life experiences and talking over life choices and challenges for both you guys … it just goes to show you have to follow your dreams & follow your heart in order to find yourself and the perfect spot in all of life’s facets . Love both you guys !!! Thanks so much for sharing !!!❤️❤️
Marcus it’s wonderful to hear your story from gh you need to get someone to interview you next and Marcus Coloma asked you some beautiful questions keep up the amazing work.
It’s so tough to be in a high stress job. I worked in a neonatal ICU for almost all my adult life and I understand the stress involved in working a job. And I do get it how you feel your career can be messed up with an error. I know the feeling well. But your fans love you and we all must remember that’s not who you are (reel vs real)in the story. It’s hard working in a high stress job also being Neuro divergent, it does make you question everything but that’s good. Sometimes things that can make a baby calm are things that I have used to calm myself when irritated or irritable like a nice hug or a heavy blanket or being swaddled. Seeing that I can utilize similar things to be calm in my work, makes the day or my story better. Thank you both for sharing your story.
I loved how you guys just talked about your different experiences in life even the hard ones and you delved into more of your early life with Paula. And loved how Marcus opened up more. Your talk was happy, painful, and exciting. Keep up the good work.
Maurice and Marcus. This was a most enjoyable exchange of your life experiences. I have watched your friendship and trust grow. I felt like I was with friends sitting in my living room. The life lessons you both shared will help many. Just GREAT!! Te aprecio mucho. Tu' IMPORTAS

it’s so funny that Marcus mentioned that he wanted to be a pirate as a kid. The first time I ever saw him on General Hospital, that’s exactly what I thought of: a cute pirate lost on land!😄
Great conversation flow I just wanted it to keep going on longer. Cause love of you Maurice, but love Marcus from day one when he stepped in to play the role of Nickolos. He filled those shoes well, great actor.
Thank you Maurice such a wonderful chat ! God bless you for caring so much for everyone! You are amazing!!! You have helped me more than any words can say!Love ya! 😍

I wasn’t able to watch live on Sunday , But this was amazingly real , I just love state of mind . Thank you for sharing your stories it makes a difference in my life to hear I’m not the only one who has mental illness.
This was a great interview! I could listen to you two all day. I have been watching GH since I was 7 (I'm 43 now) I remember running to my house in HS to catch Sonny and Brenda. I have always loved Sonny and Marcus is my favorite Nicholas.. 😍 You are amazing actors and people. I enjoy watching you both. I am always laughing. 🤗🥰
Maurice Barnard! This is one of your best interviews ever! I love u with Nicholas Casadine ❤️ State of mind of the chain! Keep up the good work! I love you!! God bless 🙏
Really love the honesty and easy going conversations with you two.Surely helped me feel "normal" as I have anxiety and under control with medication.Everyone has their stories and sharing them with us is very appreciated 🙂❤️🥰
This was such a great discussion! One of the best. Appreciate the insight into your profession, the show and the vulnerability you both displayed to educate everyone about another layer of mental health issues. Keep up the great work, as well as this type of "behind the scenes" detail. Sooooo love it! If you can bring other entertainers, sports figures as pairs to have similar dialogue together, I can only imagine how far you can take SOM!
Oh wow!!! Just wow!!! This just is way over the top amazingly interesting. You both had had very different, and even tough times in your lives. But you are both so freaking awesome now. This is so worth watching over and over. Much love ❤️❤️😍😍🙌🏼🙌🏼
Luv him! I’ve been watching GH since before Nikolas. I loved Tyler Christopher and it was so hard to adjust to a new Nikolas but, he grew on me. I just watched yesterday’s episode and Spencer said “ U can’t possibly sink and lower.” I’m shaking my head so my daughter came in my room b said “ what did Nikolas do now?” I told her what Spencer said n I said “ Spencer should have known to never think that’s the lowest thing that anyone in that family can do.” Lol, he has truly made this character his own. He’s amazing!
My take Maurice on why someone would say no to SOM is they may be a private person who doesn’t want to appear vulnerable or feel cornered. The Army taught me to never feel intimidated when I was asked to get in front of a podium because I was actually teaching the soldiers in front of me. They were there to collect the knowledge I was presenting. It helped. Also please Marcus do not panic just yet about age. You have accomplished more than most haves in their 50’s etc. I let it get into my head awhile back when I turned 60 and became a widow that damn I have less years to live if I make it to 100. That thought is gone. Also some think money buys happiness. No. It’s generally short lived. Beautiful talk again today.
It's so important to get to a place where you care more about yourself and what YOUR doing and how YOU are conducting your life (regardless of what career path your on) than what other's think or their opinions or whatever. I think as we age and go through piles and piles of shit we finally get to the "I don't give a rats ass what people think of me anymore" phase of our lives. Because in the end we all just have to live with ourselves ya know??
Maurice, I don’t know about anyone else but I remember you in your very first episode! Karen Wexler walked in and you were eyeing her by the stripper stage from afar. I loved your character right from the very beginning and your character really became EXTRA great when we learned you were connected with Frank Smith AND THE MOB! That was a whole lot of fun. I don’t understand anyone who didn’t like you from the beginning because I sure did! Thank you for many years of fun!
I subscribe to your channel and look forward to it each week. You are the coolest guy! So glad you bring awareness to mental health issues. I've learned so much from it. I have struggled with anxiety, panic attacks and depression since I was a kid. To see and hear about yours and others experiences with mental health is eye opening and I don't feel alone in this world. But, on the other side- LOVE interviews with GH stars, since I'm a loyal, long time fan of the show. Whether like today with Marcus just chatting about different things or ones with mental health issues- I really like it. Thanks for this podcast! You rock! 🤗
I remember when they first paired (Marcus) Nickolas with Ava. Honestly, just keeping it real I thought Ava was too old for Nickolas. But then they really grew on me. Ava is a fantastic actor. However (Marcus) Nickolas had me on the edge of my seat.
Brenda and Sonny ~~~one of the best love stories of all time!!! Hmmm might be a good time for her to come back to GH….. Maybe with Jax 😉. This was a great interview with Marcus
Just watched this, excellent @MauriceBenard. When I was in grade school a bully called my little brother a cripple (we're only 10 mos apart, he was born with cerebral palsy), our Mom called us her Irish twins. I waited until I got off of the school bus, hid behind the school bus doors (they opened out back then), when he stepped off, I punched him in the face! Being a girl, he gave me a bloody lip, I gave him a bloody nose. He had called him a cripple multiple times, and I told him to stop, but he didn't! I stayed with the principal all day in her office. She drug him by his ear down the hall by his ear, he was expelled, but I couldn't stop crying. But the principal called me a hero. Still to this day I advocate for the underdog.
I love this so much. I have been watching GH for all those storylines that were mentioned but here's one thing, even when Sonny was "bad" I still loved the character. It is Maurice's acting that makes the character so interesting. Nobody else could play Sonny the way Maurice does. There are certain characters that are made for some actors. I loved/love Tyler Christopher but I also love Marcus Coloma. He has done a great job with Nicolas. Usually I welcome any actor that steps in to play a role that someone else made popular but for me the exception was Jason. I think both Maurice and Marcus are doing a great job with both of their Characters. I enjoy watching you you both on GH.
Awesome Interview Love Marcus He's Amazing And Very Handsome I Love What You Do Maurice You're Really Helping Me With These Videos So Keep Them Coming God Bless You
Marcus is a great Nikolas. It is really nice to se the actor as himself. Stories are flying today about his leaving GH. What ever is going on, we wish him the very best, and it is a big loss to GH and to the GH fans.
Marcus, the fact that you can cause so much emotion in GH fans is proof of what a great actor you are! Remember, nobody hates you they hate Nicholas. Be proud of your ability to move people.
Completely agree.

I remember when they first paired (Marcus) Nickolas with Ava. Honestly, just keeping it real I thought Ava was too old for Nickolas. But then they really grew on me. Ava is a fantastic actor. However (Marcus) Nickolas had me on the edge of my seat.
CORINTHOS and Nicholas Casadine. Hanging out!!! Awesome!!🤙🤙👍
Love u2 Do Great Actors off screen n on screen love this interveiw of state of mind great❤😊
Brenda and Sonny ~~~one of the best love stories of all time!!!
I never heard this about Paula, she had a life of challenges. 🥰
Yeah
I loved this conversation! So many great topics discussed.
I enjoy watching you you both on GH.
miss him on GH! Loved him as Nik!

Marcus is a great Nikolas. It is really nice to se the actor as himself.
Stories are flying today about his leaving GH. What ever is going on, we wish him the very best, and it is a big loss to GH and to the GH fans.
