    Hey Ross, thanks for the video, always informative. I am curious, how did you execute 200 shares and have it go through. Even with a margin at $400 with a 4:1 that’s only $1600, when 200 shares at $9.87 is $1800?

      I think I must have had the full 6x leverage on my account, which surprises me, but I've heard CMEG is inconsistent with how they enforce margin, so that may be it.

    Hey. I’m a beginner. Love this video. Makes perfect since especially beginning with a low amount. Is there a way to begin and start turning with beginning with $100 to invest. I realized two weeks ago I had opened a app I had got a free stock that was at $127. I sold on then took $111 of that and bought a stock that was being heavily watched. I kept up with the news about this stock and sold gaining about $60 but it drove me crazy just watching it for a week not knowing how to set margins like I’m seeing in this video.....if setting margins is the right term. Decided while it was up to sell and try and get better educated on it before going further. Is it possible to begin with a $100-$200?

    Hey Ross, great video! How were you able to avoid the PDT rule?

    • @DaytradeWarrior
      @DaytradeWarrior  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Tony, As you know the United States has what's called the Pattern Day Trader (PDT) Rule. That means you need a minimum of $25,000 cash balance in your broker account in order to day trade more than 3x in a 5 day period. Since most traders take 3-5 trades per day, they are considered Pattern Day Traders. Many of our new students don't have $25k. There are brokers that are based off shore that do not adhere to the PDT rule such as Trade Zero (non-US only) and CME Group. You can learn more here: www.warriortrading.com/pattern-day-trader-definition/ , www.warriortrading.com/how-to-day-trade-without-25k/ , and here ua-cam.com/video/CDPxDCMHM10/v-deo.html
      You can open a brokerage with as little as $500 at some places. For the rebate program, TradeZero (Non-U.S. students only) requires a minimum of $1000 to qualify for rebate and Lightspeed required $25,000. But there are brokers that require only $500 to open an account, such as CME Group.
      You can learn more here: www.warriortrading.com/tradezero-broker-rebate-program/ and here: www.warriortrading.com/cmeg-broker-rebate-program/

    Seeing you trade live is a little overwhelming for someone just starting out. It brings up so many questions for me :P
    But mostly:
    1. Are there alternatives to Sterling that work similarly but don't cost as much? Could you come up with a free or low budget setup to substitute all of this software? Sure it says 2 weeks free trial for Sterling but as far as I could find it's 100+$ of subscription cost per month after that and starting out with 500€, no experience and low expectations makes that look like a steep price to pay, especially if I'd first have to learn how to understand everything that's going on on your screen and how to use it.
    2. I assume anything much slower than this is sort of pointless or at least makes trading profitably more difficult? I live in Germany and have been looking at brokers in Germany or at least the EU but on most of the sites I haven't seen a lot of information about hotkeys or software that comes even close to the speed and amount of information that you see there.

    • @DaytradeWarrior
      @DaytradeWarrior  4 роки тому +1

      1. If you are planning to use CMEG, Sterling or DAS are the only options and they both have a monthly fee.
      2. It's definitely recommend that you sign up with a fast broker like CMEG or Lightspeed as execution speeds can be tough for day trading at other brokers

    A few confusing things here and maybe its the platform you are using. First - How do spend $1000 with a $400 account? Most platforms you dont get margin until after $2000. Second - How are you day trading with $400-500? The biggest downside of a small account is PDT. In this example you used 2 day trades and would be done for the week after 1 more. I know its old vid and im late to it but just wanted to ask anyway lol

I understand that you want to be sure to enter the trade even if it means 'losing 5 cents' but can you just set 'Shift+1' as 'buy on the ask' without '+5 cents'? Hi Ross.. great return on a less than perfect stock.. On my end I did not trade today on my small account... here is why: 1) I thought that DRIO was too risky, mainly due to its spread between 0.11 and 0.15 cents (this is high on my list of must meet criteria) - risky 2) Too few shares to buy with $500 - low returns 3) Price was on the upper end of the $10 limit. - low return 4) with 200 shares I would be using almost 100% of my buying power - risky 5) I need to make more than 10 cents which I was a stretch, looking at it from my point of view, I thought I did good! I'll wait for a better set up tomorrow! Trade the best, leave the rest!

I broke all my rules, was frustrated with Trsdezero technical issues, missed the move, was pissed off I missed out, traded impulsively with several hundred shares and got hit by the huge fake out and $2 flush. Went from being $180 green to $1k red!! My account went from $1,900 to $900 and I’ll start tomorrow with $800 after fees get taken out. Hey David, As you know the United States has what's called the Pattern Day Trader (PDT) Rule. That means you need a minimum of $25,000 cash balance in your broker account in order to day trade more than 3x in a 5 day period. Since most traders take 3-5 trades per day, they are considered Pattern Day Traders. You can see some examples and in-depth explanation here: www.warriortrading.com/pattern-day-trader-rule/ and here ua-cam.com/video/CDPxDCMHM10/v-deo.html
      Many of our new students don't have $25k. You can open a brokerage with as little as $500 at some places. Offshore brokerage CME Group is one of these brokers. TradeZero (non-U.S. students only, not eligible for Canadian students) requires a minimum of $1,000 to qualify for our rebate program ( www.warriortrading.com/tradezero-broker-rebate-program/ ) and Lightspeed requires $25,000 ( www.warriortrading.com/lightspeed-broker-rebate-program/ ). And of course, you have the option of a cash account at a US brokerage! Here's a helpful place to go to explore your options further: www.warriortrading.com/how-to-day-trade-without-25k/

    I'm new and confused I thought there was only $500 in the account? If so how come 200 shares was bought at $9.87 a share. That comes out to $1974? I'm super curious and I love watching all the film!

    • @DaytradeWarrior
      @DaytradeWarrior  2 роки тому

      Ross was using leverage, as the $500 account comes with $2000 in buying power

    Hi Ross, if you decide to jump so quickly into Stock, do you fill with market order or limit order? And vice versa while sellling partial - these are all market orders?

    My issue is the pattern day trader rule. I’ve been caught a couple times holding a stock I’m unable to sell without being flagged. Such a frustrating thing to watch your profits go down the drain unable to sell.

    How are you buying selling buying selling with only 395?? You aren't doing day trading because you would have already hit PDT RULE. WTF is going on?

    • @DaytradeWarrior
      @DaytradeWarrior  4 роки тому

      As you know the United States has what's called the Pattern Day Trader (PDT) Rule.
      I hope that makes more sense!

      Lightspeed Rebate Program: www.warriortrading.com/lightspeed-broker-rebate-program/

    I love this video. I watched it twice. Its should be shared and published on all "how to day trade" textbooks. The selection, execution, explanation, absolutely well explained. The only one thing it didn't show is the "sell at the ask" part : was that preset with a hot key button? The platform is Lightspeed? One thing to notice: The speed of this trade was fast, I'm sure it takes lot of practice to acquire that speed. Thank you Ross for teaching us.

      I am using CMEG as my broker, as for the selling on the ask hotkey, it is a limit order to sell on the ask with a -.01 offset.
