- A follow up to my video about shuffling methods, this one goes through how to do the "riffle shuffle" or "casino" shuffle with your tarot cards. I hope I"m able to do the process justice. This is a tough one to teach!

Was currently unsatisfied because i still couldn't riffle shuffle my tarot card's, altough i know the basic technic(well kinda🤣). Thought: "Well why not look it up?" Turns out: My tarot cards (i currently use "The Light Seers Tarot") are almost impossible to riffle shuffle😅! Tried it out with the "The Power of Surrender Cards" and it worked almost right away! Thank you so much for this straight forward tutorial😁❤

Ahh Light Seers is a BEAUTY of a deck but' I'd agree, a riffle shuffle nightmare! I'll have to look up the Power of Surrender cards - I'm not familiar with those. Abd agree with you that once you pair the method with the right deck - it's a match made in heaven and SO SATISFYING! You'll forever be able to enjoy it. It can, that's for certain. Card decks with plastic finish are pretty sturdy though for those of us who love a good riffle shuffle;) but I buy backups for decks just in case.

So relieved to see people mix their tarot cards any way! The beginner book I'm reading said absolutely no fancy "poker" shuffling, but it's all I know! And if we're trying to put our energy into thr cards and connect them to us, we should shuffle them how we feel connects us with the cards.
I'm curious about your card cutting though, how did you do it so perfectly for each card? The gilded tarot cards I got in my set are huge, way too big for my hands. Would love to make them smaller at least cut out the border, love how your cards' art goes all the way to the edge of the card
Yes please shuffle as you LOVE. our connection to the process and our channel is the most important part of divining in my opinion. The "rules" made up by others along the way are simply not valid if they don't work for us. Sure riffle shuffling can be hard on cards but gosh I LOVE the weathered look to my favorite decks!
As for the borderectomy... I highly recommend a guillotine style paper cutter for the edges, a corner rounder for the perfect corners... AND most importantly patience and resilience. Ultimately the deck will never feel machine manufactured again, there will be slight imperfections but they are so slight that you'll get to a place where you love your altered deck. I highly recommend it for decks that you can replace! I did it on Robert Place's Vampire Tarot and had NO IDEA that would end up being not only out if print but incredibly hard to find and really coveted by collectors. Oh well... I love mine with no borders & blood red edges!
@@GlindasGuidance In my opinion, over time it makes them easier to use, which probably only helps with the connection and the whole process. I know overhand helps with the flying cards so I'm trying to learn it, but I'll probably always start with a good riffle. Although, I can't do the 2nd half of it 😅 every time I try whqt you're doing, it just pushes the cards together anyway. Maybe mine are too slippery still.
And I think I'd rather have them all be imperfect than just one! I noticed my Fool had a rugged bottom when I first opened my deck, but it's so bad I can look at my pile of cards along the edges and find the Fool every time! I think if I cut the edges of them it will help blend the Fool back in... I just don't want one card that keeps popping out to mess with my readings and connection to the cards, but maybe cutting them will help me connect to each card too. Might have to look into this...
@@deandraalexis the Bridge us the hardest part of the shuffle. Of course if your cards are too rigid and stuck then they won't format the Bridge well. I can do it with moat decks unless they are the thick cardstock, especially with rose petal finish... those go nowhere. My least favorite to shuffle... though they are really beautiful to admire & soft to the touch.
One card that is visibly different than the others would definitely bother me... I'd chop. At least that way you'll likely have all cards unique in some way, thus making them hard to detect.

Admittedly I'm a bit of a Hermit when. It comes to social media these days. I'm glad you found me. I have new decks coming out all the time. I just released the Wonderland lenormand & getting ready to release the Alice in Tarotland tarot & the Queen of Hearts edition of the Wonderland lenormand. You are too sweet! Thank you! I have been in "creative" mode over here, designing decks and exploring tarot from that new perspective. I actually have lots of videos that I've been contemplating posting for quite some time and just don't seem to get around to it - they're all at a beginner level though - such as reading reversals - reading the Celtic Cross, etc.. I LOVE the Hermetic Tarot - GAH - such a beautiful deck. I love the suggestions of deeper insights... perhaps, if the mood strikes me I'll grab a more layered deck and do some reading with it.
Plus mad bonus points to you for clicking your heels! That makes my heart SING!
Would you recommend doing a riffle shuffle on the light seers deck ? I’ve just ordered it and don’t mind if they look worn out because I also think it gives them character.
Hi Angie! Is this the mass market version? If so, I have the Muse Tarot (the sister deck she created at the same time) in the mass market version and though it's a little "thick"/ "bulky" to begin with it DOES shuffle using the riffle beautifully. It's a VERY resilient card stock and keeps its shape beautifully. They are a bit glossy so I think that will wear over time but, I agree with you that the process of loving a deck and having the wear and tear show gives it brilliant character!!
@@GlindasGuidance yes it’s the mass market stock, I tried with some of my poker cards but they weren’t the best quality so I’ll probably get a newer deck of poker cards to try with beforehand. Thank you for your help 💜
@@angiecats5298 the Light seers will feel a bit rigid at first. Harder to riffle shuffle than playing cards. But... do t be afraid to put a bit of muscle/bend into the process... the cards tick is "snappy" & should come right back. If you find it's too stiff & cards are falling all over... try again & pit more pressure into the bend. It'll get there!! Regular playing cards are awesome to practice with. Especially because they're easily replaceable!! Let me know how it goes.

Covid has had us home in a teenie apartment making it very difficult to do videos undisturbed ( I used to have that nice quiet alone time to concentrate). I hope with things opening up that is going to change!
