I really like that Atsushi isn't an overconfident MC next to Dazai. It's refreshing to see an anime, where the characters have realistic struggles through their story. Many people argue that Atsushi didn't move on and be annoyed by this. But there are situations in your life where your pychological diseases and problems trigger and come back in intense situations. It's only natural to waver and to fear being cut down by this beast of a man while you can't even see his slashes.
