S1/E5; Goodbye Amsterdam! What's behind these doors??

  • ENGLISH (Nederlands hieronder):
Despite the fact that in 1975 the IJsselmeer was split into the IJsselmeer (1.100 km2) and the Markermeer (700 km2), the region itself is still the largest fresh water lake MADE BY MAN in western Europe. The downside is that it is only 3.5m to 5.5 (in the traffic lane) deep, causing seasickness in a minute the moment you face a strong breeze. Let's see if this is the case this time. Goodbye Amsterdam! What is behind these doors??
Be sure to watch to the end for more of the usual comical sailing guy.
I hope you enjoy this one, leave me a comment (I would love to hear from you) and as always, thank you for your support - much love to you all

Hahahaha, nevertheless I like to go out and explore and in The Netherlands you then have to go to sea. A place where everything moves, as you (perhaps already) saw in the vdo in "NW6".
I have a gimbal for my camera, but at that moment I could not find the word as you saw.

Hello Henk-Jan, since a couple of weeks i am also member of your prescription of your travels. And these travels bring a lot of memories of my adventures on the waters of the Netherlands. The first time i crossed the IJsselmeer was in 1964, when i was canoing through our nice country. Our boat was too tiny for that big lake, so we asked a skipper of a German barge if he could take us with him. So he did, and we started early in the evening. The pilot decided to stop south of the Noord-Oostpolder, because the weather became too bad. Too much water came in the ship, it was too dangerous. The next morning it became better and we went to Harlingen, and there started our trip in Friesland. Man, after 6 weeks in the canoe we were strong. Unbelievable.

Hey my friend, dont get too frustrated looking for the correct English word. Im just tickled pink you do these in English. Dutch is a bear of a language. While I managed to get a little French and German under my belt I only managed a word or two of Dutch. One thing I always did though no matter what country I was in was to thank whomever very much for speaking my Language to me in THEIR country. It was always appreciated and especially to those who allowed me to try my knowledge of their language and just slaughter it!!

Also singlehanded with a sailing cutter. in 2021 I wanted to cross the channel just to grab fish and chips and back, but due to C19 regulations (10-14 days in Q in a HOUSE, not on your own boat) was a little bit to much for just one bite F&C. ;-)
