I used keto dieting and exercise to lose 150 lbs. I did so much reading about what I was doing to my body at the time. And I'm a data geek, so I tracked my weight daily, just before bed and right upon waking up to see how things would change when I got good sleep.
Through your channel, I've learned that some of the things I have been doing are beneficial to me without realizing how they were. Thinks like working out first thing in the morning, slightly dehydrated. Or after my workouts, taking a hot shower and then switching it to cold. Also several times a week when I was training, I used a sauna.
I'm making a huge push to get more fit and your channel has been fantastic for providing nuance about these physical adaptations. I'm loving it and finding it really helpful. Thanks man!

just 3 additional addons here, (1) sauna for at least 20 minutes at 180F (2) no drinking water during those 20 minutes after sure (3) cool down with cold water increases dopamine receptor/release.

My mother's grandmother (Aiti), who immigrated from Finland, built herself a little sauna on her farm in Minnesota. Mom said every evening, Aiti would gather wood to build a fire so she could take a sauna bath. It was not only a great way to rid the body of toxins, it was time to herself.
    Well, three things I learned:
    1) Don't enter the sauna all sweaty and dirty. Take a shower first.
    2) Finns prefer to be nude, though a towel for modesty is fine. Think about it -- you don't wear your gym clothes in the shower or tub; this is just another form of bathing. Swimsuits are a definite no because the chlorinated water evaporates into the air.
    3) Finns will lightly beat themselves with a little "broom" fashioned out of leafy twigs tied together. No, they're not masochists. It helps to stimulate blood circulation.

Although I was limited on the time I had that day I ran for about 20 minutes between 6.5 and 8.2 staying near the higher side and when I got off I was like hmm. Maybe the title of this video should be benefits of a sauna that you should already be aware of. I'm surprised that anyone would go through the process without knowing why we're doing it.
For those who haven't done their research here are a few of the benefits.
SAUNAS IMPROVE OVERALL HEALTH, WELLNESS AND PERFORMANCE. ...
    IMPROVES HEART HEALTH. ...
SAUNAS AID IN RECOVERY AFTER EXERCISE. ...
    SAUNAS FLUSH TOXINS. ...
    IMPROVE BRAIN HEALTH. ...
    SAUNAS RELIEVE STRESS. ...
SAUNAS INDUCE A DEEPER SLEEP. ...
    SAUNAS HELP FIGHT ILLNESS.
Fir brevity I have avoided the use of science to support the benefits listed, but I'm happy to do so if anyone needs it.

The real sauna is amazing, but these moderately warm rooms here with temperatures around 100F if you're lucky? Might as well go outside and sit on the porch in the summer.
