Could a pipe leak result in a leak from steering shaft inside the cab? I had a slow leak that I just topped off for over a year, only going through 1 quart the whole time. Then decided I should get it fixed. My mechanic said it was a very small leak in the rack & pinion and started going about replacing it. But they said there was rust and they were worried about removing it and not being able to put it back. So decided to put stop leak in it and refill. A week or so later I had to add a whole quart. I got a different brand stop leak which seemed to work for about a month. Then leaked out again, this time some of it inside the cabin.
I have almost similar issue the pipe is stuck inside the rack, it rotates no problem but wont pull out. Tried heating it but thats not working at all. Please help
