Pro tip for older cars. The reason the first blades that come on a car work so well is, when they install them at the factory they run a heat gun over them. The heat gun is like the one you would use to take up floor tiles. If you put new ones on and have a heat gun, just run it over the new ones after installation for a second or two

My 93 Chevy G20 van uses the old school pin style blades. Pop them off with a small flat blade screwdriver, then snap the new blade in place. No muss, no fuss.

Thanks for showing it, my 17 explorer has the same type of blades and i was wondering how to replace them,,why do they have to make it so hard?

Nice! I have to do this on multiple fleet vehicles. Our parts department orders in the Napa branded ones that has similar multiple adapters (don't remember which line off the top of my head). Good example on how to change out the adapters these types of wiper blades, especially for those that are not as mechanically inclined. Have a good one!

We have transit vans for work. They are going throught the drivesahft recall. We can get $20 in wipers, $20 in accesories and $20 misc besides gas. But you can't find a gas stion that sells stuff like that or knows how to put in the code for that with the fleet card.
We do tell the service company to replace the blades they order trico blades and it takes a few days??
Not to mention we have MP15Ac EMD train engines idling and puffing away. Some oil comes past the piston on the cylinder's and then you have oil spots all over your car so the first wipe is oily!

I work for AutoZone, and yeah our wiper blades are pretty good. You want the best I'd say Bosch Icons, but I personally run the Duralast Flex blades and they're beams not hybrids like the aeros so you get that good windshield hugging curve. Personally, I think rain-x blades are over hyped and I've had more than one customer complain to me about how after the rain-x liquid or gel or whatever they put on the blades runs out, they streak like hell after about 6 months and I've had the same issues with them from before I worked for a parts store. Bosch's are pretty good in general with the Icons up top like I mentioned before, and their snow driver line is popular in the winter up here in the frozen north.

For noise on windshield, clean it regularly, then clean it with rubbing alchohol (car off, no smoke). Then take NuFinish car polish from aisle 6, and put it on the window coat it. when it hazes dry, use a fresh microfiber cloth and wipe off. No noise! I bought goodyears and they are i think to dry, but it might be the wax from the car wash.
i just want to thank you for that I just stopped and bought the midgrade like you said. The 16a fits my rear wiper with a perfect swish! I am so happy. Good Beers are in the circular file!
The rain x fell apart while i drove, im so glad autozone took care of me it was in a downpoor, i pulled in and they gave me a replacement. the rubber was walking out!

Gotta save money by doing it myself when brake services cost so much 😂🤣

The motorcraft ones we carry fit, they just have to have the clip labeled C installed on top to fill in the slop of the original adaptor.

Even tho modern wiper systems are very durable it's important to stick with a good reputable blade such as these. Some oversize winter or double-blades drastically increase frictional resistance wearing out the wiper motor or even transmission prematurely. On many cars the replacement parts with labor can turn into some money real quick. Myself I always got good performance from ANCOs.

I've been installing the Aero blades on cars for almost 4 years now & I'm not a fan due to the fact I get customers complaining about them streaking. I personally prefer Bosch Icons.

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  3 роки тому +1

I get that everybody in this comments section can prefer something that I'm not showing the point behind this video is there's other options and it's not really to entice people to tell me so much about what they like which fine that's great is it going to make a difference to me no it's not but I'll read your comment it's more along the lines of showing people how to get them off showing people what works and explaining the situation on not always having them in stock so there's other options and I've never had a single problem with these I've never had a customer complain about them streaking and I'm a dealer so the volume of trans is coming into my dealership is much greater than any independent shop so my experience with these have been pretty good

I didn't know duralast made wiper blades. I guess it's something AutoZone keeps on the back. My car uses the side peg set-up which is ok but you must use the special beam wiper blades with the right thickness top for the side peg to slide into or they just clunk around and bang around lol. I got me a set of rainx silicone blades and sofar they've been great. Been over a year since I changed them. I will say they weren't cheap though

What do you think of mechanics telling people who watch them to never buy certain cars and to basically say that they are all trash? I feel like it discourages buying used and working on your own stuff to upkeep your vehicle. An example is this ua-cam.com/video/g5KxRIqDcds/v-deo.html

I have been comparing the Ford Transit with the Chevy Express and I can't make up my mind. The Ford is a lot more expensive and I don't necessarily need a taller roof, but you can get all wheel drive in the Ford Does the AWD use the same type of unit they use on the explorers, etc.? Have you or your coworkers seen a lot of issues with the Transit?

    • @FordBossMe

The lower floor height of the Ford Transit gives it an edge. Plus you have different lengths, heights, and dually option. Ford also has the ability to service tall and long vans usually. -The big issue with Mercedes vans (can't service them at many MB dealers)

Stay away from the rainx blades. They work good for a couple months then they are junk. Wifes suv had them and somehow they left a super sticky film on the window. Spent the better part of an hour scrubbing that crap off.
