This was Dragon Ball Z equivalent of bemani(japanese for musical game) in the US during the early 2000s. 6th mix came, then 7 then maxx, then taiko master, then the dj games and then American companies released stuff like guitar hero. 5th mix started it all. 3rd mix probably has the superior playlist but the machine was hard to find in the USA. Almost every arcade had at least one 5th mix machine by 2002. Good memories.
Could be time constraints. considering DDR5th was the first to introduce the song wheel and improved interface quality. Not to mention Naoki did mention that the development of 5thmix was rocky and he was allegedly overworked that time. @@jasonmartinez5116
