My buddy, Todd Fox and I had a lot of fun making this and I hope y'all enjoy watching it. From the Waymore's Liquor Store website: "James D. Jennings and his wife, Helen, acquired the gas station located on the corner of Hall Ave and East Waylon Jennings Boulevard in Littlefield, Texas in 1971. James worked as a mechanic for many years until they converted it into a liquor store in 2005 with a drive thru where the shop bays once were. They also added a room to honor and display objects and information about James’ older brother, singer, songwriter, and iconic musician, Waylon Jennings. It’s a one of a kind Waylon Jennings Museum. T-shirts, hats, music, and stickers are available to purchase. If James is around, he will gladly tell stories and history of his famous brother and many more wonderful stories. It stands as a museum today, named after Waylon’s nickname, Waymore. According to James, the actual origin of his nickname is mostly unknown." waymoresliquorstore.com/
Before the auctions happened, Waylon had a sale in the early 90s online. I was lucky enough to purchase the number 23 Stage Right Rd. case, that was used for carrying the guitar stands and the mic stands that they used for micing amps during the 1970s and 80s. I was also lucky enough to get three of the guitar stands.
I really enjoyed this. I'm unable to get around, so videos like this are my way of seeing places I'd love to visit. My Dad tried to buy one of those stand up photos that a record shop owner had mounted to the glass pane in the front door of his store. It was a bit faded and water stained, but he knew I'd love it. The guy wouldn't sell, which I don't blame him. The shop is long gone now, but it's cool that records are making a bit of a comeback. Most of the vinyl I own are Waylon, and they have plenty of mileage on them though I take pretty good care of them. Thanks for stirring up some memories, Otis.
Love Waylon. Interesting lady, cool memorabilia. I saw Waylon open for Willie at Red Rocks (Colorado) in the mid seventies. Waylon and band wrung out the audience like a sponge, Willie, who was great, played to a somnolent crowd after pummeled by Waylon and his outlaws. Great memories. Thanks brother you're appreciated.
I’m beyond thrilled to see this. I talked to James for three hours at the store back in 2019. Still have a can of Lonestar i bought from him, along with a shirt
Great interview with Helen, Otis 😁❤️! I don’t have any Waylon memorabilia … but I do have Waylon, himself 😎🎸❤️🤠! In a way, of course - I live exactly a mile from where Ol’. Waymore is “parked” 😎 - City of Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona 🙂❤️! I get over and visit Waylon every now and again - was there on June 15 this year (his birthday) 😁❤️!
Excellent! I remember our bus going through Littlefield on a tour with Steve Holy and taking a picture of the water tower that proudly declared it as Waylon's hometown.

This is a very cool video, Otis and Todd. Love the memorabilia and the way its been preserved with love and care. keep up the good work.
This is so rad. I marked this place on google maps for next time I drive through Texas.
I loved Waylon Jennings and I miss you
Wow he is missed so much but his music lives on in all of us
Otis is in West Texas - hope over to Clovis to see Norman Petty Studios and then venture down to the hometown of Roy Orbison in Wink
My wife and I were on a motorcycle trip in 2015 and stopped at the museum. Waylon’s brother gave us a tour and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
First concert I ever went to was Waylon and Willie at Littlefield when I was probably 9 or 10 years old!

Is James still alive? I live 6 hours from Littlefield in Texas. It’s on my bucket list to visit there at least once.
I was there a year ago (November’22) and he was alive and well. Lovely guy - we talked for over an hour.
@@raymondclark1458 Thanks for that, I plan to go there this winter.
I loved this
Pure West Tx right there!
Was at the first show and the one with Willie

I think she said that Bob Lilly was a cousin of his? That's really something.
