The only max reward that's worth it to me personally is the extra character elixir since that's the only way to get more after purchasing one, but it still doesn't sit right with me the option to just buy it again for normal price isnt there, instead of essentially having to spend 100$ to get a new character spot on the same account.

The only way I could ever see anything like this working without being a predatory mess, is if this event was running year-round. Sure, 80k crowns in a year? Lot of people do that with all the new crowns stuff and... deals... they throw out. I personally don't spend that much in a year EVER on this game myself. But 80k in a week? That is insane.
i’m so glad you’re speaking up about this! i was so tantalized when i saw the imp bumper car perm but couldn’t get over the fact that almost NO other real incentives were offered? i’ve seen so many of these rewards events where actually exclusive gear has been offered as well as hoard / lore packs, but this one is outright predatory! hoping ki redoes the event with ACTUAL good rewards, but i have little faith 🙃
I want to say this which may or may not end up being true but the prismatic cat and winter owl mounts were featured in an SOF 2 years before they got perm versions just in the crown shop and the 80,0000c swan boat was a crown reward exclusive before it came to the crown shop for a measly 4,000c a year or two later. The imp bumper car might eventually come back in a more affordable way if you can just hold out. It might not though so it's really more of a "can i wait for this?" "if it never comes back will i cry" kinda thing
It's just difficult to understand how KI, a well established company, can continue to make such blatantly avoidable blunders. Players understand that KI is a for profit company and they need to make money to keep the game going, but this feels like a slap in the face instead of a reward for doing the very thing KI needs players to do. Spend actual money on the game.

Does anyone remember back in 2018 of November, I think it was the first ever crowns reward event that offered the infamous $700 Night Dragon mount after spending a whopping 550,000 crowns!?! When I saw this I knew KI was just pure scum. I still enjoy the game don't get me wrong but man this company is something else. What's crazy is some of the lower tiers, for example tier 4 was offering 2 1 hour double pet xp elixirs after spending 8,800 crowns. I think that's an awesome bonus! Nothing too weak and nothing too strong. They also offered double gardening elixirs and whatnot. I hate crowns events because I do sometimes fall victim to them.
As a f2p player, I used the little crowns I have saved up to buy the aerial jungle from empyrea, and got an energy elixir on top of that. To me, it's relatively ok. 2k crowns for a farming location and an energy elixir on top of that. However, anything else seems so not worth it.
Glad to say. I will not be buying. And I pray no one else does. My biggest concern is that they will start putting permanent scroll of fortune Mounts behind paywalls moving forward after this one.
This was a really great video as always! I definitely agree with having an open dialogue about this topic. Clearly at the end of the day, both sides, KI and gamers, want the game to be successful, so that starts with having in game features we can all be proud of! Hopefully this event will be a lesson learned for KI during the coming winter holiday season.

im a whale i spend about 100k crowns a month helping friends and randoms with wishlist stuff and packs occasionally, i dont think this event is worth in the slightest

I was going to spend a ton of crowns on packs to get the Sinbad gauntlet so I was waiting for a crown event to trigger. The crown events are a total scam but it just was a mediocre bonus to crowns already being spent. I totally agree with you that this is predatory and needs to change, but it's KI, so I won't get my hopes up. Great video!
I love the idea of the crown rewards because I’m not going to say no to free bonus stuff but this crowns reward should have more exclusive stuff, I usually splurge on crowns during Halloween and Christmas so getting some stuff while splurging for stuff but I do agree with the scrolls of fortune perm mounts should be in the crown shop. im a veteran player and ever since they added the hoard packs the game has went downhill in the sense of how crown items are prices and how " exclusive" gear is handled. Most of w101s profit isnt from the memberships, its clearly the hoard packs and all this new attempts with the crown bundles and now crown reward event things. I play other games and tbh the battle passes give much more rewarding items than w101 does and it kinda pisses me off a little. I hate to see how the game i grew up with and spent over 5k hours on over the years just to shit on its playerbase with shitty items that end up costing the player basically 60 bucks for nothing. Someone at KI needs to revaluate items and how each are given out etc because this is just sad to see. If they argue that there isnt many items they can give out then why not just keep creating more and new cosmetic that seem worth while? You have had amulets that gave off effects since like AGES...why not expand upon that so the player can have cool effects? The teleport effects were a good step in the right direction until of course..they lock it behind some dumb things. Idk it just urks me to see rewards be given in the battle pass or these crown reward things and they give you like a reagent or an elixir thing and it just feels like a slap to the face and doesnt even look or seem worth trying to even do or get because all you are getting is shitty items that not that many ppl care about in the end sry for my long rant, i love the game but i really hate how predatory it has become and they have no excuse to just keep letting it go on and on and on If they have lack of rescources then they should hire people that can make new models of items etc

People will spend if they want something, and it's actually a brag as we all do in mmos that everyone wants a unique thing, reason why people still want the white stripe tiger mount, so in reality my only issue here is the rewards been very crappy, that simple, think about it they can just say fck it and take it off and people will get 0.
sometimes the rewards are worth it. sometimes they aren't. Some players will spend like water to get that mount because they think its cool. Others will say, well it is cool, but just not cool enough for me to spend THAT much. When they had the winter event a few years ago with the snowflake snowmobile, I spent for that one for my ice wizard - and got an extra character slot too. That was worth it to me. This one isn't. But it will be for someone else, and that's okay.

The rewards spending should be over a much longer time period like 3 months rather than 7 days. I very rarely buy crowns but spent 20k crowns in the 7days before the event, actually 18k the night before which nets me nothing. I'll also be buying Wallaru I'm guessing about 10k crowns next week after this even ends, thanks KI 30+k crowns either side of the event and I'll get nada, for a good chunk spent. For me a lot of real money, the only personal satisfaction is most of the items are crap. What is with those rockhammer packs? I do deckathlon and always get junk they are maybe worth 400 GOLD not Crowns.. One thing I don't like is the wand is a picture, imagine going for that and find out it looks like doodoo!

See, the worst thing is, these aren't physical items. They're digital goods, of already existing items/models in the game. The only unique thing is the dumb bamboo staff. They think low effort items are worth 100+ dollars. Just remember their Night-Knight event where they tried to resell you the entire set for 700 dollars. Value is subjective, but this game keeps demanding it's players to spend hundreds of dollars every month for absolute no-effort items. It's not like KI are making new assets. They're reusing them. The difference between a pack of cards at my store and a pack in Wizard101 is, the physical cards I get can have actual value later in life. Wizard101 is digital reused content that has zero value long term. Edit: So... There's something I've noticed recently with their new Wallaru world if you pay attention to the story of the sidequests. The more I read, the more upset I get. It's so... Bitter. They keep telling stories about how "corporate greed is bad", theres a quest mocking things like "Rehashing old content" (Remember those smoke fog bosses?), and entire quests dedicated to mocking the player's exploits in the game... It all REEKS of Hypocrisy. They continue to mock their playerbase, and saying greed is bad, while trying to sell you the idea of blowing 100$/week is okay. and yet all complaints are null n void because i've seen people drive around in these i saw people going around in that boat last time. a common augment is it doesn't affect the game if people spend money on things like this but it does. for the first time kingsile didn't release the whole world (wallaru) because they didn't finish it gear and dungeons missing, delayed for another few months. more money comes from poeple that buy lootboxes and things like FOMO (fear of missing out) why would they focus the dev team on making another world when they can make a bumper car and get way more money for it? do a bit of research and you'll find that companies don't even call these people players they call them payers i bet in a few more years we won't even be getting a world a year anymore.
Oh not sure, cuz yeah they did change the drop tables based on your level for some of the drops. My guess is you CAN still get the archangel gear regardless of your level because it doesn’t count the same as the level 100 gear that’s level gated, but it’ll still be a very rare drop because it’s crowns gear.
Someone who has a bunch of the free 30 day imp mounts I agree. It's not a great mount. I'm sure if i had a perm of it it'd be at my house quicker than the 30 day ones individually run out

Oh not sure, cuz yeah they did change the drop tables based on your level for some of the drops. My guess is you CAN still get the archangel gear regardless of your level because it doesn’t count the same as the level 100 gear that’s level gated, but it’ll still be a very rare drop because it’s crowns gear.
As someone who HAS the imp costume. I don’t think the mount is worth it. 😒
Someone who has a bunch of the free 30 day imp mounts I agree. It's not a great mount. I'm sure if i had a perm of it it'd be at my house quicker than the 30 day ones individually run out
