  • If you want to make one significant difference in the life of someone you care about, then learn how to connect with aging parents! Spending time with elderly parents, real quality time, is often the last thing on the mind of a busy and stressed family caregiver. But when a parent feels invisible, when an elderly parent feels lonely, especially when there are people around, it can be isolating and depressing. In this quick video I'll discuss how you can spend just a few quality minutes and re-connect with your aging parent on a truly deep level.

I really was glad for sharing your idea how to make my Mom happy who was away from me. Last Christmas i spent it with my mom and siblings and there is one thing i did which you just mentioned and that was giving her arms massage while talking to her eye to eye. My sis also did that to her and I felt how happy she is being massaged everynight while sharing experiences and anything with her. Thank you for such valuable idea..

Thank you so much for this video. It’s an eye opener. I intend to sit with my mum today, knew to knee, phone off, and notice her; and talk to her; and appreciate her.

Hello Sofia! Awesome video and yes I will take the challenge. I see my mother often and I always tell her how much she means to me and she knows I love her dearly. On the other hand, my father retired 30 years ago from the USMC and moved to the Philippines to live a care free island lifestyle. I see him once every five years or so; but I do send him emails every once in a while. I was in college when he made this decision to leave so needless to say, I was not a child, in fact, I thought it would be good for him to do what makes him happy. Its been a while since I heard his voice but i will take your challenge and I will ask my little brother to put Dad on the phone next time he visits. My little brother was born in the Philippines and moved here a few years ago. He talks to our father more regularly than I do.
