suprised that you didn't mention (especially with how many you had in your songs library) that songs with the piano, drum, or fruit symbol aren't Osu Standard maps and if you are wanting to play just Osu Standard to avoid those. I personally love all the gamemodes but since this is a begginer tutorial for Osu Standard would be a helpful thing to mention

You have to upp your star rating thats, what im doing and im already fcing 4 star maps. You need to upp your star but dont go all out just play 4 star and then play 4.5 star and go on. If you start fcing 4 star go to 4.5 star do that (and listen to this video)

And when I play Maps that are not made so understandable, it is just difficult. And Osu itself make's not easier. Osu has far too few indicators. alright so i don't need to watch this video to know its going to say that the best tip is to just keep playing but let me explain this in an incredible way alright so i got osu around 5 days ago and at first i could not complete something like chandelier king on easy but now i'm at a stage where from only playing no tricks or anything i can get double ss ranks 100% on well modded songs and after 73 attempts i can complete hello world on normal (chaoz' Normal) so don't listen for tips just play at your own pace i have a huion touchpad coming in 2 days and it's going to suck learning to use it but i'm going to take it at my own pace so i don't get frustrated or lose my cool i'm just going into it to learn have fun and enjoy and at the core that's what games are for FUN don't get angry at osu just download some songs from your favourite creator and grind it out (AT YOUR OWN PACE!!) also if your palms get sweaty that is normal so no you are not having a stroke because you missed a hit and ended up with a 99.17% accuracy.... only i get heart attacks from that anyway i'm just your "friendly" brit and i hope to see you doing good and having fun on osu :) also: if you want confirmation to my statements about me being super new and being able to achieve 100% on some well modded songs then ask and you shall receive my osu ID :D

This was nice tutorial i must say, I myself started osu at 2013 summer time, 1 year i played just offline osu!mania because i havent had net, and then the next 4 years i would play insane 36h. So if you wonder how good i've gotten, well 4.911 was my best rank good enough to go on osu!mania official tournament, however i refused to go because 5k rank was minimal so instead i went on Soft tournament three times and ended in group 32 in my 4 years i've mastered 30KPS (keys per second) i was able to play 6sr maps only 4K i never really had interest in 7K however i practiced a lot HD mod with really high scale sometimes so high that i would max it on 40 those scale were presented by "note distance" on mania not really the speed all tho you have another scale that scales BPM but most people i know use fixed scale. After some time i got board of HD and i started to play FL from 2sr and have gotten to 5sr when i learned FL which often people say it is hardest mod i would just play FLDT on 20scale by far my goal back than was to read faster notes then staiain back in 2015 when wonder and perhaps jakads were not so popular and jhlee0311 was a leader #1 staiain was called a god of speed. Fun fact. we now have a DT pp system staiain was i believe in 2017 1.2k ranker and when DT came in yes he was a dt player as well his ranks jumped on 200 because lets face it most of professional and semi professional players including me practice on etterna or stepmania while its true that osu contains few tehnical maps which can be fun to play (in ranked) stepmania can offer you much more and etterna as well. Now i retired from osu mania and i sometimes just visit osu just to talk to people who still try to perform very best Strong advice for beginners dont endanger your health like i did i played osu for 36h if you want to join semi pro rank that is 5k or perhaps pro rank that is 200 (for mania) you should play 2-4h however ive seen players constantly ending map in B or A which is terrible your main goal is to have at very least 98% on map because when you join tournament you wont last long if you drop less then 98% acc. what im trying to say you must came with goal... lets say for start good goal would be to beat 50k rank and then 10k after that you will have some potential then you can consider really to practice because 5sr and above maps are at minimum 20kps which sometimes can be painful and stressful you want to be straight forward with yourself how you want to progress what maps you want to practices (jumpstream, jacks, handjacks, handstream, trills etc.) Overall in osu you will meet a lot friendly people the community is really great and the game is addictive if you are really looking for stuff that will keep your daily gaming dose a while. In my 4 years ive met over 200 people with who i really actively would talk on osu or just discord i've changed as a person i've learned much more about music and im looking forward to new people who are coming in osu to keep this community alive HF.

Just keep playing maps with overlapping circles and streams and you'll get better at them. Don't abuse the replay button though.
