My modern day retrain of Fusionist: Attribute: Earth ATK: 900 DEF: 700 [Beast/Fusion/Effect] “1 beast monster” + “1 fairy monster” If this card is fusion summoned, send any number of monsters from either field to the GY’s, this card gains ATK and DEF equal to the ATK and DEF of the sent monsters. If this monster would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish one fusion monster from your GY instead. Once per turn (quick effect): you can fusion summon 1 fusion monster from your extra deck, by banishing materials listed on it from your hand, deck and/or GY. If this card leaves the field, you can add 1 “De-Fusion”, or “Polymerization” from your deck or GY to your hand.
Should change it to "combined ATK and DEF of the sent monsters" instead of "ATK and DEF of the combined monsters" because you're not combining the monsters, you're combining their stats.
Is a bad thing that I remember using Black Metal Dragon in my deck? Back in the day, I ran it with a Cyberdark Dragon back in the day. Use it, the Cyberdark Dragon (which would equip Red Eyes), and then normally limiter removal. It WAS a powerful combo back in the day.
2:29:42 I just found out that “Dragon Master Knight” is getting a retrain in the form of… _Dragon Magia Master_ (LIGHT) Level 12 Dragon/Fusion/Effect "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" (or 3 "Blue-Eyes" monsters) + 1 "Chaos" or "Black Luster Soldier" Ritual Monster _Must be Fusion Summoned. When your opponent activates a card or effect (Quick Effect): You can negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card. You can only activate this effect of "Dragon Magia Master" in response to each card type (Monster, Spell, or Trap) once per turn. If this face-up card in its owner's control leaves the field because of an opponent's card: You can Special Summon 1 "Blue-Eyes" monster, or 1 "Chaos" or "Black Luster Soldier" Ritual Monster, from your Extra Deck or GY._ ATK/5000 DEF/4000 I’m not sure why they bothered to decrease the DEF by 1000, but regardless, I would like to create a “Five-Headed Dragon” Fusion Monster retrain in response. As the above card diverts rather drastically from the original master knight, I’ll have my retrain on doubling down on what the OG five-headed already does: _Five-Disasters Dragon_ (DARK) Level 12 Dragon/Fusion/Effect 5 Dragon monsters with different attributes _Must be fusion summoned. If this card is in your extra deck, and you control a face-up “Five-Headed Dragon” (Quick Effect): You can activate 1 “Fusion” or “Polymerization” Spell/Trap from your hand, deck or GY. This fusion summoned card’s original attributes become the attributes of the cards used for its fusion summon while it’s outside of your extra deck. Cannot be destroyed by battle by, and unaffected by the effects of, monsters with the same attributes. This card gains the following effects, depending on its original attributes: LIGHT: Gains ATK/DEF equal to the original total ATK/DEF of any monster it battles, during damage calculation only. DARK: If a card or effect is activated, you can banish 1 card from your hand or field: Negate that activation. FIRE: You can tribute 1 card from your hand or field: Destroy 1 card on the field. WATER: You can shuffle 1 card from your hand or field into your deck: Add 1 card from the GY to either players hand. EARTH: Pay 1000 LP: Place 1 Field spell from your hand, deck or GY face-up into your field zone. WIND: Discard 1 card: Shuffle 1 card from either players field or GY into the deck._ ATK/5000 DEF/5000 THERE, now the card is a proper Fusion Retrain of the OG five-headed: ⚪️It plays off the Elemental Heads the original card has, requiring 5 Dragon monsters with different attributes/elements for it’s summon, and revolving its protections and effects around said attributes/elements… ⚪️It’s immunities stand squarely between Five-Headed Dragon’s and it’s Link versions, focusing on monsters of it’s assembled original attributes/“elements”. ⚪️It plays off of the original Five-Headed Dragon by allowing you to use your fusion/polymerization spells/traps easier while the above face-up card (So all you have to worry about is getting the other 4 Non-DARK Dragons in range for whatever Spell/Trap you have in mind to fusion summon Five-Disasters) ⚪️And each “Head” of the fusion summoned card now offers a thematically appropriate effect… Bonus points for the LIGHT one, since it directly addresses how Five-Headed Dragon tended to be beaten in battle by LIGHT monsters in the anime. Turnabout is fair play after all.
The reason why Dragon Magia Master have 5000ATK/4000DEF because in the first appearance of Dragon Master Knight in Anime,it has 5000ATK/4000DEF when that fight against Big 5’s Five-Headed Dragon in virtual game.
Early fusion cards largely had one advantage. They didn't use your normal summon and could get you some tribute material on the field for your boss monsta
42:23 So we have Metal Dragon and Metal Zoa here that rely on Metalmorph from the deck (and ONLY the deck)… SO, let me retrain all three to be more useful while keeping what merits they already had: _Tuning Metalmorph_ Trap Card _You can pay 1000 LP to activate this card from your hand or GY. If it battles, it gains ATK and DEF equal to half the total ATK/DEF of the monster it’s battling, during damage calculation only. If the target would leave the field because of an opponent’s card, destroy this card instead. You can discard 1 card: Special summon this card as a Normal Monster (Machine/Tuner/DARK/Level 1/ATK 500/DEF 500). (This card is also still a Trap.)_ _Red-Eyes Obsidian Metal Dragon_ (DARK) Level 8 Dragon/Tuner/Effect _Cannot be normal summoned/set. Must be special summoned by its own effect. If this card would leave the field because of an opponent’s card (Quick Effect), you can discard 1 card instead. Once per turn (Quick effect), you can tribute 2 cards from your hand and/or field: Apply 1 of the following effects:_ ⚪️Add to your hand or set 1 Spell/Trap you possess that mentions “Red-Eyes” or “Metalmorph” in its name or effects. ⚪️Normal or Special Summon 1 “Red-Eyes” monster from your hand or deck. @@lovelaxo tbh I don't remember writing this as a reply to this comment. Some of the rules and rulings mentioned in the video were from upper deck, the company that ran ygo distribution and tournaments in the United States before konami took it back
Hearing Maxx "C" analyzed again and again, it's occurred to me that it, Nibiru, etc. are solid examples that the game is not nearly as out of control as some speculate. They can throw out fairly simple cards like those that slow the game down without removing cards or changing the rules themselves. The game is the speedy thing it is on purpose.
Man i hate cards that miss timing, it shouldn't even be a thing, all it does is make archetypes unplayable. And the worst part is it must be intentional since they keep printing new cards that miss timing.
I’m pretty sure that the “missing the timing” rule is not really that well programmed on Yu-gi-oh! videogames as it doesn’t apply at all in most cases.
I’m still confused about the dark world explanation. Raigeki break’s cards effect says to discard 1 card, then target 1 card one the field; destroy it. Logs says because of the word “then” in its effect, that the effect is a considered a ‘cost’, therefore the effect doesn’t happen simultaneously. Yet in card destruction, the word “then” is also in the card effect, but that works. As I’m typing this I understand that card destruction doesn’t have to ‘cost’ a player anything if that player’s only card in hand is card destruction. That determines that card destruction doesn’t require a cost to play. Even though the word “then” is in it’s effect, the word “same” when referring to the number of cards discarded makes the second part of the effect function simultaneous. Even if card destruction’s effect were instead “Each player discards their hands to the graveyard, then they draw 3 cards.” It would still be a simultaneous effect. A player with 0 cards in hand would still draw 3. Although it’d be written in conjunction like Raigeki, the difference is that Trap cards like Raigeki require a cost to activate whereas a spell effect can be blundered. So I guess I’m lost on the difference between Raigeki and Bone Temple. I’m assuming the difference is that raigeki’s effect is a 2 step process in conjunction with discarding and then targeting, where as bone temple simply says to discard 1 card. Even so, I’m failing to understand how the discard in Bone Temple isn’t considered a cost the same way Raigeki’s discard is. There’s plenty of cards that list exceptions in their effects. If Dark World effects didn’t exclude costs being a trigger for their activation, then I don’t see how Raigeki can’t trigger the effect the same way Bone temple can. And as I’m finishing typing this I completely understand how it works.. “By card effect” Raigeki’s card effect isn’t simply discarding a card to destroy a card. It’s effect is to destroy a card. But the discard is the cost. It’s cause and effect. Bone Temple simply says discard 1 card. It is a cost, but it’s also an effect on its own because it’s separated from the other effect written afterwards. The Fabled cards fixed this by getting rid of “by card effect” meaning even if it was just the cost, like it is in Raigeki, it would still activate. This is such a hard thing to grasp because of implications. I would consider anything that a card does to affect other cards regardless of how it’s written to be an effect, but the game wants you to distinguish between costs and effects.
the devil in this case is in thesmall details in problem solvong card text a semicolon ; denotes cost for activation which means that raigeki break discards for cost in order to activate the effect, and doesent discard with its effect
Last week on a local I played gorz, and everyone around us was shocked because no one was expecting it, especially my Oponent who attack with 5900 atk first😅. To be fair some may shocked the fact more that it was ghost rare
How does the match-winning mechanic work? Why would it ever count as two wins in a tournament? Seems like you should just get one win for reducing their Lp to 0(Which i kinda thought was already how you win typically, outside a deck out/ surrender)
Because there's a difference between "the match" and "the duel." Matches consist of multiple duels, usually up to 3 total with winners being determined by who wins 2 duels out of 3. With a match winner effect, it automatically wins the second duel for you before it's even played out if you resolve it.
@@theoryoftheinnocent Ah I understand now, I wrongly assumed they were the same. Was unfamiliar with the terminology as I've never played a competitive tournament, just goofed around as a kid and picked up duel links recently. Thx for clarifying
The way to Fix the problem with match winning cards is to add an effect that also makes you win the match if your opponent surrenders while you have the card on the field. The effect could read "If this card attacks your opponent directly and reduces their LP to 0, or if your opponent surrenders while this card is face up on the field in a monster zone, you win the Match." Still doesn't change the fact that none of these cards are legal in tournament play or that the only one that is "legal" is banned. This card is probably banned BECAUSE of this flaw, in your opponent just scooping instead of allowing a match winning attack to go through and creating nightmares for judges.
In masterduel, ash-blossom is often used to negate MAXX C :D Edit: Btw MAXX C helps pendulum Decks, because the opponent only draws 1 Card for pendulum summon your entire Board
If R.E. Black Metal Dragon had Metalmorph's effect natively, it might've been a decent boss monster. But no, Red Eyes once again gets shafted by Konami...
Playing around nibiru doesn't mean doing less than 5 special summons nowadays, it means setting up a negate before 5 or setting the graveyard to restart the combo after nibiru
Back in my day we used to duel by cutting the top off of bottles and cutting the tip off of a ballon. We then used the cut part to secure the balloon to the top of the cut bottle and then find pebbles or green seed looking things from a tree to shoot at each other
You should have always been setting cards main phase two, never main phase one. Flip monsters that can kill back row were around before malevolent catastrophe or ryko.
So what you're saying is like in magic? The gathering, it's a soft negate, not a hard negate. It only prevents certain actions, not all actions That the card was used in spite of not knowing for sure. Will this stop the problemin some cases like you said? Depends on the wording depends on the format of the card. Can the newest depending on the wording? Unless it says quick effect like certain monsters. Were certain spells where the title has to be there. Or where you have to pay a price. You don't get set effect to go off but in other instances like I said, quick effect. It takes place before m, s, t, so you get the effect. But are if there are further effects beyond that , depending on the wording , it's a soft negate , the rest of it does not continue to work I'd say it's a major pain but I kind of already knew this card had some drawbacks. But it's still an old case staple card you
Also also, isnt Power Wall in the same leagueas Grass? The difference is that one is a trap and the other isnt, and grass stops working if your opponent has more cards than you do.
Best generic searcher: maxx c Best turn ender: maxx c Best card to negate: maxx c Best format shaper: maxx c Best mind game: maxx c What else is maxx c the best at in the game?
So I'm not saying you did anything wrong, but I'm curious as to why an infinite loop can't just be considered an auto-win or loss, instead of an invalid play. Seems unfair.

ATK/5000 DEF/5000
THERE, now the card is a proper Fusion Retrain of the OG five-headed:
⚪️It plays off the Elemental Heads the original card has, requiring 5 Dragon monsters with different attributes/elements for it’s summon, and revolving its protections and effects around said attributes/elements…
⚪️It’s immunities stand squarely between Five-Headed Dragon’s and it’s Link versions, focusing on monsters of it’s assembled original attributes/“elements”.
⚪️It plays off of the original Five-Headed Dragon by allowing you to use your fusion/polymerization spells/traps easier while the above face-up card (So all you have to worry about is getting the other 4 Non-DARK Dragons in range for whatever Spell/Trap you have in mind to fusion summon Five-Disasters)

This is such a hard thing to grasp because of implications. I would consider anything that a card does to affect other cards regardless of how it’s written to be an effect, but the game wants you to distinguish between costs and effects.
the devil in this case is in thesmall details
in problem solvong card text a semicolon ; denotes cost for activation
which means that raigeki break discards for cost in order to activate the effect, and doesent discard with its effect
I absolutely adore the auto-generated chapter names.
You are a ygo God for doing this video!!! God bless you!!!
What a way to wake up to 🎉🎉🎉
The way to Fix the problem with match winning cards is to add an effect that also makes you win the match if your opponent surrenders while you have the card on the field. This card is probably banned BECAUSE of this flaw, in your opponent just scooping instead of allowing a match winning attack to go through and creating nightmares for judges.
such an amazing episode, it might be idea not to watch it while you eat 🤣😆
What happened at 27:56?
Itd be cool if they had a card called finite permanence and it lets you use an effect twice ignoring its limitation
In masterduel, ash-blossom is often used to negate MAXX C :D
Edit:
Btw MAXX C helps pendulum Decks, because the opponent only draws 1 Card for pendulum summon your entire Board
I feel like they should make an exodus specific painful choice to get this car out easier
If R.E. Black Metal Dragon had Metalmorph's effect natively, it might've been a decent boss monster.
But no, Red Eyes once again gets shafted by Konami...

Promethean Princess: NO
I still don’t know how targeting works…
Sales pitch in alterguist?
2 whole hours of Kenetic Soldier what a deal!
People play around nibiru?
I see combo decks go off with zero hesitation these days on master duel
Playing around nibiru doesn't mean doing less than 5 special summons nowadays, it means setting up a negate before 5 or setting the graveyard to restart the combo after nibiru
Bozzbrax, Ultimate Darkdragon Doomking Apocalypse Overlord EX
Since when does scapegoats have effects?
I've got 5 hours before my final exam at Duel Academy and this is what I'll listen to to cram for it.
Back in my day we used to duel by cutting the top off of bottles and cutting the tip off of a ballon. We then used the cut part to secure the balloon to the top of the cut bottle and then find pebbles or green seed looking things from a tree to shoot at each other
Omg I did fall asleep as the title suggested 🤣
Good video 💯💯
Thank you duel logs.
Is this real? Or just fan made?
Erratum is the singular form of errata.
You should have always been setting cards main phase two, never main phase one. Flip monsters that can kill back row were around before malevolent catastrophe or ryko.
4th time ive fallen alseep to auto play to get here
Imperm doesn't turn on TTT either
But it's still an old case staple card you
Me listening to this at work

My Z-arc got destroyed by Imsety card effect
Also,I just remembered that Ark is in the game
Also also, isnt Power Wall in the same leagueas Grass?
The difference is that one is a trap and the other isnt, and grass stops working if your opponent has more cards than you do.

So I'm not saying you did anything wrong, but I'm curious as to why an infinite loop can't just be considered an auto-win or loss, instead of an invalid play. Seems unfair.
It's just not what the game is supposed to be. Players shouldn't be trying to create infinite loops.
Because to win you have to meet a certain condition.. playing cards infinitely is not one of those conditions
