Rock is not dead. It moved to Japan and has reincarnated as a bunch of little ultra-talented Japanese ladies.
3 favorites for Nemophila: Adabana, Seize the Fate (official live) and Zen (Official live).
Edit: I got confused: Raitei is an excellent song too, but Seize the Fate official live showcases more the talent of the ladies.

Since I know (and *love* ) Lovebites and Nemophila, I always say: "Never ever underestimate a young and kind-looking Japanese lady with an electric guitar of her own size and an amp in reach." 😁 Long live Lovebites, long live Nemophila! 😊

Nemophila don't have a bad song really. They have a few styles as well so plenty of variety. They do a lot of sick covers as well. That was everyone's savior during COVID. Nemophila Fridays were great for lock downs. I got sold on Nemophila after seeing their first music video called RAITEI. Thats probably a good starting point. Hanabie and Lovebites are also very popular and you will find a big cross over of fans. I saw Hanabie last night at their first sold out concert in Australia and they were freaking awesome. They blew the lid of the joint. I also saw Nemophila and Hanabie together in Japan in June and it was the best concert I have ever seen. Enjoy all Japanese metal. Its the best metal universe in the world.

Great reaction, Nemophila, Band Maid, Lovebites, and Hanabie are the big 4 from Japan. I’ll also recommend Lonesome Blue-Face the Fear, Trident-Cry Out, Kilt Melt Land-Rewrite, and especially Gacharic Spin-Replica.

The live version of “Zen” is very good.
It’s nice to see you on the Japanese rock/metal band train. You should also look at Lovebites try “Judgement Day”.
Moving away from Japan, Jinjer is a Ukrainian metal band who are awesome try “Vortex” OMV, “Perennial” live at Wacken or if you like heavier “Sit, Stay, Rollover” OMV.

You have finally reached Nemophila. This band is incredible.
Their music is very diverse. They aren't always that heavy! But I love all their songs.
My favorite song is "Adabana". There is a music video with this song! But if you want a live video, you can watch "Zen". These songs are great!
Thank you for the reaction! More Nemophila on the channel! And (I say it again) you should check out another Japanese all female band Lovebites with their live video "Holy war" on their official UA-cam channel.

Your first pronunciation of Nemophila was absolutely right.
This band has two faces, their own songs and their covers. This is one of the best cover bands ever. And their own songs are fire!
I recommend you to look at both covers and original songs.
And as they say - you cannot go wrong.

Regarding music videos vs music movies vs studio live sessions.
Music videos are always top notch.
Live sessions are always fun to watch and well made. They also have some simulated covid live sessions that are very good.
Older live footage is bad technical quality, but the new official live ones are lots of fun.

They are _brilliant_ . I bought all of their albums since the third song I heard from them. Metal without regrets, similar to the Japanese all-female Metal band "Lovebites". And I guarantee you: You will never be disappointed. They simply are not _able_ to disappoint or bore.

Nemophila was formed in 2019. Hanabie and Band-Maid have been going a lot longer. Nemophila is my favourite band but they aren't better than Hanabie or Band-Maid: they're different.
They're not in competition. Nemophila have covered a Hanabie song on their YT channel and Yukina from Hanabie has joined Mayu and Nemophila on stage to perform a Nemophila song. The female Japanese bands are a supportive community. They frequently appear together and show plenty of mutual respect.
Nemophila posted on social media recently to shout out to Lovebites, another all-female band whose show the Nemophila members attended.

I saw Nemophila live in San Francisco earlier this year. They killed it! It was almost more than this old guy could physically handle...loudest show I've ever been to. They can do it all, from covering Journey and KISS, to beautiful tearjerkers like "Life", to the brutality of the official live MV of "Zen" (which should be your next reaction.)

Japanese metal is the best metal nowadays. There’s a large crossover between Nemophila and Hanabie fans. I love both bands (though Nemophila is my favorite). Nemophila even covered a Hanabie song and they had a concert together.
Band Maid is more hard rock. They have a much much larger cult-like fan base.

After I discovered Band-Maid almost 4 years ago, I then did the deep dive into Japanese rock/metal. Before discovering Band-Maid, the only all-female rock or metal band I regularly listened to was Nervosa out of Brazil. Now I enjoy quite a few all-female bands and at the top of the list are Crypta from Brazil (formed by 2 members of Nervosa), The Warning from Mexico and quite a few very talented all-female bands from Japan - Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila, Gacharic Spin and Hanabie being my favorites. I have seen Band-Maid and Nemophila live in Dallas and will see Lovebites next year in Atlanta. Unfortunately I was unable to see Hanabie in Dallas. Of the shows I have seen this year, Nemophila is only behind Jinjer as the best.

Nemophila - "baby blue eyes" flower, "Rurikarakusa" in Japanese; grows in N-America and is appreciated in Japan (see "Hitachi Seaside Park").
The band was formed in 2019, originally as a "session" brought together by...
Mayu - the vocalist (ex- Lipstick band); she brought...
Haraguchi-san - bass, backing vocals, was Mayu's friend and colleague from Music College (ex - Holderlins band); contacted...
    Tamu Murata - drums, backing vocals, one the most respected session musician in Japan (countless bands), with also her own original carrier; she's also the wife of Akira Yamaoka, musician/composer, known especially for his videogames OSTs, in particular for "Silent Hill";
Saki (ex - "Mary's Blood" band for a decade, and others), she's a "young sacred monster" in J-metal) guitar, backing vocals, and...
Hazuki (Li-sa-X / KOIAI bands) - guitar, backing vocals; both, Saki and Hazuki have a lot of experience.
Nemophila made an amazing fandom impression during the pandemic, thru UA-cam clips...so far about 50 or so Western/Japanese awesomely bonkers covers, and over 30 original freakishly good songs (singles, EPs, 2 albums - "Revive" and "Seize The Faith"; 3rd album "Evolve" in January 2024).
    Discography, alphabetical order:
    01. ADABANA - 徒花 - "Fruitless/seedless flower"
    02. Another Story (ballad)
    03. A Ray Of Light
    04. Back into the wild
    05. Blooming
    06. Breaking Out
    07. Change the World
    08. Creature
    09. DISSENSION
    10. Enigma
    11. ENTEN - 炎天 - "Scorching/blazing heat/sun"
    12. Fighter
    13. GAME OVER (ballad)
    14. Hōzuki - 鬼灯 - "Demon Light" - "Winter cherry" / "Japanese lantern" plant
    15. HYPNOSIS
    16. Life (ballad - their "official anthem")
    17. MONSTERS
    18. Night Flight (early electronicore song, used as breakout during concerts)
    19. now I here (ballad)
    20. OIRAN - "Courtesan" (their first original song, in february 2020)
    21. OSKR
    22. RAITEI - 雷霆 - "Thunder"
    23. REVIVE
    24. RISE
    25. Rock’n’Roll Is? (an homage to famous rock bands/artists; the lyrics/melody and style of play are Easter Eggs)
    26. Rollin’Rollin’
    27. Seize the Faith
    28. Soaring ~to be continued~(instrumental)
    29. SORAI - "Autumn wind" (was supposed to be the original name for the band)
    30. STYLE
    31. - 群青
    32. Waiting for you
    33. ZEN
    ________
The songs missing from official CDs:
    - Another Story... written during the pandemic, with the purpose of lifting the spirit;
not part of any official release or performed in any concert...
    but - according to Saki - "it's part of 'Yell to Art, Tokyo Project' (started by Tokyo Metropolitan Government to offer place for artists to upload their work...since all lives, concerts, events and exhibitions had been suspended, all venues had been closed";
it was posted on UA-cam, on this channel: アートにエールを!【音楽 1ch】; although is no longer there, there are some reactions to it, just search "NEMOPHILA / AnotherStory".
    - Breaking Out, Creature, Ultramarine... not part of any official release, but they are performed sometimes in the concerts.
    - Blooming...released only on the official Nemophila UA-cam channel, it is performed sometimes in the concerts.
    ___________________________
What are my next reaction recommendations?
Chronologically... start with the first ones: Oiran, Dissension, Revive, Raitei... and throw some their earliest covers in the mix. 1-2 originals followed by 2-3 covers... repeat the scheme: this is the NemoWay.

As you might know by now many of us have been into the Japanese rock music scene for years now. And there's a good reason why. For me Band-Maid, Lovebites and Nemophila are the best of the best. I saw Nemophila at Aftershock 2022. They are fantastic live. In the screaming genre l would suggest Dissension with the epic line "Do you want to die like a fucking loser?" But be advised they also do ballads and tear jerkers like Life. It is a rabbit hole. The music of these three top bands is different enough genre wise to set them apart from each other and what motivates me in listening is how am l feeling today. For Lovebites check out Stand and Deliver and for Band-Maid check our Hate? live at Lollapalooza. The best music today comes from Japan with a nod to the Warning from Mexico. Enjoy the ride.

Lovebites attended and supported Band-Maid's epic at Yokohama. Band-Maid loves "The Warning." Please don't try to impose the toxic habit of American entertainers feuding with each other for publicity on people who don't play that nasty game.

Yes, the members of Nemophila are a little older than those of Hanabie, but Hanabie has actually been formed for a lot longer. But Nemophila is a bit of a "supergroup," with each member coming from previous, successful project(s). Three of the four Hanabie members have only ever been in that project, to the best of my knowledge.
Anyway, I think you'll find a lot of crossover between Nemophila and Hanabie fans, for all that they have a very different sound. They shared a bill a few months back in Nagoya, and Yukina from Hanabie did guest vocals on "Zen." Wish I'd been there!

The majority of Japanese music lovers dont pitch bands against each other, (except for the I listen to only one band obsessives), especially when they are from different genres of music. There's not a need for one band is better than another, its a matter of your own personal taste in music.
I love dozens of Japanese bands from many genres. I have favourites, not all big names either, I love going to the small live houses in Japan and watching a variety of smaller, independent bands too. There are many gems to discover.
As for Nemophila songs, I like them all, many people will recommend Revive, Seize the fate, Dissension, Raitei, Zen live, Oiran live. Adabana.

I’m with you guys listened to Band Maid for weeks then came to Nemophila and was hooked in because they have that metal core and wanted more and more. Nemophila is amazing. Listened to Dissension, Zen and Oiran for brutal sound. Hazuki and Seize the Fate for metal and Game Over and I Am here for ballads. Great reaction. Direction

I recommend "HYPNOSIS" and "STYLE" composed by bassist Haraguchisan. These two songs are very unique and show their versatility. Also, they release covers almost every week, which is something that other bands don't have. Among them, the recently announced "SIC ( Slipknot COVER)" is cool, so please check it out.

They been around going on almost 5 years and about to release their 3rd Album in January and this song will be on it. Some others to check out from them I suggest Oiran Live the most current one which is about 4 months ago also Adabana,Dissension , Zen Live, and also RAITEI and there is many more great ones too besides those.

I saw Nemophila live in Dallas, Tx back in March, they were totally awesome, I said hello to them in parking lot when they arrived at the club and they were super nice all around 5’0 tall and they put on a great show.
I saw Band-Maid in Austin, Tx and they were awesome live, they sounded amazing, and were really fun on stage smiling and very pretty in person. This show was around like middle of May.
I saw Hanabie at a different club in Austin, Tx opening for the Star Wars metal band called Galactic Empire and Hanabie were awesome and got the crowd going, best band on the bill and they were pretty solid sounding. The Star Wars band was boring, this show was in August. I can’t wait to see these bands again soon along with The Warning and Lovebites when they get down to Texas next year. Hopefully Rolling Quartz from South Korea comes back to Texas also.

After two albums, these five stunning ladies never released a weak track. But the most important point for me is they never copy/paste from one track to the next one. Music wise, they are truly geniuses in songwriting. This is why they are easily at the top of my favorite bands all around, and by far (with Hanabie, for the same reason).
And I bought without any hesitation the four Blu-Ray released by the band, which is for me at the moment the best way to support these highly talented ladies.
And if you want to discover the insane range of their music, just try "Zen" Live and then "Change the world" Live (both from the amazing "Rizing Nemo" show).

Last year they played the Whiskey a Go Go. This year they performed at Aftershock and later had a US Tour!!
They started out as Mayu's Session Band, put together by Mayu, vocals, to allow her to meet some commitments. They meshed as a band musically , and more important personally enjoyed playing together. So the world got Nemophila (Nee Mo Fee La).
Mayu does not speak English(!!), Saki, guitar, does speaks English and teaches Mayu the English lyrics.
Did you notice that Saki and Hazuki are playing 7 string guitars?
Nest - "Seize the Fate" live. All Japanese bands are better live.

Nemophila is a relatively new band, only recently releasing their own compositions. They are GOOD. They have a ton of covers on YT. They cover Iron Maiden a bit and they do a cover of KISS' "Detroit - Rock City" with he whole band in KISS makeup. Their drummer, Tamu Murata, is hilariously cute in the Kiss Makeup, and their singer puts a smile on your face when she sings "Detloit! - Lock City!", she sounds so sweet!
Admission: Band-Maid has become my favorite rock group of all time. I do like Hanabie and Nemophila a lot, but Band-Maid has amassed a HUGE catalog of amazing music over their ten year career, all of it well written, flawlessly performed, and they aren't done yet. Their live performances are amazing. Watch "Puzzle" live at Tokyo Garden Theater or any of their instrumentals, like "Onset" or "From Now On"
Hanabie is also a fairly new band and just beginning to take off. Their bassist comes up with really crazy costumes for them to wear. I remember seeing them perform in Winnie The Pooh costumes as a gag. All their videos are extreme entertainment.

THERE IS ENOUGH GREAT CONTENT TO KEEP YOU BUSY AND VERY HAPPY. BTW, NO NEED TO PIT BANDS AGAINST EACH OTHER; THEY USUALLY HAVE A BROTHERS AND SISTERS RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER. VERY COMMON FOR THEM TO DO COLLABORATIONS. MATERNITY LEAVE DURING TOURS IS COVERED BY THEIR GOOD FRIENDS THAT STEP IN. THEY ALL HAVE THE GREATEST RESPECT FOR THE CREATORS FROM THE WEST. Before the 1980s, heavier music in Japan was consistently a male pursuit. Then came Show-Ya, an all female band whose name was their mission. They broke the "kawaii" demure childlike cuteness ideal for Japanese women and kicked open that door decisively. They played harder and Keiko strutted and sang stronger than women of Japan had done before. Every all women band playing to the heavy side since in Japan is still paving the path they blazed.
So it might be educational to look them up, especially 1985-90.
They also put on the annual Naon No Yaon music festival featuring all female artists. Fostering women in rock as good godmothers should.

As Yakidin said, Nemophila does Not have a bad song! I'm really a Rocker not a Metalhead so my taste may be different than others. My favorites: 1.) "Life", 2.) "Now I Here", 3.) "Game Over", 4.) "Breaking Out", 5.) "Waiting For You". Nemophila, simply put, is the most exciting band I've seen since 1980! I've seen a LOT of bands over my lifetime. I've seen Nemophila twice; once in Los Angeles, once in Webster, TX. If you think their YT videos are great, YOU'VE GOT TO SEE THEM LIVE! Hanabie as a band is actually older than Nemophila (8 years versus 4 years) but Nemophila's members are older, they are veterans of other bands. Nemophila has done a concert with Hanabie (what the Japanese call a "2 man"). The screamer from Hanabie, Yukina, joined with Mayu to sing a Nemophila song. Nemophila is also famous for their covers and for these 2 man concerts they will post on UA-cam a cover of a song by the other band. They have done a cover Hanabie's "Pardon me, I have to go": ua-cam.com/video/higsrM4jqn8/v-deo.html
If you want to hear their more softer rock side check out "Life" and "Now I Here".
These bands all respect each other. Some of the members of Lovebites attended Band-Maid's epic Yokohama concert.
And there are many great all-male and mixed-gender bands in Japan.
