two of the most reliable and capable 4x4s of years past
Was that when Mercedes owned Jeep? Fiat and Stelantis aren't exactly known for making high quality vehicles.
Had a 98 moss green TJ sahara -150k trouble free miles. Have owned a 06 rubicon LJ 15 plus years-they are simple and just work-i had x1 engine evap code -new fuel cap and that was the fix. They just run and are simple-I think Daimler Chrysler existed during the 98-06 Timeline but I could be wrong. 4.0 and associated power train were both solid on my 98 and my current LJ-I would. Or hesitate to drive cross country in my LJ that is nearly 20 years old. .
@@bmstylee Old jeeps were garbage too
@@fib4923you're full of it too. Owned 3, had 250k on 1st two and was daily driving both when I sold the. No mechanical troubles ever from either. Have my 03 Rubicon still, and its just as reliable. Best vehicles I've ever owned
3 to 6 inch wheel travel would be adequate!. 35" tires and 4 inch suspension lift with that power upgrade is the sweet spot!
Maybe. But 35s are going to add a bunch of weight and will possibly require a regearing.
Many they loved those Mickey Thompson Classic 2 wheels. Seems they used them on a lot of projects.
"Now, blah-blah-blah... Well, yackety-schmackety... Well, yak-yak-yak, now, walla-walla-walla..."
Great video
Nice project guy's that truck will last a long time.
The lag on that turbo has got to be astronomical
i wish i had these guys job
LOL, 1st gen Tacoma's are not imports. Every last one of them was built in Fremont, California.
Why do you guys never deflate your tires? Is that an American thing?
Didn’t it show him airing down?
@@massmike11 you can see when he's climbing the rocks they are as rigid as concrete. It seems that people think 35 Psi is deflated somehow, on a light truck tyre you should be somewhere at 20psi or under
He was literally airing down in the first minute of the video.
@@stevepauley2437 to what 40 Psi? There is literally no tie deflection even on a rockledge I don't think you understand what airing down looks like
@@BoostedTJ I think it looks like exactly what he was doing at the very beginning of the video. Do I think he aired down enough, no, but he was airing down. Personally, I like to be about 12psi, since I don’t have bead locks.
Jeep 4.0's > Toyota
Toyota all day. I dont want to be stranded in a jeep ;-)
@@fib4923Toyletas are boring appliances hmm😏.. like a toilet. I'll take the actual offroader with torque
