Idk how you didn't mention this but. The reason there are so many Wydowna fakes is because she's an incredibly unique doll whose basic look was a comic con exclusive. She's rare, has only one other doll, and expensive, so many people would buy into a bootleg out of desperation.
And also cuz of her many articulated arms

You should absolutely make this into a series, where you look at other fakes not just Monster High, so like Lol fakes and Rainbow High fakes and Bratz fakes.
It's funny. I clearly remember the brand "Monster Girl" with a 5 pack of very obvious bootleg dolls being sold at Target back when Monster High dominated the toy aisles (it may even have been around the time of Catty Noir's release). I found it interesting, odd, and honestly laughable that they were being sold there.

As someone from Latin America, ( Brazil) the original Monster High dolls were very expensive for normal people collect, only rich kids collect the real ones. I only had 2 original MH dolls, and the rest of my collection was fake dolls, EAH fake but articulated dolls too. Even them being fake I love my collection, most of them were ugly fake dolls that I costumized to look like the original dolls.
Retrospectives are literally so fun and informational.
That Draculaura with the braids is so cursed.
The only monster high “copy” that I like is Bratzillas

I actually bought these bodies off Ebay (for a presumably inflated price in retrospect) as I have a bunch of official heads with no bodies. If you use these bodies, BE SURE THEY'RE FOR PROJECTS 90% COVERED BY CLOTHES. They are serviceable as articulated skeletons for the most part, but are not great on their own. Depending on the color the arms and legs will either be fairly normal or SUPER rubbery (the mint green is the worst for this). I would suggest using them for projects with long flowing dresses, long pants, long sleeves, etc. Also, the feet may not fit certain official shoes properly.
I would love to see more fake doll videos! They're so fun to watch and think "how is this legal?"
I think people make lot of Wydowna spider dolls as a knock-off so they can trick people into buying the doll because she only had 2 releases (i believe) making her a rarer doll
i watched one of your other mh bootleg doll videos right before going to sleep at the end of summer break when i was very anxious but i was so anxious that i couldn't go to sleep until 4am (i went at 12am) and those 4 hours when i couldn't go to sleep i was just thinking about fake mh dolls and when i went to sleep i had dreams about fake mh dolls and up until school started thinking about fake mh dolls made my stomach hurt

NGL I bought that 5 doll set of fakies on Amazon like, a year ago and they were maybe $25 at the time. I knew they were fake, but I bought them for customizing. I don't know how people find used Monster High dolls at thrift stores, because I never can. 🤷🏻♀️ Oh, have you seen the fake Avia dolls on eBay that have her head with a regular purple human body? 😆
Were they good enough for customs or would you say it was a waste of money? I’ve always thought about buying the fakes to practice doll customizing but I’ve just never got round to it.
@𝓥𝓪𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓸 as somebody else who bought them, i'd advise being careful when posing because the joints feel a little weak. Other than that, they're decent quality. They come with clothes you can reuse, and their hair isn't glued in making it easy for removal.
I once had a fake Monster High Clawdeen bootleg she had a Bratz body and had a stolen Coffin Bean Clawdeen head

Really interesting video :) I've seen some doll that were obviously fake, but some of them you really do need to look more closely at them and if they have packaging; what it also looks like. I'm glad you put this up for people who aren't really familiar with all the details of these dolls. Even I have wondered at times; such as with Wydowna. Just last week I was thinking about possibly getting one of her and noticed a lot of them on ebay; but I hesitated and really didn't know about all her bootlegs. I also wasn't familiar with the differences between her bootlegs and the real girl. I hope you do more of these videos. Take care Sweetie :)
Eeek! I bought Bratz and lalaloopsy girls from Ebay. Gulp. Oh well. I just like to make them over and display them. I wont be selling them. I am fascinated by this. I live in a city where there are a lot of imports from China. Fakes are fun to buy for artist makeovers which I have done on and off most of my adult life. I am 58 btw.

I bought the articulated amazon fakes for a SIGNIFICANTLY lower price, and they're fairly decent dolls. And as somebody who will never get a chance to get the original wydowna, she's a good replacement.
maybe because wydowna is kinda rare so they make bootlegs of it and honestly i do have wydowna and its pretty hard passing her because of her arms

Just bought the Amazon "Draculara" for the body and the clothes. The head will probably be a paint/rooting tester.
I was into fnaf a lot back when it was like- extremely popular
I was too much into it like in 2015- 2017 I'm pretty sure, but of course I still got dolls then LOL (and now, always will collect them)
But like through those years almost everytime I asked for like actual fnaf merch (mostly for Christmas), most of the time I atleast got like one or two fake merch 💀
I mean sometimes I didnt know the difference myself but I knew some of them were fake so I just pretended I really liked them and they weren't fake at all 😌
Anyway I mostly wanted to complete the action figure collections of fnaf anyway back then so like I can just get them on my own now if I really wanted to-

They are such poor quality unfortunately. Only copy I liked and glad I got was the once upon a zombie. I have the mermaids they are poor quality compared to the original siren but I did use them for customs they break really easily I had one come broken.
Question. Did monster High ever come unarticulated and with attached gold boots? I bought her from a thrift store.

@@missroyaltea4012 I researched last night and it seems to be the budget line Clawdeen from 2016 Skullette. She has a green painted on swimsuit and gold painted on boots. I washed and styled her hair and put her in a white longer dress with wonder woman printed all over it for now. I am so tempted to paint her boots black and give her a goth make over.

I am legitimately not a huge fan of the fake Monster High dolls. Why? Because they look ugly. Very ugly.
Oh, and I am starting to collect the G3 Monster High dolls.

I have some MH bootlegs, they're really fun! Also have some EAH ones.
I have two Wydownas, they have the blue lipstick of I heart Fashion so I think mine are safely the real ones lol
But I do agree some of the fakes are pretty decent looking

I had a couple "Gothic girls" fakes and I honestly miss them. A draculaita and Frankie. The ones on the Bratz bodies that had barbie feet. I still have a dress or two from one of the fashion packs but they're barbie sized. Lol
