Predator. It came on a generac pressure washer. I had ported and polished the 196 hemi head so I incorporated it in my current 212 hemi build. I discovered when I tore down the new 212 hemi head the castings were DIFFERENT! The inside markings are the same. But the new hemi head has a number on the outside rear the old one does not. Both have the 27/25 valves but the 195 hemi head have WAY bigger portd than the 212. As big as the ones on my rtc-6 212 head everybody raves about! I've looked EVERYWHERE online and cannot find ANY info on this. It's few and far between but I found a little about the 196 hemi. It came with a flat top piston and is the same block style as the 212 hemi. I'd like to hear your knowledge on this if you will sir. Thank you very much

Hi Chris! There are several different stock heads available on the market. When looking into building one for mild performance it's a good idea to check the valve sizes and look into the intake port. Some castings are highly restricted while others have a much more generous port size. As an example, the heads on the Predator 224 engines have a great looking intake port right from the factory. By contrast most of the 212cc heads are pretty restricted. The intake port on the 223cc Wildcat hemi engine is restricted terribly! Now any of this can be overcome with some porting work and some time. I always recommend that to begin learning how to port, always start with one of the lesser (junk) castings, that way if you mess it up (grind thru the port etc), it's not the end of the world. But if you're just looking for something that you can bolt on and go as-is for a budget mild performance improvement, I'd suggest a Predator 224cc head. Head porting is an art itself. It takes a lot of know how and practice to get good at it. Even at that, then you get into theory about what flows best for which engine combination. Most beginners end up ruining the flow of their head on their first tries. Now, if you're getting into racing, where money is involved, I'd suggest buying a fully prepared head from someone like EC or Paul's Karts. I've seen both and you'd be hard pressed to improve over their port work. Big topic of discussion! Thanks!

it looks like B&S went to harbor freight and bought their engines and stuck their name on them.. they look just alike.

Hi Chris. Looking forward to this video tear down. I’m wondering if you’ll do a 7hp bilthard tear down and parts comparability

Hi Larry! I've been wondering about those Bilt Hard engines too. I've seen lots of Duromax teardowns on the Tube but none of the Bilt Hard engines. I've been wondering if they're the same engine? The parts for the Briggs CR950 arrived today so we'll get to that one ASAP. I'll share some info about a new $15 billet rod during the Briggs video.

Hey man if u have any info on the 274cc duromax if its good to build or is the 208 better i have a week to choose out all the duromax line up all the way to the 440 which would be the best bet would u go with so i can build my ducar and have a back up just as good if not better

Hi SC! I've not done anything with the Duromax engines. I may order one and have a look at it. From what I've seen online, the blocks on the Duromax are not as good as the Ducar. It looks like a Predator Hemi block.

Been lookin for some new videos from you! I've said it before. I retain info from your videos better than any other! I made a discovery today and I need somebody's input on it... I ha e recently bought and started building a new hemi predator 212 engine. I have another hemi engine , but it's a little different. It's a 196 hemi made by Loncin, same company that builds the hf hemi predator.

Hi Chris! The 196 Hemi engines are mostly good engines. Some of the early engines were really out of balance though. I've had one that required star lock washers to be used on the side cover because the bolts kept vibrating loose! When your engine tries to shake itself apart, that's bad. The later 196 engines that were imported don't seem to suffer from that much out of balance though. I'll have some new videos up soon. Thanks for sticking with the channel my friend, good stuff is coming.
