My favorite floyd album, makes me cry, so emotional! My favorite song off the final cut has to be the gunners dream, when the first verse drops...."Floating down..through the clouds..memories come rushing up to meet me now..in the space between the heavens in the corner of some foreign field....I had a dream, that verse still gets me after all these years! Truly one of the greatest albums of all time
One of my favorite Floyd lyrics of all time: "Ashes and diamonds, foe and friend, we were all equal in the end". That line just hits so hard and it's so incredibly true. You, me, the serial killers, rapists, businessmen, political leaders, all of us are going to die one day, and no matter who you are you cannot escape it. It's almost like the fact that were all going to die should be bringing us together! We only have so long with this amazing opportunity of live we've been given!

This is yet another example of how intelligent Roger and his mates are. The song while quite simple is quite eloquent. The story is easy to decipher...nukes! I imagine Roger was driving somewhere (I hope a Pantera DeTomaso) and this just came to him like San Tropez did over a weekend. The hope at the end of the song is the radio, as if to tell you it was a thought not a reality. "And now the weather tomorrow will be cloudy...scattered showers" Well yeah, it is England! As a side note. I don't know if it is Roger that does the scream, but in other PF songs NOBODY can scream like he can. My eyes well up in tears every time I hear this song!
Two suns in the sunset is a poignant today as ever especially with the talk about Nibiru But I guess it was nukes he was reffering to in the song. If you write about life you will always be on the money as people can relate to that That`s what sells them I reckon It`s hard to find anything you can`t relate to.

His mates had little to do with anything but playing on this album. Wright wasn't even involved. The Keyboardist Richard Wright was fired by Waters during the wall album. Waters was a dick and focused heavily on fighting the "system" through his music. Then he sued Gimour. Like I said, a dick. Yes his scream is next to none, brilliant even in his work during the Syd years in the 60's.
When the album was released, we the fans weren't so sure about it, confronting it with our expectations. Ever since it has grown better for me. Today Far Out magazine ranked Two Suns 3rd out of PF's 10 best songs! But at that time it didn't exactly seem spectacular finish of what was already expected to be the final record with Roger (frictions worsening). In the years of Fugazi at the end of Marillion's 2nd album or Don't Leave Me Now closing Supertramp's Famous Last Words we had expected the last song to be really big - exactly as PF did much later with High Hopes to end The Division Bell. That said, over years I appreciated how fine song this is. With its moody guitar, thrilling bass slides and punches, wonderful sax by Raph Ravenscroft, delicate and crispy rhythm, great lyrics and subtle atmosphere as it wanes and flies off in the end. My only objection that remains is this seems one of several times Nick was replaced on drums - was he unable again? Of course not one of a top group of drummers (can you imagine the necessity to replace Phil or Carl or Neil behind the drumkit in 1980s?). But fortunately Andy Newmark did a splendid job on drums. Today I know this really is a hell of a song!

The rusty wire that holds the cork that keeps the ANGER in. There aren't too many ways to interpret that line. This world is filled with anger and hate, and sometimes it seems as if it's going to just explode. And in the song, that wire "gives way" and *suddenly* - it's DAY again. Just like that. The anger explodes in a rain of nuclear weapons, turning late afternoon into daylight again. I'm sure there may be other ways of spinning the lyrics - but as far as I can see, there really isn't much room for totally different interpretations.

Hey Steve! This video is very interesting! I believe we all have a lot to learn from each other as you have said on previous videos. So, maybe I can share some insight to a question you had brought up in this video, about how do these musicians or these types of people, perhaps celebrities, know of such things and come up with these ideas such as this? Well, it’s not a coincidence by any chance. Throughout my research... and study of the Bible... I have found that God let’s us know, that the devil or satan is a right wing angel in with God before his fall. His most beautiful creation. And with that, his voice and ability to sing better than any creation he had created. As it is taught, satan reaches people more so in music than in any other form because that is his essence of his creation. So, many musicians have said they were possessed by the devil or some evil spirit and he had made them famous for his gain to send messages through them and for him. The devil is preaching his word through music to manipulate the masses while mimicking Gods work to create the illusion that he is God. We all must be super careful on what information we receive or perceive to be truthful because the work of evil will influence the the masses very meticulously if we fall victim to it. Jason A on UA-cam has many psychological analysis of these very examples in many of his videos too. Love him! I hope you find his videos insightful! God Bless 😇❤️🙏

1983, the year NASA discovered Planet x, look it up .. and for the last few years, reports all over the internet of people seeing "two suns" in the sky.. interesting
Nibiru / Planet X
Dr. Barky Von Schnauzer Doesn't exist. No proof.
Actually it should be Planet IX
Catalina 10***
Dr. Barky Von Schnauzer how strange I thought the exact same thing...a premonition
+Pete Is about Nuclear weapons, nothing to do with Nibiru
Talking about the other brown dawrf that causes the Kill shot Cme; melting us all in seconds. In an instant we are all reduced to the same.
Leaving only charcoal
Ashes and diamonds. Foe and friend. We are all equal.
They say nuclear weapons do the same thing... but I don’t believe in falsely described planets or falsely described weapons.

This song is OVERRATED in my opinion, there are far better songs on the album such as the album title track, The Final Cut (song), Your Possible Pasts, When The Tigers Broke Free, Not Now John, Gunners Dream, Post-War Dream and Southampton Dock
One of the weakest songs of RW...
Ivan Sarria I think you are wrong
Even him said so in one of his interviews
"The gunner's dream" in the same album
