honestly the actual logo is already pretty creepy, but your new version definitely takes the cake haha also I thought the hoodie was gonna be a merch plug at the end and now I'm sad it isn't, that hoodie is rad. 🥺😭
I was scared of the movie WALL-E as a kid. That movie made me realize that the world was going to end and that I, and everyone I knew, was going to die one day. Even know the movie freaks me out. The landscape being nothing but crumbling building and trash is just a big nope for me
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you’re able I’d love to buy that hoodie as merch! the design is fantastic and I’d love to support you that way! I’m aware making merch is hard but man do I need that hoddie (im not even finish ajsjdjdjdhf)
There was quite a lot of "experimental animation" from 70-80s in Soviet controlled area. I can name one particular cartoon that is really in the theme of these drawing series - "wow! a talking fish" by Armenfilm studio. There is a monster that look like an amalgamation of random creatures, and always shifting forms too.
I mean, in terms of PSA usefulness, I'd say Varokaa Heikkoa Jäätä is at least interested in teaching how to survive the situation. Though when I saw it as a kid (prolly one of the first airings) it scared the HECK out of me XD
My childhood “trauma” is the loud THX logo sound and then eventually I became scared of the robot that would fix the THX logo. I’d cry. Just a very loud startling sound for a 2-4 year old
this animation is responsible to about 99% of all of my childhood nightmares, I think it's the way they constantly break the 4th wall, making eye contact to tell the child they know the child is watching. anyway, 30+ years later I still got jumpscared by that thumbnail 😂 I would totally wear that hoodie, I'd be like those people who tattoo their worst fear on their skin, except lightcore.
I honestly learn so much about Finland watching your videos. In terms of what childhood media traumatized me, definitely the heffalumps and woozles song from "Whinnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day." The designs of the monsters always terrified me..... And that song.....
Really loved your design, and really like how you did the 2 in the bird ^^ A small childhood trauma I have was one story from the show Adventures From the Book of Virtues (I think). It started as a poor dude was passing necessities and his rich friend never helped because it would destroy their friendship, one day the rich friend asked his poor friend to call a doctor for his kid it was raining and the poor dude asked for a horse to help him but the rich friend not wanting to destroy their friendship denied, the poor dude end up falling on a river and drowning and the rich friend learn he should had helped his friend when he was alive. I still remember they made the poor dude trying to save himself and hold anything he could in vain, to this day I'm afraid of rivers lol
I got scared as a kid about the headless witch in return to OZ. And the man eating scarabs in Brendan Fraser's the mummy movie. I also refused to watch nightmare before Christmas because I found all the characters too frightening to look at. Also the scene in all dogs go too heaven where the dog falls back to earth and the voice says he can never come back brought up an existential terror I didn't know I had as a kid.
I love that you teach us about Finland through your childhood nightmares ❤My favorite Polish cursed animation is 'Jak działa jamniczek', I'm glad I found it only as an adult, fortunately it's not for kids haha
Emimi this is illegal! you can't keep getting away with it. You're just too damn good and the artworks (both versions) and the shirt design are just amazing and work so well even without any context. But they're even better with your fun and horrifying story! sell prints of this in the future please!
Amazing as always, love the idea of drawing the characters in the shape of the logo! The version with air bubbles forming text looks even cooler. Immediately made me think of a poster or clothes design. Personally, my childhood trauma show was probably 'The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack'. Especially the moments when the style would get more detailed...
Almost nothing scared me as a kid but this literally caused me nightmares. I'm also scared of water especially if i can't see through it and hate swimming so it might have worked a bit too well. Awesome art though! And if you're ever able to sell these hoodies I for sure would be one of the first ones to get my hands on them.
my first and main childhood cartoon trauma was a soviet cartoon called "Heart of a brave man" based on an udege folk tale, there was this character, the swamp king Boko, i was so afraid of him that i was (and still am) convinced he lived in our bathroom pipes
also for childhood trauma two things that come to mind from media are the original watership down movie (specifically the snare scene and the end with the dog) and the dark crystal (my dad showed it to me when i was like 4 and i already didnt like puppets/mascot/suit type things) LMAO i still havent finished the original dark crystal movie BUT watership down is one of my fav books and movies now as an adult
My childhood trauma's are the lion and bear scene from teletubbies. And there was a Dutch show to make you learn to read, called ik mik loreland, and the villain was creepy af. His name was karbonkel. XD
One of my childhood spooky moments from TV was definitely the Hiisi from Hui Hai Hiisi. That deep voice, he was huge, scary, intimidating and angry. As a kid that 'threat of everyone getting caught and eaten' was so real lol. Obviously as an adult it wouldn't affect me that much, but it was something. You know what was even Worse though? The freaking Kivijätti. This mf. An even lower, deeper voice, growling even. Mysterious in a terrifying way. Wasn't truly friendly either, I think this fella could have gotten the kids and the fairy killed too if it wanted to lol. And, well, the red glowing eyes ain't exactly helping here haha. Man. That thing would still terrify me
I'm a little upset I can't buy the shirt. It's fine. I'm fine. For trauma, Lue jos uskallat -horror story collection by Pirkko-Liisa Perttula caused me some sleepless nights as a 6-year-old, mainly Vihreä käsi (The green hand), a story where a child wakes up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, only finding a green disembodied hand on the first step of the stairs and it keeps getting closer every time the child passes the stairs, until finding it on her bedside table. She goes to sleep anyway and the hand strangles her. This story fucked me up so bad because we didn't have stairs in our house, so I thought the hand would come any minute and strangle me to my bed. Also Mummo on vielä vetreä (Grandma's still nimble), a story where a grandma goes to Sauna and she notices how easily she can bend her legs behind her neck, everything's fun and exciting, having then her daughter find her a few weeks later, dead and withered like a raisin because she got stuck. I never recovered from that mental image : ) The book was so strange, there would be really childish stories like an ant sailing on a leaf inside a piss pot, lightly horror themed Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish -jokes and then I get whiplashed by stories where people would die in horrible ways.
Amazing (and disturbing) work as always!!! Watership down definietly traumatised my 6 year old self, nowdays I love the film lol. BUT the magic pink house from Teletubbies STILL triggers my fight or flight, 4 year old me cried whenever it came on.
When I was a kid there’s a book called A bad case of stripes where this girl skin and body would change with different patterns and colors and then she was turning into her bedroom ALL BECAUSE SHE DIDN’T WANT TO EAT LIMA BEAN ANYMORE! I used to hate Lima beans as a kid….safe to say I started eating them after reading that story.
I freaking love it, it's so terrifying holy shiet xD Also I def want that hoodie :D The vibe in this is so superb and cold and creepy and LET ME TELL YOU ONE MEMORY OF MINE: As a kid, I loved to swim, in lakes, in swim hall (emt uimahalli xD) and would use these big snorkel glasses to follow fish and look at the sand. Well, one time I went a bit far and while diving, came right by a northern pike. Like it's face was way darn close to my face. I freaked the hell out of water and never again used snorkels after that. Also pretty much stopped swimming. "Fun" times.
I hated as a child the show Urpo and Turpo from Pikku kakkonen. I don't even know what was so disturbing about it to me, but i swear i get flashbacks every time i hear the theme song.
What gave me trauma back then was the moon "Luna" from the series "The Bear from the Big Blue House" Idk why okay, but this face of the moon scared the sh*t out of me haha
I desperately want that sketch you started of the care bear and furby as the ending scene of midsommer as some sort of shirt or print I think about it ALL the time 😂
Honestly, if you or anyone here enjoys childhood trauma media, you guys should totally check out "The Brothers Grimm" from 2005. The special effects didn't age well imo, but damn, that film destroyed me as a kid. Don't want to spoil too much in case someone's interested, but I can only say that I was very, VERY afraid of horses and birds flying right above my head after watching that.
I genuinely feel like more PSA's need to start being disturbing again. The point of a public service announcement is to warn people, to spread a collective fear of a danger and how they should handle that situation
For some dumb reason little me was terrified of SpongeBob and it's because of the one episode where plankton takes control of SpongeBob and trys to get the Krabby patty formula. I was a weird kid ok for some reason I thought he was going to come to my house. I can watch the show now with no problems at all now that I'm a adult
Holy heckity heck! AAA! Niin HALVATUN hieno!äfklaäsdkaäslgk. Teetkö joskus näistä kirjan? Niinku taidekirjan? Vai printtejä? Tai jotain. Meinaan KIESUS! Heittäisin mielelläni rahaa siihen suuntaan!
The Animals of Farthing wood traumatised me - especially the scene of the butcher bird impaling a mouse on the thorns 🥲 Oh and the movie Felidae. Watched it on youtube after seeing scenes of it in an AMV as a young teen. The scene where the intestines and dead cats fall from the sky immediately made me turn it off 🤢
that traumatised me as a kid as well as Mörkö 😱 what tablet or drawing table are you using? i'm looking into finding a good one with a screen, i have wacom black tablet without the screen and it is quite hard to draw lol, but ill try to learn
It's really silly, but as a child I was f*cking terrified by the aliens turning humans into skeletons in the "Mars Attacks!" (1996) movie. 😅😂 Also, I think it was in one of the Indiana Jones movies, there was a decaying face in a wall and it literally haunted me for years. 🥲
honestly the actual logo is already pretty creepy, but your new version definitely takes the cake haha also I thought the hoodie was gonna be a merch plug at the end and now I'm sad it isn't, that hoodie is rad. 🥺😭
*gasp *
Don’t you ever talk to me and my 2 agail
I was scared of the movie WALL-E as a kid. That movie made me realize that the world was going to end and that I, and everyone I knew, was going to die one day. Even know the movie freaks me out. The landscape being nothing but crumbling building and trash is just a big nope for me
The creepy Pikku Kakkonen art looks like one of those surreal cover art of an album that you can find at the record store.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you’re able I’d love to buy that hoodie as merch! the design is fantastic and I’d love to support you that way! I’m aware making merch is hard but man do I need that hoddie (im not even finish ajsjdjdjdhf)

I watched some soviet era animation awhile ago and can confirm, the sound design is usually what gets me
Wow that's creepy as hell! Great job giving me something to talk about in therapy!
I mean, in terms of PSA usefulness, I'd say Varokaa Heikkoa Jäätä is at least interested in teaching how to survive the situation. Though when I saw it as a kid (prolly one of the first airings) it scared the HECK out of me XD
Hell yeah this is gonna haunt me forever! Love when Emimi makes things that I’ll never unsee
My childhood “trauma” is the loud THX logo sound and then eventually I became scared of the robot that would fix the THX logo. I’d cry. Just a very loud startling sound for a 2-4 year old
How is it that every time Emimi posts a new video, I look at the preview picture and immediately go: "Emimi, no!" xD
Love it as always!!
Ihan mahtava piirrustus. Rakastan tätä sun Ghiblistä inspiroitua tyyliä. On aina mukavaa löytää lisää suomalaisia artisteja :)

Me: Babe, wake up, a new Emimi video just dropped!
My cat: 😾
YESSSSS i was gonna say this would make a SICK tshirt/clothing design!!!
Another great creepy art from Emimi
Really loved your design, and really like how you did the 2 in the bird ^^

I love everything about this Master Piece. Please i need this hoodie ❤

Oh my god that varokaa heikkoa jäätä bear thing was so horrifying as a kid
Almost nothing scared me as a kid but this literally caused me nightmares. I'm also scared of water especially if i can't see through it and hate swimming so it might have worked a bit too well.
Awesome art though! And if you're ever able to sell these hoodies I for sure would be one of the first ones to get my hands on them.
A+ this short freaked me out when I was a kid too! Also I want that shirt pls

Your commentary is genuinely so hilarious 😂
I'm a little upset I can't buy the shirt.
It's fine.
I'm fine.

I was afraid of the Hattivatti more so than the Groke. And Katla's fire from the brothers Lionheart
Oh wow I had completely forgotten that drowning scene but damn when I remember it now I was fucked up after lmaoo
Amazing (and disturbing) work as always!!!
Watership down definietly traumatised my 6 year old self, nowdays I love the film lol.

Your videos bring me so much joy! I would totally buy that shirt design, let us know if you ever sell it!
Oh wow, isn't it one of my sweet childhood traumas 😂😱
But this time I absolutely LOVE IT 💥 Awesome stuff!
Lovely art as always. The fish is cute. And I believe the ghost character is lore accurate, it would look like that irl.
So I'm definitely going to start binge watching your channel while I manifest being better at art 2:22
not gonna lie, i really want the hoodie as well :'D
i also was so scared of that short as a kid.

Love it, love everything about it❤😂
Thanks for sharing
Yeees a second part! More art of media I never knew existed that will haunt me 😍
I hated as a child the show Urpo and Turpo from Pikku kakkonen. I don't even know what was so disturbing about it to me, but i swear i get flashbacks every time i hear the theme song.
I love you. Your mind is beautiful
What gave me trauma back then was the moon "Luna" from the series "The Bear from the Big Blue House"

wow i’ve never encountered this animation bc i’m from the west and i can say as an adult seeing it for the first time i am now also traumatized 💀

It's giving Beasts of Burden: Lost. If you know, you know.
I genuinely feel like more PSA's need to start being disturbing again. The point of a public service announcement is to warn people, to spread a collective fear of a danger and how they should handle that situation
Missed your videos, can't wait to be disturbed, so excited
this is incredible. the background/setting is amazing!! 😍💜
I want to buy the hoodie…

I totally get you! Mars Attacks is one of my fav movies, but as a child I was absolutely terrified of the "Martian girl" 🥲 (Ok I still am haha)
