one of my favourite thing to do with my ocs is to make them in the sims 3 and just leave them on free will for a bit. it gets chaotic sometimes and i've even gotten story ideas from seeing my ocs interracting with each other this way. also making them and picking out their traits is really fun as well!
@@s_asLN you could make them as plumbots if you have into the future, simbots if you have ambitions or servos if you have sims 2 open for business. you could also make a human version of them as well!
I do that a lot! My 11GB mod folder exists for this reason. I like to design their houses and do character photo shoots and stuff too when I'm done making them.
Recently started an OC run with miitopia with a mix of my main OC groups, it’s been so silly and fun having them interact when they aren’t even from the same canon. My player and the second party member canonically are against each other too so it’s fun seeing them be friends
YESSSS it’s so wacky, but it’s also really funny when they somehow get scarily close to the canon. One of my OCs who’s canonically an exorcist started asking another if he “saw ghosts a lot” and it made me giggle

I use Foretelling for all my 260-ish characters. As a writer and artist in one place, it is very handy. Especially after reading their terms of service and such, most dependable place to work on. I own a bluetooth mouse and keyboard to write a lot better on that app. It is also really nice if I take long trips with nothing to do, just fleshing out my characters.

I love how if i made a playlist for any character i would make it would just be some really really specific and weird selection of the music i listen to 💀😭
i make my ocs in the sims 3/4 alongside canon characters from the show/movie/anime they are set in! i also love writing headcanons for them so i sometimes do MBTI personality quizzes to figure their traits! or i even use zodiac sign and making their birth chart too! (i love astrology and human design too! 🥹) i also do collages, clothing styles, themes and designated songs/playlists for them too. 💗
i really recommend art jams on magma, and seeing how others draw your ocs. its honestly helped me so much by making me see how other interpret my designs , and it makes it so much clearer the mistakes in my designs that I'm blind to
I have a very deep connection to my OCs too, I'm honestly so afraid to annoy people with my stories xD I created a bunch of them in Sims 3. ewe I also wrote a lot about their backstories, I could fill books with their dramatic pasts /D Oh! and I wrote chat-logs/interaction between them when I was really bored. Them masseging back and forth. Roplaplays are fun too. Letting your characters interct with other people's OCs.
I actually use Foretelling to keep track of which characters are important in which book that im writing and also for my word count. I saw it on the video and thats why i clicked, but i definitely love the rock and the hunger games ideas!
My headcanon is that Miitopia is a play my characters are staging at my Tomodachi Life island's Concert Hall I even made some songs based on it so it seems more like a musical LMAO (Though the first two were just some kind of advertisement/the actors' comments. The last one though, was based on the ending) And what's more, my story is called "Utopia Zone" so... You know... LMAO
Another fun thing to do is make them into a doll! It of course takes a while but in the end, its a really nice thing to have, and is super fun to make!

I SEE MIITOPIA IN THUMBNAIL, I CLICK, I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED!!!!!! I conveniently have a VERY big autistic hyperfixation on Miitopia and literally would not be where I am with my OCs without it, I am so very normal about the game...... My OCs all basically started off as characters I made on my Switch playthrough but over time they now have the whole sci-fi world and story I'm slowly building up for them (because I am a HUGE sci-fi nerd) and it's genuinely amazing to see how far I've come with my silly Miis, I would not be where I am without it, and it's genuinely my favorite video game of all time! (no joke, I literally was about to quit OC creation forever until the switch remake came out due to burnout and cringing at old self-insert stuff...) (fun fact: my YT pfp is actually my main OC/story protagonist!! In case you guys are wondering, they are a stubborn scientist and also has the main hero role in Miitopia!) As my favorite streamer once said: "The best thing about Miitopia is that you get to make your own story." and those words couldn't be any truer. (Failboat's Miitopia Let's Plays my beloved, I highly recommend them if you haven't seen it and they are genuinely so good, they are a prime example of using Miitopia for making OCs and making and improving lore with all the randomized events and dynamics they form as a result.. aaaa i love Miitopia!!!)
My Miitopia fanfiction has done a lot for me, too! My time in the community has had ups and downs, but ultimately, for better or for worse, I wouldn't be the same without Lost Star, and it means the absolute world to me.
I have a special interest in my ocs but I also have bad paranoia with them at the same time which makes it hard to do a lot of stuff with them but miitopia was such a fun way to add them it was legit the only reason I bought the game. 😭🙏 Im still hoping for a tomodachi life on the switch or on the next console so I can add them on there too 😞 I will legit buy the new nintendo console if they add tomodachi life just for my ocs... 🙏
In a story I'm nurturing like a child since years my characters have these kind of disc-shaped capsules that contain their powers and release it when made rotating. Powers represent each and every of them in their own uniqueness, as they make their best interest shine in capabilities and aesthetic, basically the most vocal version of themselves. I used those flat looking devices to further represent this unicity, by questioning myself: "if the character was a graphic style, how would it look like?" and I'd draw a bunch of examples, then make it a bit more tidy and put it on the capsule. So I really find myself in the "turn em into rocks" thing. Also I do have at least 10 YT character Playlists as we speak. And I'm absolutely planning to do more of them
this video came to me at the perfect time, I'm sitting here, wanting to start working on my worldbuilding project. I didn't know where to begin, so I procrastinated and opened youtube n this was the first video I saw. Thank you sooooo much for mentioning Fortelling, I feel like I've just been handed a map that leads directly to treasure.
Miitopia is literally how I created my OCs because I was just creating random characters in it and making up the story as I go and now I have a whole fantasy/sci-fi novel in my head 😭
One type of craft I love is if you have a medium where you can create pixel sprites of your OC (like making your character in Stardew Valley, for example, or any video game/dollmaker that has a pixel style), you can translate the pixels into perler beads! Get the colors you need, iron, and you basically have a figure/wall art of your OC. Since I do have a little bit of experience, I have some Pokemon and Danganronpa-inspired pixel art that I've turned into perlers! It's also worth mentioning that if you have LOADS of extra time, you can customize events in the Hunger Games simulator, too, to add ways for characters to interact/fight. My favorite gag is to make a character die from a beesting or stepping on a rake.

for making characters into figures, try Chibi Chop Shop to find nendoroid parts to Frankenstein together!!! i have made so many of my characters as nendoroids THEYRE S O CUUUTE, and you can even give them different facial expressions
Something ive done recently is make pinterest boards with things i think they'd own like clothing and plushies and room decor and stuff like that, its super fun
I did a miitopia run with my OCs and it was literally the most fun ive had with them in ages,, so much so infact it developed into its own AU because i liked how their dynamics (n lowkey outfits) turned out in the playthrough :>
i like to record quotes from like memes or posts or just things i watch/read and write them as my characters. so like incorrect quotes, i have a whole section on my notes app for these and there are like 400 notes its bad but its so fun
Oh I do that sometimes!!! I sometimes watch something and then go like "oh shit that is SOMETHING that [insert any of my ocs] would definitely do/say!!!" Especially on funni memes/vines or whatever 😭
ive struggled for a couple years connecting to my ocs - theyve stayed with me for so long but ive had an up and down relationship with my understanding of them as characters, so this was a really helpful list of ideas to connect and produce more interactions with them haha esp with art block

I started using fortelling the minute you mentioned it on your video , OH MY GOD I WAS HOOKED!!! I spent my friday,afternoon writing and fiending over it also used picrew to make their profiles. Im using this both for my ocs and for a sapphic gravity falls fanfic im making (at this point they are also ocs💀)
This might be considered cringe to some, but even to this day I really like combining my OC stuff with pre-existing media. Like, hey! What if instead of the canonical evil clones in this horror game, they were super mutated evil clones, and they only exist because my villain OC appeared one day and started the apocalypse? This only really works for those who like to make AUs, but it’s fun to plan out! And of course, then you can draw/write all your non canon interactions between the 10393947394 AU variants of the same guy 😊

Thank you! I really love my characters but unfortunately, due to my own poor choices, art has become something I find heavy and burdenful ( though it’s slowly been getting fixed up with wiser decision’s ) and I really really want to indulge more into my characters. Even if I didn’t burn myself out, art still takes a long time to do and theres too many ideas and not enough time in my short lifespan so this is just so so helpful and awesome. ( Also I really like your character banner thing, it’s so cool and I don’t see too much of things like it. )
these are awesome ideas!! there's this website i love to use called campfire writing! (there is a free version but a few of the paid modules are worth it in my opinion). it's a very cool website and it's really fun for coming up with worldbuilding and character stuff. also making incorrect quotes is so much fun... if you have screenshots of funny things people have said that you feel like fit your ocs, block out the names, and replace them with your oc's names, or remake them using a social media chat generator. it's very funny.
Me and my friend put our Oc’s in the hunger ganes simulator. Once I got „Lucio js losing his sanity“ and since he’s usually a really confident, happy and nice guy we went down a whole rabbit hole about how and why he’d go insane. It was a bit cringe but really fun making this insane Lucio Au 😂
I use Pluot and Storyplotter (both are free apps) and they're great for planning stories but also character worlds! Pluot is better imo for characterization specifically and Storyplotter is better imo for the rest of that kinda stuff!

I have a special interest in my ocs but I also have bad paranoia with them at the same time which makes it hard to do a lot of stuff with them but miitopia was such a fun way to add them it was legit the only reason I bought the game. 😭🙏

In a story I'm nurturing like a child since years my characters have these kind of disc-shaped capsules that contain their powers and release it when made rotating. Powers represent each and every of them in their own uniqueness, as they make their best interest shine in capabilities and aesthetic, basically the most vocal version of themselves. I used those flat looking devices to further represent this unicity, by questioning myself: "if the character was a graphic style, how would it look like?" and I'd draw a bunch of examples, then make it a bit more tidy and put it on the capsule. So I really find myself in the "turn em into rocks" thing.
Also I do have at least 10 YT character Playlists as we speak. And I'm absolutely planning to do more of them
Another fun thing is making Pinterest boards for them which can also help with drawing =)

Miitopia is literally how I created my OCs because I was just creating random characters in it and making up the story as I go and now I have a whole fantasy/sci-fi novel in my head 😭
One type of craft I love is if you have a medium where you can create pixel sprites of your OC (like making your character in Stardew Valley, for example, or any video game/dollmaker that has a pixel style), you can translate the pixels into perler beads! Get the colors you need, iron, and you basically have a figure/wall art of your OC. Since I do have a little bit of experience, I have some Pokemon and Danganronpa-inspired pixel art that I've turned into perlers!
It's also worth mentioning that if you have LOADS of extra time, you can customize events in the Hunger Games simulator, too, to add ways for characters to interact/fight. My favorite gag is to make a character die from a beesting or stepping on a rake.

for making characters into figures, try Chibi Chop Shop to find nendoroid parts to Frankenstein together!!! i have made so many of my characters as nendoroids THEYRE S O CUUUTE, and you can even give them different facial expressions
If you have the sims. Create a sim for your oc. That’s what I always do haha.

This might be considered cringe to some, but even to this day I really like combining my OC stuff with pre-existing media. Like, hey! What if instead of the canonical evil clones in this horror game, they were super mutated evil clones, and they only exist because my villain OC appeared one day and started the apocalypse? This only really works for those who like to make AUs, but it’s fun to plan out! And of course, then you can draw/write all your non canon interactions between the 10393947394 AU variants of the same guy 😊

Thank you! I really love my characters but unfortunately, due to my own poor choices, art has become something I find heavy and burdenful ( though it’s slowly been getting fixed up with wiser decision’s ) and I really really want to indulge more into my characters. Even if I didn’t burn myself out, art still takes a long time to do and theres too many ideas and not enough time in my short lifespan so this is just so so helpful and awesome.
( Also I really like your character banner thing, it’s so cool and I don’t see too much of things like it. )

these are awesome ideas!! there's this website i love to use called campfire writing! (there is a free version but a few of the paid modules are worth it in my opinion). it's a very cool website and it's really fun for coming up with worldbuilding and character stuff. also making incorrect quotes is so much fun... if you have screenshots of funny things people have said that you feel like fit your ocs, block out the names, and replace them with your oc's names, or remake them using a social media chat generator. it's very funny.
I literally make a playlist for every single character I get. It’s so fun and I consider myself an expert on it.

I use Pluot and Storyplotter (both are free apps) and they're great for planning stories but also character worlds! Pluot is better imo for characterization specifically and Storyplotter is better imo for the rest of that kinda stuff!

I also got one: character prompt generators. Whether its incorrect quotes, otp prompts, theres a bunch of those on the internet. Really fun, too.
