My pt149, 90th and this expressive can be unscrewed easily. I can't unscrew my elbphilharmonie or homer. It's confusing. I bet if I used a tool for the Homer and Elbphilharmonie once, I would be able to unscrew it by hand after.
Good to see you back! Really enjoyed your gusto in trying to unscrew the nib unit. I have a 149 calligraphy flex nib and after seeing this I tried unscrewing, and it worked! So no need to buy the special tool (I have the tool for the pre-1992(?) Montblanc, but not for the newer ones). Also great to properly clean the barrel.
Looking forward to your comparison vs the 149 and 146 calligraphy nibs. How would you compare it to the 1.3mm 23k palladium nibs on the Homo sapiens? I have one and that is a very soft and springy stub nib that's enjoyable to write with on a good paper.
I have one 23K Pd 1.3 stub and it's really wet. Fun bounce, but so wet some of the line variation is lost. I have asked a friend about his 23K Pd nibs and he said most of his where above average to firehose level of wetness. Makes it a little hard to use on most papers, and on the paper that works, only one side.
Well done Leo.. beautiful pen.. your videos and intro are among the top in my opinion.. Hey, I bought a lovely pad of Medeovallis paper with envelopes.. and wrote on the blotting sheet! I don’t think there are any groups where I live. I’m very shy too. The 149 you show looks really nice. People love hating on MB, but I think they make well made and consistent writers. I have a couple - one that I inherited and one I bought second hand. I don’t think I’ll ever make enough money to buy one of those special ones ... but I can dream! What’s the website? Or join a smaller facebook fountain pen group - like "the inkwell". The 2019 calligraphy 149 is a soft M. This is a soft italic with very different tipping shape. The 2020 calligraphy is inspired by the naginata nib. All three have the same nib engraving.
@@InquisitiveQuill The second release in their calligraphy line, also called the curved nib (based on their own promotional material), originally scheduled to come out in September 2020, but delayed to 2021 , has a different nib design. Too bad you can't do a side-by-side comparison of their regular calligraphy nib and this expressive nib
Do you have the address of the knock-off body maker? I like the look of ye olde MBs, but I find their marketing practices repulsive. I'm a bit surprised that they're actually attempting to make flex nibs. I didn't think they were that invested in actually writing.

A friend helped me get it from taobao because they wouldn't ship directly here. That's all I know unfortunately.
