Can you imagine thinking it's okay to tell someone who just went through major surgery for health reasons that they looked better before?? While they're still recovering??
*Can't relate*
It's insane. People are ridiculous. You are just as beautiful as you were before. And more importantly, your health issues have been addressed.
Just asking. Did you only have surgery on you jaw for health reason or did you have more? Not judging. I‘m asking before you look so different. And I don’t say you look worse than before. Just different what is normal. But you chin looks shorter now, the nose looks different and even the eyes. Or is this all because of the jaw? Nevertheless hope you get well soon!
I talked about it in part one but I got genioplasty too (jaw and chin are usually both done together) you can see it in the x-rays, they cut it to move it more forward.
The nose and eyes are simply very swollen. Any movement of the upper jaw will change your nose at least temporarily. Since I'm only 3 months post op and it takes over a year for swelling to go down, it will take a while but hopefully it will go back mostly to what it was before!
@@beautywithemilie what about your teeth in your upper mouth, they look very different? Did they remove some?
The elastics brought down my 4 front teeth to perfect my bite. My canines took the opportunity to go up so I'll get braces soon to fix it!
Also, wtf is wrong with people who’re leaving rude comments. “Not to be rude” no you’re being rude and ignorant, y’all don’t know what recovering is apparently. It’ll take up to a year to recover, her face is still swollen and is still fresh from surgery. What she needs now is love and support not some judging grandmas
Merie Ham If anyone has to preface what they are going to say with “not to be rude,” then they probably shouldn’t be saying it at all.
I scrolled through for a while and everyone has been positive. I don't see any rude comments.
Keep scrolling, the party is at the bottom 😂
Merie Ham Haven’t read the rude comments, but THANK YOU for standing up for what’s right.
@@beautywithemilie ohhhh okay.
“i could actually feel air through my sinuses”
it’s so fascinating when ppl say this after corrective surgery!!! welcome to
your new world :D
Seriously it's magical!! haha
I have a severely deviated septum that's always caused me problems (constant sinus infections and congestion, snoring) and I've been putting off the surgery for years. But hearing you say "I could actually feel air through my sinuses" just made up my mind. The recovery will be worth it if the surgery improves my ability to breathe ... which, of course, improves my quality of life.
I'm waiting for this moment. I'm having the surgery in October and while I'm nervous I'm so excited for the possibility to actually breathe. I had a deviated septum and had surgery last year not realizing that my misalignment is likely what caused it to begin with. Hoping that my speech and singing is no longer hindered
Considering you've only been recovering for three months you are looking fantastic! No matter what anyone says being able to breathe is always better than pleasing their ridiculous sensibilities.
Jaw surgery is BRUTAL. I honestly expected you to look much worse after only 3 months! My friend was completely unrecognizable for at least 6 months. You're looking great and I'm glad to see you're back :)
I don't think people realize I look great for 3 months post op haha
The most obvious part is my right side nerves lagging a bit but it takes a year so no worries so far!
@@DuchessTheAristocat good luck for your surgery! I was scheduled to have it when I was 16 for my underbite, but I was scared too and refused to have it. Now I'm an adult and my insurance won't pay for it anymore. I wish I wouldn't have chickened out..
@@beautywithemilie this requieres a lot! You're so brave, and you look Amazing for 3 months omg. 🥵.
Meme Lover me too D: I’m scared 😭
@@DuchessTheAristocat me too! December 5th
I’m sorry people are being so rude in the comments. It’s really brave of you to share this journey online, and I bet you are going to help a lot of people. You are very beautiful!
Thank you! I'm hoping the videos will be helpful to anyone that goes through this!
In a year I'll probably laugh at all of these comments because I won't look that different without the swelling and stiffness 😂
@@beautywithemilie Yeah this was so interesting. I'm glad you put your videos up. You look amazing
I LOVE that they washed your hair. I’ve had multiple surgeries in the US and never have seen this wonderful of treatment. Be well, you’re so brave to do this.
Wow! It is a staggering change. You definitely look different. Your face isn’t nearly as long. That being said I always thought you were so beautiful and never noticed anything off balance about your face. You still look beautiful and when the swelling goes down in time you will be even more happy. Congrats on being on the other side!!!
I think the change will be somewhat subtle after my recovery (which was what I was hoping for!). Things will be a bit more balances but no-one will be able to really pinpoint what's different.
The swelling is definitely making my face wider so it helps give the illusion it's shorter too! Thank you :)
Before: Beautiful
After: Still beautiful
:)
😄😍😍😍
I don’t see no difference
@@Afronad lol you blind?
@@Afronad me too, slight difference in a good way
Let me state the obvious... Corrective Double Jaw is a major surgery (for anyone who missed part 1, it was a surgery I needed to correct jaw deformities which affected my quality of life) so after 3 months I'm still recovering (it takes a whole year!) but I wanted to update you on how things have been going for me since :)
I don't even know you personally but I am so proud of you! It is a very big surgery, very scary and you did it!!!! Omg. Hope everything will stay good, heal good and you feel better breathing and living when you are fully healed.
The best of luck!
I hope your healing process is quick! Love your videos!!
So glad to see you are doing well! Best wishes for continued recovery! xoxo
will you have to wear the buttons and elastics for the rest of your life?
@@amnan5627 No I'm already done with them! I have a night guard and I'll have to wear braces for a short while to bring back down my canines!
How uncomfortable it must have been not to be able to breathe through your nose! I get so upset when I get a cold and i get a stuffy nose, having that all the time I just can’t imagine.. I’m so glad the korean clinic took good care of you. Happy and healthy recovery! Breathe the fresh air through your nostrils again friend! ❤️
Right?? haha I haven't slept with my open once since the surgery it's crazy!
The rudeness is unbelievable. Of course, Emily is so selfish to want to be able to breath and chew and be without constant pain. Emily really, what were you thinking?
I know I'm a horrible person lol
BeautywithEmilyFox they are projecting to be honest
It's incredible how rude people are being in this comment section. Shame on you.
You look great girl and I find these videos really interesting. Wishing you a speedy and smooth recovery!
Seriously... considering I'm only 3 months post op I look great!
@@beautywithemilie Yeah the swelling is only noticeable really around your cheekbones, which is pretty amazing for just 3 months!
Water off a duck's back. Do you, you look great.
Wow. That is a lot to go through. I’m glad you’re doing better. You’re beautiful as always.
aww when they laid a little stuffed doggie on your tummy during the stitch removal 😭
I had heard it wasn't pleasant... it was definitely worst than I expected lol
They gave me a teddy bear during my laser eye surgery, but it was soooo painful that I completely forgot about it. I only remembered like 4 months after. :D
The amount of detail you and your loved ones put into this video to inform your viewers is astounding! You really did document every part with very well done pictures, and you told the story in such a fascinating detail. I'm hoping your recovery will continue to go well and thanks so much for the awesome video!
I am so happy that your quality of life has improved!! You look so beautiful but staying healthy is the number one priority. You are incredibly brave for undergoing this major procedure❤️ I wish you a speedy year of recovery!
The official after picture is hilarious. Between the face shape, the pale foundation, the rest of the makeup and the hair you almost look Korean! XD PS. I've had a couple of major surgeries (neck and mouth/jaw) so I can kind of imagine what you went through and I'm extremely happy everything went well with the surgery and the recovery process :) Hugs from Madrid!
I had a good laugh at it haha Tbh the foundation shade was right tho!
The makeup wasn't done by me in the after so it makes a huge difference too!
@@beautywithemilie Yeah, look at her rock dat Korean brow and side part! You are looking great though, honestly. Thanks for sharing!! :)
This is crazy how well your recovery team took care of you for how many days? That’s considered out patient surgery here in the USA I wish we had such care for surgery like this here in the USA that insurance covered only the rich and famous could get this kind of care after surgery like this which means lots of money!
You're comparing fancy private Korean care with public care? lol
You think the average Korean can afford this? This is Korean care paid for with US $
Average Korean spends more on bone surgery lol
I cannot believe how different you look! Who knew this would change so many things? Love the picture of your surgeon showing you how to smile. Adorable. Keep us updated and wishing you continued healing!
I’m sorry you had to go through this in the first place, it does look very scary. But I am also very happy that your health has improved and you’re still just as pretty as before. Wish you a smooth recovery!
It took me years to gather the courage... Plenty of people never end up doing it because it's so intense but then they have to deal with lots of issues long term. I'm glad it's behind me and that everything went well :)
Meme Lover best wishes!!! Good luck and you will do absolutely amazing
I was born with a cleft lip and palate which meant that I needed 20+ facial operations before the age of 17.. Can tell you it’s so worth it if there’s something you think about everyday and really impacts your comfort or self esteem. That being said it’s so important to realise perfection may never be attainable because we’re always seeing the worst in ourselves.. you just need to find satisfaction on your own and not let it be 100% about how you look. I’ve had 3 jaw surgeries and yep give it a year until you truly Re-assess :) you look great though xx
Wow what an amazing transformation! As a surgical nurse in the USA I don’t see my patients recovery so I appreciate seeing your in depth recovery journey and your advice is really on point!
I’ve always thought you were one of the most beautiful people I’ve seen! I never even notice the asymmetry. I’m sorry it caused you so many issues. Prayers for a quicker recovery. You look fantastic!
I’m very, very happy that you had this opportunity, sweetheart! And, on top of the improvement in your health, you look beautiful! Honestly, I wish I had the chance to have some improvements done and if I had the chance, I would take it, as well. Congratulations! I wish you all the best in your continued recovery! Much love to you, Shelbie =)❤️💋
I love that you shared your journey. This could be extremely helpful to someone going through the same thing. Thank you for being so courageous because people can be so callous. You look gorgeous and I’m so happy that you are feeling better!!
That's a lot to go through!! The difference in the x-rays is amazing, didn't realize how bad the asymmetry was. Glad you got such great care and are doing so well!! Can't wait to see what you look like a year out!!
Wow, I never noticed the extent of the asymmetry until you put the before and after photos next to each other. You look great, I'm glad you're doing so well
The team in Korea seemed absolutely amazing! Good luck for your further recovery!
I'm actually kind of excited because you'll be healthy and feeling so good!! When all the swelling goes down, you will get the slimness back in your face, and I think you won't even look that different! Just feeling a lot better, which is so cool! Let's hope for no complications during these upcoming months.
When you talk your mouth absolutely looks straighter so glad your already having some relief and better quality of life....hope you have a speedy recovery!
Oh My God, Emily. I can’t imagine going through something like this myself. You are a very strong woman. It’s great that you are documenting this for others who may need the same procedure. 🤗
Thank you for being so detailed with your recovery. I’m looking into getting this same surgery and your video was very helpful. Wishing you a smooth recovery💕😊
Ps. To those who don’t know much about this surgery, swelling last for 6-9 months. Therefore results take a while to see because the swelling has to go down so you’re able to see the full results. Commenting on someone’s appearance after surgery is very unnecessary.
If you have any questions don't hesitate! The first week is really rough but afterwards things improve fast!!
@@beautywithemilie did your teeth shift? They look a tiny bit different. I'm sure that because of this surgery there must have been some kind of change going on there as well, right? I'm just curious. 😅
My teeth felt different after the surgery but then while the elastics were bringing down my 4 front teeth to close my bite, my canines decided to go up.. I'm getting braces for a little while to fix it!
Best of luck to you! I hope you have a good experience and quick recovery!
Emily for you to share your personal experience requires major balls that’s the first thing. Haters can hate those are the ones that criticize and call ugly before and after the surgery. Nothing pleases those haters so don’t even try to get down to their level. They are pathetic losers. I wish you the best and fast recovery!
The small things many of us take for granted such as breathing through our nose...WOW. The before and after is almost a subtle yet staggering difference. I am so glad you made such a HUGE decision for YOURSELF and your own quality of life. Kudos
The official before and after has me shook! The doctors did a great job, I don't know how theyre able to do such an intense surgery and make it look so natural but they did. You're strong and beautiful and I wish you more happy healing!!
I think it’s really nice that you showed everything you went through and were very honest about everything because it really shows the reality of those types of surgery. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Wow, for such a major surgery I think you look great!! Good for you to put this out there to help others in a similar situation. Takes alot of courage and bravery! Here's to smooth sailing for the rest of your recovery! ❤❤
Emily! You are so brave girl, and I'm sure people looking into this surgery will find this video comforting. I can't imagine how crazy it is to see your own facial features change but I'm SO glad its given you a better quality of life and I wish you the best in your continued recovery!!
Thank you for being so open about something so personal and sensitive. This is one of the most thorough videos I’ve seen. You’re so strong💗
I'm so impressed by how well it seems you were cared for, thats really wonderful! Thanks for sharing your journey ❤
It definitely helped me feel calmer about the whole thing! I didn't realize how out of it I would be with the "brain fog"!
Oh my God girl, what a journey!! You're stronger than you think you are!! Hope you get back on your routines very soon! Sending love and light from Greece 🇬🇷❤️🌼🌺
Not only are you brave for getting this done, but you’re brave for sharing this journey with us. Hope you continue to heal quickly and painlessly.
You are such a trooper! Recovery looks really difficult, so glad to see how far you've come since surgery. Good luck with the rest of recovery! The hospital staff and doctors seemed really supportive, but wow you are so brave!
Wow, the X-Ray of before and after are amazing. You look beautiful Emily, It's great to see you back on here. I'm happy you can breathe now too.
It's funny because I've been showing the X rays to many people because in person they kept saying they didn't see a difference haha The x rays definitely show it tho!
Emily, I can’t even imagine going through this! You are a brave woman.....I know you would not have done this unless you really needed to....blessings for continued recovery.
As someone who’s never gone through any major surgery you’re so strong!! I’m happy it’s paying off and watching you clap back to these people telling you off (and not watching the video!) is hilarious and I feel better knowing that all the positive comments are at the top!
I never realized the issues you were having and always thought (and still think) you were so gorgeous! Thanks for being vulnerable and taking us along in your journey. I’m so glad you’re feeling better and you look great!! ❤️
Well done Emily, and thank you for sharing how everything went.
i feel like i dont comment very often on videos but I JUST WANT TO GIVE YOU THE BIGGEST HUG EMILY!!
you're so brave for sharing the entire experience. it really opened my eyes on how big of a toll the recovery process is. i'm so sorry you had a rough time in the beginning of the process but i'm so glad you're able to breathe, and feel better in the long run. it's so great to see your mood pick up throughout the video your joking and facial expressions are so fun to watch
keep staying strong and being that genuine, amazing person that everyone's here to watch
You look STUNNING 🥰 I’m so glad you took care of your health and ended up happy with the result. You’re literally glowing 💛
The doctor seems amazing. I hope you'll feel better and have a nice recovery, I miss your videos.
It's so cool you're so open about your surgery! Super helpful and informative. Hope your recovery goes wel!!
Showing your surgery journey was a brave thing to do, and I really hope that in some months you recover completely, although to be honest, you're looking great!
I'm glad you had such a great team of people working together for your surgery, recovery and better health. Thank you for sharing about the process to help those going through similar health issues. I wish the best for you in all things. I truly enjoy your videos and feel grateful your health is improving every day.
Wow it’s crazy how much clearer you speech is! I could always understand your English, but now it’s even easier to understand! I’m glad everything went well and I hope your recovery continues to go well 😊
Thank you for sharing your story! It's so great to hear your breathing has improved and the de-swelling treatments were fascinating to learn about. My dad had corrective surgery on his nose to improve his breathing. It's taken over a year for his sense of taste to come back fully but he says it was the best decision of his life and he wished he had done it sooner. Best of luck on the rest of your journey and I can't wait to hear how things are going in part 3!
The whole procedure sounds soo tough, glad to see your part 2 video. I wish you speedy recovery... Take care...
It's so great that you're making such detailed videos about what you went through/are going through! You're definitely going to help other people looking for advice and reassurance about double jaw surgery. You look fantastic for only being three months post-op! I'm already looking forward to the next update video.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!! You’re so brave for doing something so scary as major surgery and I really hope you are able to feel the full benefits of it very soon♥️ sending you all the love ma belle✨
24:43 "by moving my right side up by 3 milliliters" this put a smile on my face ^^ glad you're happy with the result
Regardless of teeth alignment and braces [I read your comment], you look gorgeous (especially considering it is only 3 months post-op) and I strongly disagree with those who say you don't look like yourself. You were and ARE beautiful and I wish people would use that thing they supposedly have inside their skull before writing... or at least they could watch the video...
I am delighted you're back 😍
Thank you! It's been challenging to adapt to the changes even knowing things will go back mostly to what they were. One day at a time :)
@@beautywithemilie The most important thing is that you're experiencing the benefits of this surgery on your health. Baby steps, one bite of pizza at a time and everything will go back to normal!!!!
Nimueeh people always have to talk. At the end of the day one should do what makes them happy
What a beautiful person you are, both inside and out. I can't believe how incredible you look three months after such huge surgery. And to think you're only going to get more gorgeous the more the swelling goes down!
You look beautiful! So relieved to hear this resolved your health issues. Thank you for sharing your journey, seriously you are so brave to put yourself out there when you're still recovering. Please keep us updated on the progress!
So, I notice a huge difference in the way you use your mouth when you speak. I’m glad that you’re healing up well, and it looks like they did an amazing job! They seemed to have taken care of you so well. Your face definitely looks more symmetrical, and I firmly believe that anything that improves your quality of life is worth it.
I remember watching your video swatching Bite lipsticks... somehow you drew me again into watching your video about your surgery. What a brave move and when you feel better, living better after that, it is all worth it. Thank you for sharing!
I'm glad to see you are back! You were very brave. I'm sure 9 months from now all the pain will be a distant memory. I wish you all the best.
I'm so happy that you were able to get corrective surgery and have made it through so well. Hope you continue to recover without major problems. Love your channel and you! You're beautiful, Emily ❤
your face looks so cute?!?!?! as someone else said, your smile looks so cute now! im so glad youre feeling good!
Came from your booktube, Emily. Good to know you’re recovering well and feeling healthier! 💕
I've loved seeing your vlogs so far! The change is so neat to see, I'm so glad you're able to breathe better!
Your recovery is admirable and I am wishing you the best of luck as you continue on your recovery journey! So glad to hear your health is already improving. 💕
The picture of the doctor teaching you how to smile is adorable!
I’m so glad your breathing has improved!! Everything looks great, I hope the rest of your recovery goes smoothly 😊. You’re so brave for doing this and showing us everything about the process...just having wisdom teeth surgery scared me! Haha
Sending you my love and prayers for a smooth recovery! Block out any negative comments! You are very talented, brave, and beautiful . Never forget that. ☺️
You are gorgeous and I'm so glad you were so proactive with your health, faced your fears and did what you needed to do to improve your quality of life.
This medical care is *mad* absolute *goals* 🔥
Im happy for you, so glad you decided to do this for yourself and are satisfied with the results! 😊
Seriously! I was so out of it so it was really nice to have people care and make sure everything was good like that!
Absolutely astonished, Im telling you hahahha, I hope soon this will be standard, for all of the world and all patients 😇
I LOVED hearing about your journey. I don't get the rude comments. You needed this to improve your quality of life. You were gorgeous and you still are! Btw, I love that lipstick!
I sincerely almost started crying when I saw how happy you are in this video about the changes and the way they improved and will keep too improve your life ♡ I totally think it was the right decision and you look just as beautiful as before but also so so happy ♡ I hope the rest of the healing and training your muscles will go as good as it went up to now!
Thanks for sharing this part of your life with us! I really think it will help other people too :)
I'm glad the surgery went well!! My friend got corrective double jaw surgery and she's said it's made a great difference! She experienced a lot of issues that you did as well. I hope you continue to recover well from it in the following months!💕
Emily, you look great! I had SARPE surgery in October 2017, which is upper jaw surgery to expand the palate for braces. I understand exactly what you are going through and I can tell you it's worth it.
I ate a lot of jello, mashed potatoes, oatmeal and banana smoothies. I had to wear a key assisted expander in my upper jaw and ended up with a gap between my two front teeth that was an inch.
My swelling was completely gone within a year and my braces are coming off in November. I am so happy you were able to do this and I wish you all the best.
I also wore an expander in my upper mouth for 2 years. Most uncomfortable 2 years of my life. It was expanded twice a week so I was pretty much in never ending pain but I was fortunate enough to never get a gap in my teeth. Maybe cause I had braces on at the same time
I have been waiting for this video! I hope hour jaw feels better
I've been following you for a while, but I almost never comment. I just wanted to say that I am so glad that your health has improved ( being able to breathe through your nose must be a huge relief).
You look fantastic for only 3 months post op!!! Happy to hear that you’re having such wonderful results and a smooth recovery! Love from Newfoundland!!
Looks are a bonus. You look absolutely stunning (it also has to do with your pleasant personality). I'm glad you'll be able to lead a better life after this surgery. The X-rays made me understand what vast difference it made to you! HAPPY RECOVERY. love.
Amazing, thank you for sharing this story! You were super brave to go through all this, can't wait to see the final results a few months later :)
I couldnt imagine what you went through but glad you’re feeling much better now. At first i thought it was a “cosmetic surgery” but after watching the entire 2parts video i understood better. I cant wait for a year to go by and watch you living the best life. Wishing you a fast recovery. With so much love here from the Philippines 😘
I can only imagine how difficult it can be. Plastic surgery or not doesn’t matter when it impacts the health.
I hope you will continue well your recovery and that with your video help who might need.
Unrelated but I love that blue wrap front dress you’re wearing in the stitches removal part
Thank you! It's from Lulus, I love it :D
I was thinking the same thing! So cute!!
Agree! I like the jammies, too!
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. These videos are an invaluable resource for people considering procedures, to hear about the patient experience from the first person! You’re helping people make informed choices about their own bodies. It is appreciated very much. 💕
Hi Emily, I am in awe of your strength to go through such difficult surgery. I hope your recovery continues so positively and thank you for sharing your journey with us. You were beautiful both before and after. All the best XX
Hoping for your speedy recovery! It's nice to hear you could now breathe and chew properly. And for just 3 months, you look great! 😊
It was so crazy in the first video how the x rays show your jaw almost went downwards and tilted to the side, sounds very painful. That’s super great you can breathe through your nose! Good luck with your recovery!
I don't think I could ever go through that process. I was panicking just watching you. You are literally badass!
I was too! It was an awful lot for her to go through.
I don't think I would have it in me to do it a second time so I'm glad everything went well XD
Wow the change is astonishing ! I'm so happy for you. When you showed us the angles at the end, j'étais littéralement émue ! 👏
Thank you for sharing your journey! I’m so happy that this procedure has changed your life for the better!
Everything looks great! I was 'supposed' to get the same surgery as a teen for my underbite but I chose something else since my case wasn't too bad- that process was terrifying to consider, I can't imagine going through it! I'm glad everything went ok and happy healing!
I don't think people realize that a lot of people try and do everything they can to avoid having to do this. It's not a fun time, it's a long recovery but in my case so far I'm glad I did it!
Here's to the next 9-12 months of deswelling haha
What did you end up doing instead? 👀
adrilechuga I forget but it was a few things- I had a forsus, a palate expander and a bunch of things. Apparently it was still rarely used when I started on it, so now my pics are being used in dental schools lmao 😂
Girl, I was horrified watching this video. You are so brave. I'm happy to see a great recovery!
Wow that’s so intense! I am so happy you had a positive experience. You look so beautiful and I can’t imagine how amazing it must have been for you to feel more comfortable in general. You’re so pretty and I appreciate you sharing your journey 💕💕
You are so brave! I couldn’t imagine going through that and knowing how long the recovery process is. I’m so happy that you are feeling better! Also, when you first came on screen the voice didn’t match the face in my head. But after watching the whole video I realized it was just the swelling. Beautiful before and beautiful after! ✨❤️✨ Im so happy to see you back! I know you never left, but a lot of the other videos were pre-filmed (btw you deserve a UA-cam achievement award for that) so it’s nice to get a current video.
Love you Emily 🥰
