Sir I just can't explain in words how thankful I am to you for these amazing tutorial This is my 4th time watching this same tutorial and now I am bit able to understand the concept thank u very much sir again
You are so blessed and talented and when I say so I know there is lot of hard work behind it too...all those who have you as guru and are taught by you in person are so lucky
Ashwinji, you are doing a wonderful job explaining to your flute fans some of the basic concepts, which are so essential to know for all bansuri enthusiasts. Just want to mention 2 points. It is also essential for all flute players to know something about flute harmonics. I did the following video several years ago: ua-cam.com/video/X0iM9Z7LlM8/v-deo.html The second point (not for everyone here!) is to whet the appetite of those more analytically inclined. You mentioned, in relation to just intonation, the “cycle of 5ths”. This cycle produces multiples of the ratio “3/2”, giving you successively 3/2, 9/8, 27/16, etc (pa, shudh re, shudh dha, etc..). However, the just intonation used in Indian music is a combination of the 3/2 cycle, the 4/3 cycle and the 5/4 cycle. Reason is this. The 4th in the “3/2” cycle is 81/64 for shudh ga. However this fraction is getting complicated. Our ears prefer simple ratio of numbers. So shudh ga is taken as 5/4, which is equal to 80/64, slightly less than 81/64. Similarly, the shudh ma produced by the 3/2 cycle will represent too complex a fraction. The ear prefers 4/3 which is very close to it.
Lot of people are commenting and sharing their respect and love for you.But i don’t know the proper language to show my gratitude to you. You your way of teaching your everything touches me so much that i cannot help falling in love with the instrument more and more. God bless you. Pranam Guruji.
Tanpura Tuning Is Perhaps The First Most Important 'Fann' Each & Every Musician Should Learn! And You Did A Great Great Job By Providing Such A Detailed Teaching Learning Video
It also indirectly gives the science of chord progression in western... i have to study more to clear my confusion about these production of harmonics(so far i knew that harmonics are multiples of main freq up to infinity, fourier decomposition )... now i think i was wrong😅😅... thanku u taught not only music but physics.... your insights are awesome and so deep!!!
I think no one tells us on UA-cam about the swara(shruti) production in tanpura such detail way.I think vidyadhar oke ji tell about all 22 shrutis but it can't be for normal listener or new learner.thanks a lot for everything sir. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Superb exposition! Gives a very deep insight which is essential for a strong foundation. Getting to know about the 5th overtone of each tonic was fascinating. It was almost like attending a physics class. Please keep up the wonderful work.
It's was one of the best lessons of music which I have discovered on UA-cam. Only a student of music can understand the value of this video. Thank you so much for teaching us such a valuable lesson.
Exactly what I was looking for about Tanpura details for more than 3 years. Aapke charno me naman Sirjee. Had you started teaching few months back, I would have definitely come to you. Now I am committed to another Guruji who is teaching me from few months. May you succeed in whatever definition of success you are seeking.
Pronam 🙏 sir, I live Tripura. Being in a remote state I don't get a Guru for my flute learning. Your UA-cam channel has given me the inspiration and guidance to continue with my flute practice. You are a very generous and humble person sir. Your in-depth knowledge of Indian classical flute and vast knowledge of Indian classical are helping us to stay motivated in our music journey. I used your Riyaz with me M1 and M2. This is my humble request, please, keep creating the videos and keep developing more Riyaz with me module.🌷🌷🌷🙏Love from Tripura

Just now finished this video. I don't know how to say thanks for sharing this kind of information that too for free in such a simplified manner. Only music students can understand what he gave in this video. Thanks a lot sir....
Is the this also similar to sympathetic vibrations of a string to which it has a harmonic likeness? Like Sa has to Pa ? Kinda similar to when sitar chikari strings tuned properly to a Raaga aroha sargam notes can produce wonderful harmonics soothing to ones ears. Very nicely explained, thanks.
Waiting for volume 2 on Tanpura. I experimented this concept with Guitar, I set C to the thickest string of guitar, and other 2 strings thick strings are set to G, when I pluck C string, I could notice that G strings are also vibrating, C note has G harmonics as well, fascinating! Thank you for the info sir.
