I also appreciate how you made Gordon seem actually athletic, but nothing super complicated that still kept with him being a scientist. I seriously adkre this version and the VHS one! the POV is also genius, besides making it so you don't have to use voice clips, but also tells the story in such a unique and fun way. you also have a talent with the acting for then as well, and it brought me a huge amount of joy. When I made Barney shove Gordon, I decided to do it in a way that lets the viewer decide how he handled it (its pretty hard to see his face in the VHS filter version). As far as my body language during that mocap session, I tried to act as if Barney was pushing Gordon because he was frustrated that he lost the race, as well as damaging Black Mesa property (which he might have to pay for) so it was mostly a frustration thing. Then he calms down and get back into the playful banter mood. I got the ceiling to fall like that due to a very particular feature I discovered. I may make a video on how to use it someday... Anyways, it allows me to convert objects/brushes that can't be moved (like walls, floors and static objects that can only be edited in Hammer) into animatable props using a certain feature of SFM. This has huge potential... I can break apart the environment and animate it in SFM without using an external program like Propper. I'm in love with the idea of pre-disaster Black Mesa... Most people hyper-focus on HL2 and beyond. There's honestly a lot of unique speculative lore potential in the HL1 timeline, before the Combine come in to play at least. Though I feel like the humans would probably treat the vorts like how the humans treated the prawns in district 9, after how everything went down in BM the vorts would have to explain themselves real fast if they didn't want to be associated with the nihilanth and his plans to invade. But yeah seeing this animation is making me wanna get back to working on my Half-Life animated series, I posted a small animatic of it awhile ago on Reddit and I think you actually commented on it saying how you felt inspired, which I find kinda ironic now because now I feel really inspired by you and all the work you've done for the community and making the world of the Half-Life universe feel more alive and lore friendly in ever way possible, and I'm sure these things take lots of time and effort but I just wanna let you know you're awesome for pulling yourself through all that hard work just to see those end results, can't wait to see more from you man!
