I'm from Costa Rica and do autobody work as a part time job and I'm trying to get a great education in this business with your videos ! I just begun following but men even seeing with dirty hands from the shop inspires me ! Thanks again !!!!
Pete your right on once again. Been a collision tech for 37 years and paint and materials have gone straight up thru the roof in pricing. There is many companies stepping up with there products for autobody / collision industry at real decent prices. vevor for instance, cheaper products thaty actually work/ or used by experienced techs that have enough knowledge to use the products at a higher level with acceptable results. Saving bucks on materials/ consumables is helping bigtime on the profit end. Keep Giving em hell Pete. You’re the man! Enjoy watching ya. 👍✌️
Thanks for teaching us! I'm an apprentice mechanic but had a big body job come in and have to learn by myself how to fit aero vents and your videos have been very helpful learning the basics of bondo and painting
Automotive Art is good paint, Very good clear, i still have Bessa 250 and it is sold in 5 litre kits for under 200 bucks ( IN CANADA) IT HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN
Well it's $55 a roll here in Canada which is about par for everything we buy here which is around 100% higher then U.S..Really like your videos.Keep them coming.I see that Eastwood also sells this brand and the pricing is awesome just like you say..thanks
Thank you Pete - LOTS of good information here!!! Too bad for me that this video didn't come out in December!!! I just ordered a bunch of Mirka paper - paid about $62 to $68 per roll. INDASA cost savings is real!
Thanks for bringing tried and proven proven products and great information to go with each. I plan to use the hard to cut & bluff clear between a truck cab and the bed corner to make a soft edge. Thanks Pete.
for gunk on steering wheels from finders you can remove it with spray Nine , Works great, and for wood grain, they said dry cleaning fluid (Orielys brake clean Im sure is dry cleaning fluid). , mixed with corn starch to make a paste you can paint on the wood, and it wicks the oils out .
Thanks for another good video Pete and saving us some money. I’ve used that Duro gold and it seems to be pretty good sandpaper. I ordered some of that white line. I found it on a website finish focus cheap, same prices. You was talking in five dollar shipping to West Virginia.
Hey mr. Pete could you please do a little talk or video on your tandom Lowrider bike, I’ve been building Lowrider bikes for 35 years it’s my hobby, and watching your videos have been very helpful to me, thanks for your help and knowledge with your videos
Thank you for always looking out for us blue collar workers. We appreciate you. I been using 3m on a at home build. Heard of Indasa but now I’m going to order some. Been paying over $40 for 3m 80 and 180.
@@diyautoschool I ordered it right after your video. Once again thanks for always looking out for us small people. We all work hard and raising kids and wherever we can save a buck “ but still have a quality product” is always a plus. I do believe the guy who makes Big Kid Blocks uses Indasa paper as well. So I know it’s not junk. And you said it’s not, so I believe it’s worth a try. Keep moving forward and keep up the good work. God bless.
Excellent video! Top notch advice. I am not a pro, but I painted my camaro 12 years ago with NAPA Pro Base (Martin Senour), and it was excellent! Even today, that car looks great!
Martin Senour has really went up in quality in the past years and Im actually thinking of trying their basecoat out to see what it's like.. Thanks for the comments
Pete, wish I had seen this a couple weeks ago. Been bouncing around trying to find a decent abrasive for a reasonable price. Ended up going back to Mirka. Have Indasa bookmarked for next time.
I've been watching your videos for a while, thank you. Just an idea, if you like, how about putting a guide on painting a car in one 30min. comprehensive video (sand, bondo, sand, prime, basecoat, clear finish; product cans used, gun, and pressure)?
Great video Pete. I'm In Ontario Canada , switched away from evercoat awhile ago, I now use Carworx gold for thicker work and Carworx Premium + for thin and finishing work. It's as good or better than rage and costs a lot less. I'll checking out indasa as we speak. Thanks My Friend Pete
Shop i work at uses all 3m products but i don't haft to buy it, i use cheep products on my own projects tho with no problems. You can get stuff really cheap if you go to the factory or manufacture and buy a pallet load and you can get your own name labeled on it i worked at a shop that did that a few years ago.
hey Pete you still using grit paper, problem with that is it cloggs up and wears out. i been using non grit paper for a decade now, really good stuff, ask about it your side of the pond Pete
Best bag for your buck... if it doses the job, you can get good work out of it,,and it DOSE NOT DO ANYTHING TO PISS YOU OFF WHILE YOU ARE USING IT... GOOD SHIT. LOL KEEP YOU THE GOOD WORK.. THX
Omni and shop line are the exact same. Omni is jb and omni plus is jbp, pretty soon ppg will be doing away with shopline from what I’ve heard since there are fewer and fewer ppg platinum distributors.
I think I missed the name of the company you’re buying that through the prices are unbelievable compared to what I pay. I just looked it up online and there’s several places but they’re out of a lot of it.
Looks like they bought them out too! Give them a few years and you won't see Dynatron on the shelfs of Home Depot or Lowes anymore -- It will be 3M and the price will be TRIPLE!
Ever since the BIG PAINT FLAKE in the 80's thru the 90's I shy away from SW Products -- They where the main paint supplier of all that factory fuck up shit..
I have that that sandpaper I bought from local napa store right around $20 320 grit.also have duragold 80 and 180 near the same price from tcp global. What about auto Bahn or vision auto paint .I know you are for great product but some just can't buy top quality paint.I use shopline epoxy and 2k but the 2k is $ 75 more than other brand like upol.
Auto Baun is a good product but hard to find in alot of areas.. It's mainly a southern state product because it's made in Shreveport LA. I only use Shopline Epoxy and switched many years ago from PPG Epoxy because the price was to much..
Pete, Evercoat need to make a demonstration video showing how the product works and to have you look over it, if I had the money to come over and watch I would, you are wright, Evercoat are talking fart language out of their ass
guy going around the south at car shows, Mixes on the spot in a small trailer. friend bought some single stage. and it was basically a semi gloss finish. so pass on that stuff
ever deal with a slime on a layer of fresh hardened filler you spread out , gums up the 36 paper you first use then once thats pulled off rest sands as usual,,
1:04:00 It's called Horizontal Investing. If an segment of the market is being bought up by Black Rock, Vanguard, & State Street then that means that market will cease to compete to sate the appetite of Wall Street. These trillion dollar asset managers should be treated as Monopolies and broken up.

The paint work is world class because Pete is probably the best. Change my mind.

Pete, wish I had seen this a couple weeks ago. Been bouncing around trying to find a decent abrasive for a reasonable price. Ended up going back to Mirka. Have Indasa bookmarked for next time.
The indasa abrasives are also available in Australia. Awesome stuff
Back in the day the dealer shop I was in used rage gold and z grip. I bought Z grip for my personal use last month for $50.
I've been watching your videos for a while, thank you. Just an idea, if you like, how about putting a guide on painting a car in one 30min. comprehensive video (sand, bondo, sand, prime, basecoat, clear finish; product cans used, gun, and pressure)?
I am going to start on a black 95 Chevy pu....just want the factory look.....what company paint and clear should I use?
Pete, will you make a video of painting the car? Love the channels!
I have one question do you think that sandpaper is better than Dura gold. I going to buy me some of that stuff thanks buddy. I’m gonna try it out.
Yes
Shit I live off grid in Az. The Internet is always shitty out here. But I can live with buffering to gain knowledge.
Preach brudda,preach :)
Love harbor freight, yes, tilts lol😊
Amen
Hey Pete , thanks for the great info but i think that sandpaper is in yards ....even better if im correct.
Great video Pete.
I'm In Ontario Canada , switched away from evercoat awhile ago, I now use Carworx gold for thicker work and Carworx Premium + for thin and finishing work. It's as good or better than rage and costs a lot less.

Thanks My Friend Pete
EVERCOAT is OUTRAGOUS,, so is 3M
I use evercoat z grip. Sticks great to aluminum and galvanized steel, sands decent and its about $37 a gallon
Good video, I'll give that sandpaper a try. Sandpaper is one item that I recommend people not buy from harbor freight.
USC body filler is on sale here in Canada for $35/gal right now
Thank you for the great tip brother
Do you know how this paper compares to 3m red?
Shop i work at uses all 3m products but i don't haft to buy it, i use cheep products on my own projects tho with no problems. Omni and shop line are the exact same. Omni is jb and omni plus is jbp, pretty soon ppg will be doing away with shopline from what I’ve heard since there are fewer and fewer ppg platinum distributors.

Hi Pete: the "Bondo" brand, is actually a 3M product has it written on the can. I can take a pic of it and send it to you but I dont have your email.
Looks like they bought them out too! Give them a few years and you won't see Dynatron on the shelfs of Home Depot or Lowes anymore -- It will be 3M and the price will be TRIPLE!
This new generation will be the death of us 70s rebs

I’ve always wondered why 3M has not entered the paint game. 3M sells everything else, 🤷🤷
3M is one of those CORPORATIONS that does BUY OUT and Then PUT OUT -- Of Business...
I shit myself when you showed the price
shipping is a killer these days.
nope ir eu indasa is probably 2nd or 3rd place by quality, first probably sunmight and 3m cubitron but not the new one
Akzo Nobel owns and distributes it
guy going around the south at car shows, Mixes on the spot in a small trailer. friend bought some single stage. and it was basically a semi gloss finish. so pass on that stuff
ever deal with a slime on a layer of fresh hardened filler you spread out , gums up the 36 paper you first use then once thats pulled off rest sands as usual,,

If they make that shit in 1000 gallon batches, that means 999 other guys must have had the same problem.
LOL --- The problem you have is the other 999 are to pussy or stupid to stand up for themselfs..
9.5 years
Yeah -- a long time
Omni and shopline are the same omni plus is the same jbp
