Even as an Avs fan I have to say - the stars won this game twice. That interference call was absolutely absurd
Yeah that’s the worst call I’ve seen all season, and one of the top 10 worst calls I’ve ever seen
Respect for recognizing it and gg man, after watching game 5 I was fully expecting a game 7. Good luck next year
Even as a Stars I have to say - thank you for your honesty... One of the worst calls I've seen in my life. It almost cost the NHL a fan for life. If that goal was against Dallas I'd be saying the same thing.. and good Series.. see you next time.. Great Comment.
Can you imagine the uproar if they'd overturned it, in overtime, to end the series?
It was a bad call on the ice from a bad perspective. But there was never any chance they were going to overturn that call, regardless how obvious it may or may not have been (yes, it was obvious, it should have been a goal). They're just not going to do that.
^ If this game has been in Dallas, I think they would have overturned the call. It would have generated some controversy and discussion later, but they wouldn’t have had the immediate problem of the home team crowd potentially getting ugly (throwing stuff, etc).
Congrats to Dallas for advancing to the WCF, and congrats to Colorado for being the first ever team to lose 3-1 in OT.
Officiating these playoffs has been absolute garbage. I've seen better officiating in the All Star games.
Detroit lost 3-1 in OT in game 7 vs Chicago in 2013 also
Lmao 😂
Even Google sent me a notification saying 3-1 I got confused even though I watched the game
HALLELUJAH IT WASNT MY LEAFS FOR SOME BIZARRE RECORD!
A Vancouver-Dallas conference final will pull at Shannons deepest heart strings.
He will root for VAN, obviously, but be happy either way.
if Vancouver makes it past Edmonton, in fact even now seeing the way the officiating has been done, the city of Vancouver is playing Russian roulette during these playoff. I'd hate to see the beautiful city of Vancouver sacked and burned, but either way, win or lose . . .
as a sharks fan
BEGGING for consistency in referees calls
how the hell was that no goal 😂
This league is broken
It was actually a genius play by Makar, didn't you know!? He purposefully pushed Duchene into Georgiev because he knew that if Dallas scored it was going to get called back! One of the greatest plays I've ever seen! (I am obviously joking)
It was a no goal because Mackinnon and Makar play for the team who it would have gone against. If that had happened to either Edmonton or Vancouver, the refs would have personally escorted Mcdavid and JT Miller off the ice.
@@Wayf4rer If that happened in vancouver the streets would be on fire lol
Pretty sure because the call on ice was no goal, and there wasn't enough to overturn it
That wasnt goalie interference. I was in disbelief when it was waved off and announced as a no-goal. Dallas should've won then and there.
I was also in disbelief I literally turned the game off. Then I decided to keep watching lol. Especially ridiculous when juxtaposed against Benett's goal...
@@marksbeats3053Yeah for sure. I felt wrong that the game kept playing, even if I wanted to team to win, it wasn't right.
Its really hard to not say "The refs were doing everything they could to help the avs. it was that obvious. TWICE! The Stars had two goals wiped and won anyway. This fu;lly affirms my hatred for everything Colorado and Nathan McKinnon.
Their poster child lost - sweeeeeet.
Honestly feels like they waved it off because Georgiev stopped playing once the contact was made and started complaining before the puck even went in. The officials probably thought that if he didn’t just give up from that little knock he could’ve had a chance to make a play there and stop that puck.
Glad Duchene got the GWG. Being pushed into the goalie, and Dallas ends up playing another PD; top marks for Colorado’s efforts, but that was a shameful review.
Even after Makar pushed Duchene he STILL wasn’t even in the crease.
I've heard of being a poor loser, but never a poor winner?
@@bruxi78230takes one to know one Bruxi
@@bruxi78230he’s right.
Listening to the post game show on 1310 The Ticket in Dallas, they said the “official report” stated that (and I’m summarizing) Duchene’s ass was across the crease therefore it was “goalie interference.”
Absolutely f’n insane and ticky tack explanation, splitting hairs at its finest. Like the league office wants to dismiss any real accountability for that terrible call. In my humble opinion of course.
@@bruxi78230 he's not being a poor winner lol, that call was ridiculous. Not happy to see that even as an Avs fan, true hockey fans want good officiating no matter who benefits from bad calls
Thank goodness Colorado didn’t win. Would have been brutal after that call
Why? It was blatant interference. His skates didn't cross but his body was inside. Not only that but the stick was being interfered with PRIOR to the extra push. It's not that hard to see.
You're one of maybe 3 people that believe that trash lol come on man terrible troll take. @356z

That Marchment no goal was some grade A bulljive.
You know it must be a bad call when someone with the Wild logo as their profile picture thinks the call was bad.
Even this wild fan thinks the stars got screwed
Colorado did not deserve this game. The right team won. And as an Avs fan, WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE MY BOY DUCHENE!
Well, to be fair, it was really Marchment, but the league likes taking his goals away.
@angiebee2225 don't they just.
because life is cruel my friend
Because the line he's on has been one of the best scoring lines of late with him and Stankoven. Gotta love the Stanken-Duch line now😂
One of the greatest puck dont lie moments i can remember
Can you believe Dallas won an overtime game 3-1? Historic.
Another historic feat, Dallas is the first team in the expansion era to beat the previous two Stanley Cup Champions.
Cool where's your cup to show
3 records to Go down in history in one post season is incredible
@fraziocolucciio9213 are we coping and seething? Perhaps a little more seething than coping 😂
As someone who was watching this series I wanted a game seven, as someone who watches this channel I was happy one of your teams made it through.
@@fraziocolucciio9213we won a cup in 1998-1999 season and we've been to 5 stanley cups, losing 4. Most recently being against Tampa Bay a few years ago...
PUCK DONT LIE BOYS
Whoever wins the cup this year it will be their first cup in the 21st century
That’s actually pretty cool!
Stars are so good they scored two OT goals in one game.
Georgiev really came into his own during these playoffs. Good job, Alexander!
As a rangers fan I am really happy for him he's growing into the player we all knew he was carried his team as far as he could congratulations on a great year
I disagree.... He kept coming to far out of the crease and it resulted in way too many goals.
@HipHopCantSaveMe go back and watch the avs left him out to dry on at least half goals he gave up too many screens also
He’s a much better goalie than oettenger.
@@HipHopCantSaveMeThey only scored one goal in three games
Gg Dallas. No excuses, y'all were consistently the better team and deserved the win. Just know we'll be back for y'all next year. Till then, enjoy the run
Your goalie was a beast. See you next year
Avs are my second team and my husband and I both said y'all played great!
100% right on your theory even though it was clearly a goal no way they wanted to end the game on a review.
I'm like you in that I can hold myself emotionally away from most games, but this one got me 😂 I was angry for a good chunk of it, at the Stars for the lack of life and leaving Otter to dry at parts, at the officiating, and at the announcers for obvious reasons.
well said
"its a really good vintage" Was it barrel aged, cask held for 15 years, made with the limes and lemons from the garden of eden?
And with the Avs out, everyone left in the playoffs will have a chance to win their first cup on this side of the millennium. In Florida and Vancouver’s case, their first cup period.
It's going to be a boring rest of the playoffs though... I mean really, Van vs Dallas? Yikes...
@@HipHopCantSaveMedude how is Dallas boring lol did you not watch this game or the Vegas games? give me a break people like you are why hockey will never grow, always wanting the same three team in it every year. Go somewhere with that mess.
@HipHopCantSaveMe if that's the case I don't see how 1st seed vs 1st seed in the east and 1st seed vs 1st seed in the west would be boring.
For awhile my google Home Screen was showing a 3-1 win for Stars 😂
Not a fan of either team. I actually had the same thought at the time, almost like the league was scared to end a series in such an anticlimactic way and piss off a whole arena of people, even though it was the right thing to do. Horrendous call
Stars won this twice of course, but I gotta say...when the game goes into 2OT, there's absolutely no reason to have guys who've played less than 10m. I know their offensive depth is very top heavy, but the Avs really should've trusted their 4th line with some of the burden. I thought Duhaime was effective at his role all series and yet he didn't even break 9m in this game. At least they trusted the 3rd line more this time, but too little too late I guess. Dallas' depth really shined this series.
The notification I got on my phone LITERALLY said the stars won 3-1 in overtime lmao but that seriously can't be called goaltender interference. I'm absolutely losing my mind with the officiating and what the rules actually are.
You used the words literally and actually. You must be young.

Good series, Dallas. You guys absolutely deserved it. Good luck, i hope you guys win. Get Pavelski his cup. This team is so good! - An Avalanche fan, see you guys in September. What a season! We need our captain back, I know the outlook looks bad, but he's the magnet for the team and he means so much to the lineup. Georgiev was amazing this series and definitely deserves some consideration.
Georgiev had a great series, and played lights out tonight.
@@chairmanofthebored6860Absolutely, he should be better next season since Annunen became a better backup goalie, but I'm worried about the lineup. Drouin, Parise, Duhaime, Trenin, Walker, and Cogliano are probably not coming back and it will be hard to replace these players (especially Drouin, Walker, Cogliano, and Parise)

Dutchy with the wholesome interview too. Love this Stars team!!
Duchene is such a good dude, still my favorite player even after leaving the Avs.
I'm a super sad Avs fan but it's super nice to see you stoked, Shannon.
Dallas the first team ever to win 3-1 in double overtime. Congratulations to Dallas. I’m becoming a fan. This from a Cats and Wings fan. The fact that Hank said it was goaltender interference, kind of shows who he is. We have a major officiating problem rn and it feels like it’s more than incompetence.
He did add that had the call on the ice been a good goal from the start he would have supported that as well, not enough to overturn either case for such a game.
I don't agree myself, it was absolutely not GI - but I understood from that perspective.
As an Avs fan, I can't even be mad. Dallas played so great. Georgiev was our best player, he made so many amazing saves this series and especially in this game. GG.
Man seeing him carrying the avs as far as he could what a great series iam a rangers fan
GG man Avs played insanely well. I live in Denver and love the fans here, Dallas has lots of guys that haven’t won yet. Hope we can do it
@@alexmurphy5289 Here's hoping for a Dallas vs Florida Cup Final, both of which are teams I wouldn't mind winning it all.
For 40 minutes it felt like Otter showed up and not much else. Then the lines get blended and we got a whole new game. Let’s go Stars!!!
The irony isn’t lost on me that DAL took out CO after certain Avs fans last year were so happy they took out SEA and now that very same team takes them out this year. Not to mention the game winner was scored by a player CO drafted 😂 Congrats to DAL for defeating both the last two cup champs in back to back rounds!
They tried to underpay Duchene and lost in Abritration. Did the same thing to O'Reilly. Fitting that he was the one to send them to Top Golf for the summer.
That goal scorer whined his way out of Colorado. I am happy for dutchy though, he helped get us the cup with the pieces from his trade.

I'm glad to see we're all coming together to call out just how awful that call was Like, I know it's always the first excuse but for real, that may have been THE WORST CALL I have ever seen. It's like they make a trash call and then don't have the gut to admit they made a mistake. I can only remember a handful of times a ref has gotten on the mic after calling something to say "no penalty on the play" or something to that effect lmao. Truly insane.
As a neutral viewer (one who is happy he picked Stars in 6 for his bracket) I was actually livid at the thought of them losing the game after getting robbed like that. Yikes. "Awful officiating" doesn't get much more freaking blatant than that one. Glad they were able to win in the end anyway.
I paused the video. I had the final score at 3-1 too. Finally you take a position on something. Glad to see it.
4-1 if we count the other goals in regulation that was disallowed, cuz that was another bs call.
Last night, the league made it obvious that they do not want Dallas to advance.
When Georgiev is your best player in a series, you're going to lose. Also, that was a goal. Brutal officiating as usual. The league REALLY needs to get better and more defined on what the F these GI calls actually are. It's at the point where they might as well flip a coin. Florida scored a goal in the Tampa series where Vaseline literally got bulldozed and the goal counted. Tonight Makar bumps Duchene into his own goalie, outside the crease and somehow it's not a goal?
Stars fan with Florida as my #2 team, and I was sure Bennett's goal was going to get overturned. What are we even doing here, NHL?
Go Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They become the first team in the expansion era to defeat the previous two Stanley Cup winners in the first two rounds of the postseason! Wow!
Google told me it was 3-1... Either way, drinking an Ovaltine, and swooning over Matt Duchene as I retire to a nap. What a series. Go Stars. 🐨
Ovaltine is such a throwback! I don't even know where that's still being sold where I live.
@@philtorrez4198 I'm in Australia, and it's still a staple for me.

I just found you a couple of months ago through your power ranking vids, and I have to say that now I look for your reviews as well. Thanks for the great content! Subbed.
Could not have drawn it up any more poetic than a GWG in second OT for Matt Duchene.
That goal called off on Dallas is one of the worst calls I’ve seen all season
3-1 Win!
Yep. They beat the Avs and Gary Bettman

@@pfisher737Nichushkin is a concern. Two years in a row in the playoffs that he does something off ice. Other than him, I'm confident the front office will figure out how to resign key guys such as Drouin.
You took the words right out of my mouth. When I was watching the replay, nothing about that said "goalie interference" to me, and i just had the thought, "Imagine they overturn the call and thats how the series ends." And at that point I knew they weren't overturning it. Just meant we had to get another one. Stars did a great job not letting that call be the end of it, and it paid off. Great series though. Never felt like there was a point when I could feel safe against Colorado, so they definitely played well!

I’m an oilers fan but if Dallas wins the cup I would be happy. Personally I think they’ve had the most difficult first two rounds. They played the two teams I hate the most, and took them both out. And whether they take out Vancouver or Edmonton that is also going to be a very tough round. I just feel like they’ve earned it haha. Now that my life is good (I am finally healthy 😊) I can look at hockey very rationally. Also my best friend is a stars fan, and I’d be happy for Shannon haha.
They said his ass was over the line 😂😂😂😂 that was the explanation
THG you are the man. I played hockey in Dallas growing up for 12 years. Never have I laughed as hard and enjoyed the opening to a youtube video as much as tonight. You are worth your weight in gold
First three conference finalists have won game 6 on the road to advance - Canucks to make it 4 from 4 tomorrow? 👀
THG once again hits the nail on the head. As I was watching I said of course it's a goal, but OF COURSE they'll never end a series on a reversal.
If they had, the win would be tarnished. Why not take the win on a good goal with some grace instead of whining.
Justice will be done by tomorrow night in my opinion; Shannon's incredible work ethic and unbiased coverage that so many have enjoyed will be rewarded with a Dallas/Vancouver conference final, which should make everyone who follows THG smile. Fantastic review!
The only realistic reason is that they wouldn't want the avs to lose on a reversed call at home. the only one
I knew the officiating was gonna be crap in the first couple mins of the game, when an avs player shot the puck into the stands, the refs huddled up, and just kept going like nothing happened. 😂
Guarantee the only reason they did not call that overtime goal a goal was because they didn’t want a playoff game to end like that
They wanted 7 games and ESPN wanted the Avs for ratings.
@rix911... massive market Denver pushing small market DFW around for ratings.... lol
@@pfisher737I think it's more about MacKinnon, Makar, and Rantanen, our hall of fame level players lol.

I think a lot of people were flabbergasted at the no-goal on Marchment. I think Toronto actually needs to explain themselves on that one. It had all the earmarks of an unfair hometown call.
Shannon, big Dallas fan & have been watching your videos for a couple years now. Really enjoy your content! Always watch your post game videos the day after, really enjoy your coverage and thoughts on the game. You put a ton of work into this channel and just want you to know it’s appreciated.
Nice 3-1 double ot win. That was so ridiculous call that I still cant believe it.
love you Shannon, that game 2 review pissed me off and I'm so glad it was so wrong. LETS FUCKING GO STARS
Your ability to stay on track reading the tiny lines is comparable to a game 6 series clinching goal in OT
THG, so here is one way as a Dallas fan I rationalized the Marchment no goal as a goal. I heard the commentators talk a lot about the intention to "fight back for position." Georgiev (who was stellar) never even tracked the play itself. If you watch the replay, he was so well covered by Duchene (out of the crease) that he never tracked the puck. He was looking at Duchene's back the entire play, trying to look to his right rather than his left where Marchment was at and the puck was passed to. You can call goalie interference on a lot of plays that are deliberate or "too-close-to-call" but if the goalie is never actually tracking the play, it is kind of like calling a pass interference in football if the receiver walks backwards into the linebacker. I think the rules need to include a deliberate obstruction call. For example, most fans think sean avery's antics were laughable but effective against brodeur, but, they genuinely obstructed his view of the play itself. If given the regular chance to watch the play, but obstructed only after the puck is released (as seen on replay) can you really say it is goalie interference or merely a goalie who lost track of the play and got bumped after puck was mere inches from the net. I reckon even without the bump that the puck would have gone in. Maybe wishful thinking, maybe too many contentions. Spoken from a Stars fan who would have said the Avs had scored on the exact same play out of fairness and love for the game
Screening the goalie should not be against the rules. No way, dude.
@@angiebee2225 totally agree. I should clarify that by deliberate i meant actively pushing the goalie or forcibly taking him off the play. But the action by the goalie needs to be deliberate too. If no movement towards the puck is made by the goalie, the goalie is already beat.
Welcome back to the NHL’s Game Show: Is This Goaltender Interference?
Them not wanting to end the series on taking back a no goal call on the ice makes a lot of sense... and also creates a sense of conspiracy 😅
Especially with the way the national broadcast talked about Dallas all throughout. Very relieved the Stars kept it together and got another one.
For sure. The presenters peney worship for the Avs is real. The NHL desperately wanted the Avs to win and tried to help them - twice!
@@bangyahead1No, they don't. The refs are just bad. Take the tin foil hat off.

@@neutralsportsfan17 Yeah totally underrated. I notice him making great defensive decisions every time he is on the ice. Really like the guy's playstyle.

Throwback to "HIS FOOT WAS IN THE CREASE!"
Just saying.
I was on a rollercoaster this whole game. Frustrated with how poorly the Stars played for a period and a bit. To surprised that it got tied. Nervous when it went to Overtime, Ecstatic for half a second when they scored, to absolutely furious to the goal being waved off. Then relieved when Duchene made it right.
The boys have knocked off the last 2 Cup winners. No idea what the next round will bring. But its great to be in the Conference Finals 2 straight years.
I upvoted this video just for the Sprite Zero affirmation.
I also felt like I was the parent of a little kids soccer game watching the stars. Where your team is just clearing the ball but not really doing anything possession wise.
