Was in the Aberdeen end undercover, until it all kicked off and a random cop grabbed me by the scruff of the neck and tossed me out! Also don't remember thinking we were underdogs, though the Aberdeen - Celtic matches were usually hard to call. Was a scrappy game, or at least the bits I saw! 😝
Dons clear favourites that day and nobody was shocked we won even though it was a forgettable game with one really good chance for dons. We were so used to beating Celtic in Glasgow at that time 3-0 or 3-1 at Celtic park was a regular result for dons in Glasgow even a week before the game with a bunch of kids we won 3-1, first live game on sky on a Friday.
@@talkinghead3169 yeah, I know, my point is that it’s hard to believe that now and all you have done is highlight my point on why it so hard to believe any team outside of the old firm or the new old firm or whatever it is these days after the death of rangers, could do that.
It was the Celtic tradition until the mid 90s. Celtic claimed numbers on backs would ‘ruin’ the iconic green and white hoops so they put them on the shorts until the SFA laid down the law on numbers in 1994.
