I remember Azer and FunOrange's aim in ~2015-2018 being somewhat like Mugio's aim. They weren't as "robotic" and "perfectly smooth" but still really satisfying to watch.
He isn’t mugio3 anymore, he plays as osu when watching a play with auto mod
I think the fact that he reaches the note at the perfect time makes his accuracy so consistent

Sure the 30hz replays mattered but the reason so many people fawn over old aim is more because of how inhuman it looked because of old smoothing drivers on tablets before 9w5 and raw. Flyingtuna uses fairly smoothed drivers for today's standard if anyone wants to see a modern example.
I randomly found a replay on an old map which this guy had a number one on, and i was immediately shocked at the cursor movement. I thought this dude was hacking until he reached the spinner, but in my mind was still suspicious. I almost wanted to make an osu forum post but this video saved my dignity

yeah, YokesPai, Xilver, Ekoro and other highacc low ar players comes to mind. I guess what makes their aim so good is that they are comfortable with the slow rhythm so their aim mirrors it, slow and smooth.

@@nigzedotus2488 also, they have efficient movements. Nowdays it's an overlooked skill, but it can vastly help aim since you aren't wasting energy or precision, or most importantly time on inefficient aim.

Shige's aim/aim control is still more satisfying to watch, in my opinion. For some reason, mugio3's aim looking so robotic makes it less satisfying to me.

The one thing that confuses me is he was able to quit osu. I can stop playing for a couple weeks sometimes, but I always find my mind craving that satisfying circle clicking, and I always come back.

Auto’s aim was inspired by mugio3
osu replays used to only record the clicks of objects in around 2008 due to the computers being slower, so only spinners and sliders looked remotely smooth.
then, it became 30hz...ish, only recording occasional movements during breaks.
Then it became true 30hz, and then 60hz. Now, I think it's even better since you don't get the weird lines you get with 60hz, i suspect it records at maybe 120 or 240hz now but only for the times of the clicks not the cursor movement.
