The roof hatch with scissor stairs combinations provide a complete solution for roof access and are easy to install. Not only can roof access be incorporated into new construction projects, it can also be installed easily within an existing building.
Roof hatch configuration
The roof hatch with scissor stairs combinations are available in different opening sizes. The manually operated scissor stairs can be supplied in combination with three roof hatch sizes which also offer a fire-resistant (EI60) combination. The electric scissors stairs is supplied with a roof hatch with a 700 x 1400 mm opening size.
Durable and well-insulated roof hatch
Gorter roof hatches have a fully thermally insulated construction and offer a unique insulation value: Uw ≤ 0,32 W/(m².K), which prevents the common problem of condensation from occurring on the inside. The roof hatch is made entirely of aluminium which, because of its lightweight, minimizes the load on the roof. The roof hatches are also finished with a durable 80 micron powder coating and come with the 10 year Gorter warranty.
Concealed in the ceiling
The advantage of this combination is that minimal space is taken when the stairs are not in use. The scissor stairs are mounted on a solid ceiling door which is flush with the ceiling when the stairs are retracted. The ceiling door is supplied untreated, leaving the option to give it any desired finish and thus make sure it fits with the overall appearance of the ceiling. All scissor stairs are supplied with a casing as standard.
Operation of scissors stairs
The manually operated scissor stairs can be opened by hooking an operating pole onto the ceiling door. This operating pole minimizes the amount of force required to lower the ceiling door and scissor stairs. The electric scissor stairs are driven by a powerful electric motor and protected against accidental overload or jamming. Since the scissor stairs are controlled by a wireless RF remote unit, they can be operated easily from the roof as well.
Optional scissor stairs extension
An extension of the scissor stairs is available as an option. With such an extension, it is possible to bridge a bigger gap between the [suspended] ceiling and the roof.
Roof hatch and scissor stairs certification
The roof hatch - scissors stairs combinations are supplied with the TÜV certificate to EN 14975 standard and with the "Baumuster geprüft" label and Aboma Safety Approval. Aboma is a reputable Dutch assessor in the field of safety in the construction industry and in buildings. The reports can be used as evidence during the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RIE) inspection which is mandatory under the Dutch Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (Arbo-wet).
