MJ SOKOLIK He should be a HOF, awesome player. Everyone makes mistakes, there are too many other players that have gotten into trouble and are in the hall.
Pete said it and he was obviously right: “No one gave more effort than I did.” All those years of giving it his all to help his team win MUST carry heavier weight than the mistake he made, a mistake he eventually admitted to, a mistake he made because of a sickness, because gambling is a sickness, and if MLB is so against gambling, why are they promoting it, advertising it, pushing people to gamble on games? It stinks of hypocrisy. MLB doesn’t really care about the sickness, they only care about the profit they can make FROM the sickness. Pete is gone now, it’s too late to honor him when it would have mattered most - while he was still alive - but it’s not too late for the HOF to do the right thing and honor him posthumously because it would still mean something to the fans that loved him so much.

Saying that “it was 55 years ago! Forget about the fact that had statue of limits Beene tended I may have been charged.” How does rose say: commissioner has a tough job with preventing ppl beating their wifes from playing the game yet HE, with his underage relationship, gets a chance to come back?
He paid his dues. Its overdue, he was hustle, but he could run, field, if he wanted, he couldve hit for Power too. He used to smack dingers in Bp just for the hell of it. He was a gambling addict, and it unfortunately made amess of his career. Jordan bet on everything, wouldn't doubt games, as player, owner, who knows, point is, it was a mistake. Long paid, in a bygone era of society, gambling is at stadiums now. No way 25 years ago, barely 5.
@@philliesphan312 Everyone has made a mistake, I’m sure Pete Rose has learned a lesson out of this incident. The fans want Pete Rose back in baseball, He needs and should be recognized for the outstanding accomplishments in baseball. This incident should not be the totality of his life & legacy, baseball and it’s players would be beggars if not for us fans. Everyone deserves a second chance. MLB makes more off betting and robbing players like Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantel and hundreds more. Today gambling is okay, it’s no longer a crime but a business MLB is profiting from this tremendously. Online gambling is promoted with a greed from all the sports. The time is now, the days have changed, what was once frowned upon has become a daily part of watching a game and society doesn’t care about what Pete Rose did, he didn’t commit murder, and I see murderers being set free. Lawlessness is destroyed this great country of ours. Pete if your reading this thank you for the amazing memories and the grit and hustle. Give Pete his recognition, players being paid 300 million for a quarter of what Pete Rose gave us on the field! Phillies charging $7-8 dollars for a hot dog and beer cost more than $16.00 dollars. Remember when we could go to a game safely as kids and sit in the Vet for less than a dollar, MLB has become too big. How bout they listen to the fans and every weekend game have dollar hot dogs, set some reasonable prices on food and drinks, seems to me MLB is robbing the fans and great players. People, before money!
MLB has always taken a hard stand against gambling. But now the MLB channel has taken to give handicap tips posted on their TV channel. Seems like the standards are not the same as years ago. How can you hold players to standards MLB now breaks. Just saying baseball is changing and not for the better
Players absolutely cannot gamble on baseball even today. It’s still a lifetime ban if a player got caught. It’s also a federal crime for any player in any sport to gamble on a game they are playing in. You comparison is way off and doesn’t make sense.

O.J. is in the football hall of fame but Pete Rose not in the baseball hall of fame. Says a lot about how bass-ackwards our society is.
I love how Pete mentions how positive he is, but then goes on these negative tangits haha still love me some pete
The Phillies got permission from the commissioner’s office to have Pete on the field this weekend.
I want the Phillies to knock out 40 hits on Sunday for the hit king
🎯
Wanna get rid of the bat flip?
Give em BOB GIBSON or DON DRYSDALE.
(Peter Edward Rose KNOWS the game)
Pete Rose deserves to be in the Hall! #charliehustle
They missed Pete's ultimate comment during his Philly visit. "I knew Johnny Kruk when he had two balls."
“Some of these Pitchers don’t pitch good, so they take their time”. Reminds me of Jeurys Familia. I’m so glad he’s gone.
I was 11 when the Phillies won it in 1980. I will always love Pete Rose. It's a travesty that he is paying a price that is way out of proportion to his actions.
You support pedophilia?
best hitter of all time.
He paid his debt. Time to let this man live in the HOF
Well said Pete Rose deserves to be inducted immediately into the HOF and honored.
Did Pete die?????
Put pete in !!!!!
This guy should have been with the Phillies his whole career. He has the Philly attitude.
Totally agree! But his hometown is Cincinatti!
Pete Philadelphia was a couple of Hours from Newyork by your experience do you think you would of liked Newyork they have passionate fans also.
Hear my song "Put Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame" on UA-cam. Just type that title in the UA-cam search window!
Yeah. Sports should be based on what you do as a player. He should've been in the hof regardless of what he did as a coach.
"10 year old walks by...10 year old asks Dad..."Who's That"?
Dad: "that is PETE ROSE"
Pete: "You're a Winner...well over 2000 Wins. Play the game to WIN"
🎯
(Pete Rose...and yes, friends...I SAW Clemente and Aaron and Mays (at the tail end)...but PETE ROSE...was the BEST I EVER SAW). Period.
Greatest "natural talent"? No. That was Barry Bonds.
But there has NEVER been...a player (at least not, since maybe Ty Cobb) that played harder on "limited natural abilities" than PETE ROSE.
Period.
The man could beat YOUR TEAM...all by himself.
Congrats Charlie Hustle! I hope the woke element of Philadelphia Phillies fans leave their virtue signaling at the gate. Just like every one of us, he has made mistakes in life and he has paid a heavy price for them. For all he gave Philly and baseball in general, he should be honored. Cancel culture has no place in baseball.
So you're saying that we should just forget about the underage girls? You might have a "let bygones be bygones" attitude about that, but some things are NOT mistakes. He is completely unrepentant anyway... Forgiveness is a two way street
Someone must not have a daughter.
Pete rose has more talent and guts than all mlb players combined. Not including Mike trout and Bryce harper
Keep him banned for life!
Pete rose the greatest living player no one else is close
Dude Bet on his Team to Win as a Manager and has been Treated like Charles Manson
They need to allow this man in the HOF already the Commissioner is a Coward and scared to make his own decisions.
If major league baseball WAITS till this MAN dies to put him in the HOF, I will HATE BASEBALL FOREVER MORE. NEVER watch another game, listen to a game, or even look at MLB's News on any site. My desire for baseball will Die-- Forever.
Alright, alright, alright
Did….did no one on the podcast ask rose about the elephants in the room? The underage relationship? Lying about when he started gambling? Dismissing questions by calling a female reporter babe?
So you’re just going to ignore the other thing?
If he never bet on baseball, he already be in the hall of fame. Shame on him.
Phillies should retire Pete Roses #14 he is one of the greatest players ever. HOF immediately
Commissioner probably won't allow it.
PETE ROSE H.O.F
Some things are not ok.
Pete Rose is angry man.
Peace!
Instant dislike. She was 15.
She was just 17, you know what I mean.
Worst interviewer ever.
Pete Rose is a horrible person.
I have so many memories at
VETERANS STADIUM 🏟 😍
I LIVED THERE , ALMOST 😂🤣👍
MLB has always taken a hard stand against gambling. But now the MLB channel has taken to give handicap tips posted on their TV channel. Seems like the standards are not the same as years ago. How can you hold players to standards MLB now breaks. Just saying baseball is changing and not for the better
Follow the $$$. You’re not wrong but it’s all about $$$.
It’s about the fact that he was a pedophile
Players absolutely cannot gamble on baseball even today. It’s still a lifetime ban if a player got caught. It’s also a federal crime for any player in any sport to gamble on a game they are playing in. You comparison is way off and doesn’t make sense.
Mr. Rose, as a lifetime Phillies fan, I will always appreciate your love of the game. Your get down and dirty style of play is what entered me to you and players like Larry Bowa and Chase Utley. I found myself smiling through the entire interview and can only wish for the return of the 70,s & 80’s style of baseball. I appreciate that you admit to making mistakes as we have all done in one way or another, but remain an ambassador of baseball. If we can forgive the spouse beaters, it’s high time we let things like your mistakes go.
