Big thanks to Kong Performance for the quick porting and gains on this setup as our team for coming down to the track and getting it dialed in! We'll see everyone at World Cup!
Thanks for reiterating the issues a 4” stroke build with short sleeves does to piston skirts. Going Dart LS Pro block personally if I build an iron 400+ inch LS in the future.
For real? It’s common with mustangs, I had a Accufab 160mm oval tb on my 2003 cobra. Whipple Crusher TB’s are 170mm.. the roval on the coyote crusher kits are 160 or 165mm but more circular than the big oval tb’s common on big blower cobra and gt500 stuff
Yeah Steve couldn't come up with anything new or different. RPM's videographer is young and I believe is still going to college, Steve's been doing this for awhile now. Experience makes a difference
@@ejmarkle60 well the new video guy just quit rpm so yeah...... I don't think it's an easy job. I like Steve and Fran even though they had a fall out. Fran had no right to bring Steve's personal life in it and I agree with Steve's choice to leave after over 3 years of consistent videos
Liked and subbed , I've had my 1996 Camaro since new. I drive it daily but always dreamed to build the 96' no cap. I used to build and make all the Bandimere Speedway apparel and awards in drag racing through Denver Print House. You guys have a beautiful Camaro there , all I need for my 96' is a good LS swap 💪🏽
can someone tell me what makes those revs so crisp like a carb setup? i want that sound from my supercharged LS. not just the quick throttle, but the rev going back to go back to idle so quick. i love that sound
What is the compression ratio? I have an LQ9 408 stroker on my 69 Camaro, and wondering if I need to make changes to reduce compression to add a Maggie 2650 with 10lb boost.
I had a question regarding the dyno hits you were making towards the beginning of the video. I was wondering if it’s just personal preference on how each person does it, but as soon as you made the hit and let off the throttle you immediately killed the car. You see a lot of dyno videos where they let off the throttle and keep it running for a little bit longer then shut it down, is that just personal preference or does it matter? Thank you for the info, and that’s a monster setup y’all built!
Damn thats a Camaro RS ? What engine is it ? .. crazy build .. i got a 2019 camaro SS with a Lt4 C7 Engine Swap with custom stage 3 fuel system and Cam set uo with circle d Convertor with aad performance drag pack with weld wheels and mickeys in the back and nitto g555 in the front . Rotofab and american racing headers with x pipe and corsa npp .
Could someone please explain why/how Roots style 2650's are being found under the hood of more cars as of late, especially compared to Whipple or Kenne Bell screw blowers ? Are the new rotor lobes on the roots blowers really able to negate the past benefits of going twin screw ?
The modern tvs blowers are more efficient pound for pound than twin screws. This is why you don't see new whipples under 3 liters. They go any smaller they can't compete with the 2.65 tvs. Even the 3 liter has its hands full and anything short of a full 25+ psi e85 built motor setup prob won't see any power from a 3 liter Whipple over a 2650 tvs. They have a patent on the design of the rotor pack and are just more efficient size for size. Also they can go 100k+ without oil change or rebuild whereas twin screws need rebuilt alot more often but it depends on driving habits etc.
@@midnight347 What about charge cooling/heat ? The Screw Blower still makes a cooler charge temp at the same boost pressure and takes less HP to spin it, or less parasitic loss, right ? A 427 LS can make 1000HP at the crank with a 2.9 Whipple quite easily...and if I recall, I have seen a 2650 do the same.
Do they make the 2650 for standard deck Big Block Chevy's? Mated with either T-400 or T-56 6speed? Without going to an aftermarket block just yet. I would love to upgrade my 1990 454-SS Truck with this set-up? If such a thing as availability for BIG Block Chevy??? Definitely WAY better than the 2- Barrel T.B. it came with... THOUGHT I WOULD ASK??? Thanks 👍 👍 👍
This is a racecar setup not a street car. It needs constant attention, proper maintenance and replacing components. It’s meant to be torn down constantly after multiple races.
No TQ on the hub dyno is calculated really weird it's always a bit off. It's Probably closer to 1100-1200 we've mentioned it in other videos. Same car on a dynojet will read way higher TQ.
Si vous retrouver souvent de la limaille de ferraille c est que vous enlever les radiateur et ca chauffe un max mais vue que c est forger ca résiste mais bouffe de la limaille et donc perte de puissance

Good to see Steve found a new place
I thought the camera man's voice sounded familiar. Go Steve!
Glad to see Steve back. Great hire

I'm looking forward to seeing this channel grow. I have not seen a 170mm tb before haha.

Hey Steve absolutely loved the video that Camaro is gonna kill it can't wait to see it at World Cup.
That is a huge throttle body.

Throttle body is mechanical and a good stand alone will do that
@@sunzoutgunzout8887is this doable with a normal throttle body? I’m running a 2650 with a 105mm DBC. Just curious to at least get close

Why reduce compression, just go E
Putting 20psi on my lq9 that is built.dont reduce compression this isn't the 1900s anymore

Radical build and video. Nice job guys.
Bad ass car... Killin it steve!

I knew this film style looked familiar!!!
Also... Jesus Christ Camaro!
Was curious about the front snout set up and who made it. Only found a set up that was for a 123 not a 170
The same place makes the 170 email them
Who makes is then
Check out prostuning they make the snout and the 170mm throttle body
How can it have LS7 heads on a 400ci LQ9 block? I didn't think you could take a LQ9 block out to 4.065" bore much less 4.125" for LS7 heads.
Is the a build thread anywhere on this car build? Thanks

Nice set up. Good power. 👍
So it seems like LMP customers are more about actual drag racing and not like some other shop’s customers who are dyno number chasers
Thinking of this set up on my LS3! Got 255 heads, cam, FBO you think it can run it before shortblock upgrade? And will a 3” big cowl clear it?
I would love to take my car to your shop!!!
9k rpms, that's insane
7:48 that engine showed you exactly how it felt about your supercharger idler 🤣🤣 or someone forgot to torque it 🤷🏽♂️
So it started as a 6.0, right? Because 400 ci is a bit over 6.5L
Holy S, someone loves to hear themselves talk.
Why is he shutting off the engine as soon as he lets off the throttle when doing the dyno pull?
Because it’s not needed to put added stress on the engine. We don’t need data after the pull… why would we leave it running.
What fuel pump?
Would it be $ 40,000 USD for that engine set up ?
how much did this cost?
At least this guy cares about the car and not on his phone while tuning lol.
