What a stupid question asked by the England reporter. How would Australia's test team reputation be effected by the controversy. It will not be Australia's reputation that will be damaged, it is the reputation of the England test team, it's members, and it's supporters that will be remembered for their disgraceful behaviour for years to come.
It’s worth noting that Alex Carey collects the ball and throws it instantly- all in one motion. It’s all natural and instinctive. He isn’t waiting, in an attempt to deceive Bairstow, and then stumped him deviously. Don’t think the spirit-of-cricket argument even applies here.
Probably bowled too many short balls for Stokes to hit to legside. Gave away a lot of runs. Great innings by Stokes again. Well done Aussies, a great bowler short and sent in on first day, a real fighting win.
After lunch, the Aussies made him swing hard for not as many runs, he tired himself out, I guess that was the tactic. Stokes had to score 200, if England were to win, Brilliant innings but he should have played a bit more conservatively after the tactics changed and just take the singles/twos on offer instead of slogging to the field in the deep. The Aussies played to his ego, it was very well done.
He & his legend team is sensible, ruthless & by keeping finger in their mouth they shut the English crowd & conveniently using the term spirit of cricket in English players. True champion by a reason🏆 The era of Patrick Cummings begins❤️❤️❤️
World Test Champs and 2-0 up in Ashes series I wonder why the pom's are having a whinge after getting beaten by the better team? I'm proud to be an Aussie. Was a good game. And I'm and glad our batters don't wander around aimlessly out of their crease after the ball is bowled, and then whinge like Polly-Prissy-Pants when their stumps get knocked over. Harden the F-Up and cop the mistake that was made on the chin. Cricket101 stay in your crease till the ball is dead, get taught that in juniors. Bring on Game 3.

England were simply not good enough in key moments and in order beat this team they need to start doing that a lot better.

We come from old Port Melbourne, the Aussie Army and me, around Leeds town we roam, 10 bucks for a pint, a grand for a flight, With Pat our captain, we'll take the urn home, so hoist up the southern cross and see how the poms don't floss Call for Boland to land, take the urn home, we'll take the urn home, we'll take the urn home, we'll take the urn home, with pat our captain, we'll take the urn home. We saw the whole of England cry on the tele, they better call up Ian Belly, they don't know who to blame, so scream spirit of the game, they have no shame, with pat our captain, we'll take the urn home.
As an Aussie, I thought we had learned little from the Headingley. When Ben Stokes got going, our tactics were super negative. Placing everyone on the boundary? Our whole strategy was let's hope he mishits one!!!! This was then compounded by ordinary bowling. Short balls right in his hitting zone. We became so negative, that even when Ben Stokes got out, we saw Australia spread the fielders for Stuart Broad. Are you serious!! We were lucky England has a long tail.
What are you talking about? If we hadn't learned anything then we would have lost. We cut the run rate, bowled wide of Stoke's off stump and wore him down.
@@nichobee Yep, we sure did wear him down........with a dozen sixes and just as many fours. Lucky for us he just ran out of energy. As I said, having nine fielders standing on the boundary is not a strategy or smart way to get a player out. He nearly turned an unwinnable test into a winnable test.
@@aup10 what do you mean lucky for us? Do you understand how sport works? We did enough work earlier in the innings so that even if Ben Stokes scored 150, he still needed to score at least another 50 while under fatigue. You can't just judge our entire performance on our inability to get one man out during the second innings. We stood players out on the boundary because the bowling was off and he was scoring too many too quickly. If you can't get him out then the next best thing is to stop his runs and wear him down ("luckily he got tired") - you don't get lucky if your opponent is tired because that's just how sport works. We were tired too and were misisng our spin bowler. Stop pretending the tactics didn't eventually work. It's not about stopping a stokes 100, it's about winning and we did that.
cant understand whats the fuss about baristow and how its controversial. pretty simple, IMHO he walked out before ball was dead and is stumped. End of story
Bairstow's brainfart amounts to a schoolboy error that juniors all over the world will laugh at because they know to mind their crease until the ball is obviously dead. Duh!
Captain Ben Stokes has said he would not like to win a game in this manner, England did have a similar situation but retract it, do you remember the Ozzies cheating with the sandpaper gate, not a good look for them I have to say.
What a load of junk. I get the run out was a big talking point, but a lot of these questions are just the same thing but asked in a different way. Hardly any questions regarding the outcome of the test, plans for the next one or ant regarding the performances of the players aside from stokes. Rubbish reporting frim these journalists tbh. At the end of the day, the dismissal is within the rules, there is no cheating and england, mccullum and co are hardly in any position to cry about the spirit of the game given their history. Australia are up 2 zip and have one hand on the urn. I think perhaps england might want to look at how they plan to win the next 3 test matches rather than anything else. Been a great series so far with some outstanding cricket from both sides, maybe lets focus on that?
Cummins did wrong not giving Bairstow a warning in the sprit of the game, the UK will never forgive him, even if Australia win the world will see they did not deserve…. The ball was dead, Bairstow kicked the crease as he often does to say the ball is dead, the sprit of the game has gone to ashes….as captain Cummins could have overturned the decision….
What drivel. Your words suggest that you've never played the game. Bairstow doesnt have the power to declare the ball dead. The ball is dead when the fielding side and both batters agree the ball is no longer in play. Carey released the ball immediately upon gloving it - dopey Bairstow just wasnt watching.
Once Stokes had his dummy spit and scored a few runs the Aussies got him under control it was only a matter of time, a rash shot mate your out. Good bye.
