I am 63 in 2024, as a kid i watched this every day at 7pm, but in summer, i watched twice a day! I am crying watching this. 😂❤ Thanks for the memories Lucy and Desi!!
I was born in '57 I didn't catch the original broadcast I watched the show in syndication for many years. They were a lovely couple, soul mates. One could see the love. It's sad to know what happened to them behind the scenes. His drinking & womanizing. He was a very handsome man. She was beatiful. Very funny together & the show was well written. I never thought about the fact that she changed her voice for the show making it higher than her real voice to make her character seem less intelligent & ditsy She suffered a miscarriage early on in their marriage before Lucy was born. They were television pioneers what they did as a couple was genius. Thank you for posting.
It is January 26th, 2025 & " I ❤️ Lucy ! Lives on always & forever . Me too. I grew up watching I ❤️ Lucy ! And then when I became an Adult & for married & had kids I introduced them to I ❤️ Lucy ! And we would watch the show when we could And they became adults & hopefully, they keep the family traditions of watching I ❤️ Lucy.! And loving her as such a great Comedian. And Desi & all the others on the show made it a great joy to watch & it was so, successful. I just watched a couple of I ❤️ Lucy ! episodes last week. And saw & read some of her In interviews too. I actually saw a couple of Episodes of Lucy when She was on the old TV Game Show of " Password " I saw 2 of them on You tube. It was fun to watch. On one of the episodes was her 2 kids too. So, it was fun to watch. Thank you Lucy for all the laughs & happiness & joy you have given to all of us. ❤️❤️❤️
True. She has a good marriage, three children, I believe and probably grandchildren, plus an acting career. Keeping her parent's memory alive is only part of the activities she's been involved with.
Just show how much they really knocked it out of the park with this show when it's still the best sitcom ever even after all this time and created at the infancy of television.
Anything about Lucy and Desi brings tears to my eyes. I was a child at the time. The very first television generation. It was a period of stability and unprecedented economic growth for our country. That was personified by I Love Lucy. Sweet comforting memories. Bless Lucy and Desi.
I’m b a 77yr old great-grandmother, & we moved into our new house, when my half-brother was only 3 weeks old, & I was soon to be 4. My step-mother was busy in the mornings, taking care of him, & washing & hanging out the laundry. We just got our first TV, so she let me watch it, to keep me busy. I saw the first episode & loved it. My parent’s had divorced when I was 2 & a half, & I only got to see my mother every other week-end. She was 5”4” w/ huge blue eyes, & red hair, styled just like Lucy’s. She reminded me of my mother, but it was fun watching all Lucy’s quirky situations & Desi singing w/ his band, & Fred & Ethel. It was just a great show & great memories 🙏🏼😊💕
I Love Lucy was my favorite all time show. I was born in 1950, and grew up watching anything to do with Lucille Ball. I still feel that way. It’s just sad that their marriage fell through. But twenty years of marriage is a long time and they should be proud of themselves. Their children should be proud as well. My own marriage lasted seventeen years and I thought that I deserved a medal. So twenty years is like winning a marathon. Lucy,jr. and Desi,jr. also had good and productive careers and lives. They were a great American family.😊
I love lucy would be on at 2am when i was feeding my newborn and my 3 yr old would watch with me and CRACK UP with laughter. The baby/cheese on the airplane was a favorite.
I have always loved Lucy and still do I would put my dolls down and sit in front of the tv and watch Lucy even though it was in black and white I fell in love with rickey.😃
I Love Lucy... I watch Lucy when I was just a child I know I'm a senior and I still Love Lucy❤. I never ever get tired of them even though they're rerun after rerun they are so heartwarming❤
Desi Jr sounds like his Dad so much only with better English. Also what Lucie Arnaz said from 11:33-11:50 about her parents telling them about their divorce was really sad.
I do love Lucy!! And am grateful that she and her husband Desi were in my life growing up. I'm only sorry that the second half of a marriage to a man she truly loved but could not control, and I think her not being able to control the situation or him drove her to her own emotional change. Looking at her later photos even after her marriage to Gary, her facial expressions always made her look hard it was like a roadmap of her life. Living with an active alcoholic like Desi coupled with the stresses of the studio and others careers, it's unfortunate that to reach out to a program like AA or Al-anon was not as well known and accepted as today. Desi was a genius with loads of moxie and I would view as a passionate man , I can see how she was intoxicated with this roller coaster ride of life with him. I love em ,but I hate him and what he dose to me. There were no more battles, she lost her war but in the end I believe acceptance entered and they were both able to say their final goodbye with sincere love. Thank you for all the beautiful memories ❤
I Love Lucy will be around for many hundreds of years. I watch these little clips on UA-cam and I say I remember this and it never gets tiresome. I remember hearing when Lucy and Desi were going to divorce I was crushed. I felt as if my family was divorcing.
Grew up watching reruns of I LOVE LUCY , i think them being so in love really showed , sad that the last season even tho good you can see they were differNT , but we will always and forever LOVE LUCY
My parents reminded me of Lucy and Desi. My Father was short tempered, dark haired, sicilian, and my Mother was fair, brown haired, blue eyed Irish/Norwegian and they fought a lot. They had six children. Were devout Catholics and never divorced. I remember they'd put us kids to bed by 8:00 PM, turn on I Love Lucy, and we could hear my Dad laughing loudly all the way up to the second story bedroom we slept in.
I love Lucy is my favorite show. My mother and I used to watch it together before I started school. I have the whole series. I never get tired of the episodes.
My childhood city hosted a Lucille and Desi appearance. My Dad talked about it once and said it was pandemonium, in a good way. The theatre was packed for every performance and they ended up coming back because so many weren't able to attend. Funny cause my Dad married my Mom who resembled Lucille Ball. My Mom's name is Lucy also.
LUCY & DEZI IS IN HEAVEN, BACK IN THEIR EARLY 30'S YEARS OLD. LUCY SEE YOU COMING AND LEAN HER SHOULDERS ON A NEARBY WALL ETC AND WATCH YOU GO BY ALL THE WHILE SMILING AT YOU!
It's always sad when a marriage doesn't last. Sometimes it can't, sometimes it shouldn't but we can pretend that Lucy and Ricky stayed married forever. Well, in a way they did.
ALTHOUGH IT WAS MORE EXPENSIVE TO SHOOTING THE FILM USED, DESI DESIDED ON IT. HAD HE NOT WE WOULDN'T HAVE THEM TODAY. THIS FILM LASTED THE OTHER AT THE TIME HASN'T. IT WAS HIS FORSIGHT FOR HISTORY❤
I think that Lucy was a better mother than her daughter gives her credit for. I think we all feel that way, and yet she is portrayed as some control freak by her daughter. Actually, I think her daughter as more of the control freak.
This script was no book ,it was a probably a therapeutic tool ,suggested by Dr Vincent Peele ,an evangelist, Lucy believed in totally and took his advice when she was distressed. He must have advised her to bring out all her angst and trauma about her bad marriage Which is why the tapes stop at the point of her divorce from Desi ,the tool did work ,and there was no need for them any more. But it came in handy to pretend it was a book and publish it and make more money for the heirs
LOL. Yeah, ok. He is the reason why Lucille divorced. Yeah, very charming. His "singing" was like nails on a chalk board. If it was not for Lucille, no one would know who he was.

I was teary and loving it, but honestly the last parts with 60s-9/11 don't belong. Obviously these are personal to you, but please don't title it 50s. Thank you for the memories.
Lucy deserved her success. She worked very hard for it.
She p as id her dues and over came the obstacles.
You bet she did!
You don’t have to be rude to others. No excuses

Amen to that 🙌❤🎉😊

A boomer talking like a Gen Z. “I am crying.” What a clown 🤡
Both Lucie and Desi Jr looked exactly like their father, Lucille Ball was very beautiful and successful Desi was very handsome may they both RIP.
I’m 29 now and still find myself YouTubing I love Lucy episodes. This was the first show I watched when I moved to the US at 7.
I was born in '57 I didn't catch the original broadcast I watched the show in syndication for many years.

Luci Arnez can express herself well.
@marilynwillett804 She has her own life and her own family. Of course she's going to speak about her famous parents in interviews.
True. She has a good marriage, three children, I believe and probably grandchildren, plus an acting career. Keeping her parent's memory alive is only part of the activities she's been involved with.
Yes she can. The apple doesn’t fall from the tree.

Back when Dateline wasn't about just about people being murdered.
Correction: it's about women being murdered by their husbands, boyfriends, etc. Same thing every week, so boring.

Well not always. They often do stories about men, children and teenagers being murdered.

She will never leave us, neither will Desi. I remember watching this at my grandparent's home, wonderful memories.
I don’t usually comment but Lucy’s father was absolutely gorgeous.. explains why she was so beautiful. Beautiful mother as well.

Lucille Ball would have never become famous and legendary without Desi Arnaz, a cuban tv genious, who change american tv forever.
Took them both

My daughter, who is 35 now, loved to watch I Love Lucy reruns starting at age 3. She would giggle and giggle.
Thanks so much for posting this, it is so timely, what with the 70th Anniversary of I Love Lucy and the Aaron Sorkin Movie, Being the Ricardos. 😊

Actually I saw a change in their faces after 1956-57. However, after they divorced and Lucy married Gary Morton - she looked relaxed and at peace.

I bawled like crazy when she died.
Lucy definitely was the queen of comedy... But she also did serious movies... like...Mame
Lured and The Dark Corner A movies - black and white, mystery films

So did I - there are at least 10 -15 movies I really enjoyed before I Love Lucy and after that show. "
At my family we are always reminiscing all the time lol for real!
I always liked the running gag about her hair being dyed and that she was actually a brunette.

ya in 1996 i was 12 and i did get that book and i read it.
I watched a documentry her children put out a couple of years ago and the daughter said she was nothing like she was on i love lucy

Desi's "singing" was HORRENDOUS!!! But I still love Lucy!!!!
His voice fit his songs ..and he was a business man a good one at that ..thankgod Lucy fought for him to be on the show and what a legend it is ❤
I think he sang well. He was so charming it didn't matter much anyway.
