The printshop needs to worry about CMYK, but they can’t do that if they don’t have the right color encoding, right?
Consider that I can go to a local copy centre with my RGB raster and vector files, and get good quality prints on their colour laser; why shouldn’t a print shop do the same?
With the existence of the page editing tool we can finally resize our document pages at our desired size only using the nodes to scaling it instead of just going to the document properties and setting the page size manually by inputting the values of width and height. Also the "fit the pages to the current selection" is more convenient rather than going to document properties to set the document size matching the selection. Thank you for covering this!
Very big improvements to the Inkscape, I'm thrilled! Two minor impruvements: 1. Trim View option for pages - masking of all objects outside the page (as in Illustrator). This is will be a great solution for designers (making of mask is nightmare). 2. Another important improvement would be option to duplicate the page with all the accompanying objects (for now, only a blank page is duplicated). It's time for a new donation to Inkscape ... Thanx
OK, nice, this is what I was searching for. So, actually we can't mask out all those bitmaps etc. that we are using half-on-the-page, half-out-the-page. Sad, 'cause I can't keep multiple pages nicely paired to see the "final spread effect". Also, I loved the new "borders" and "bleeds" automatic guides on the page, and Inkscape can align the pages with the magnetic tools, but I think it's impossible to align the bleed margins. It seems to ignore them.

The Inkscape Project is Free and Open Source, It is also severely underfunded with a very small team. If you can support through code/bug testing or financially do not hesitate to do so‼

I think I speak for one or two of us when I say that if it's one video I need, it's a long one explaining in depth *how* you mentally plan the construction of shapes. In other words, *how* you come up with the algorithm used in a video in the first place. The thinking process, as well as howto develop it. Instead of a "how to do this", a "how to tackle coming up with a way of doing this" video would be appreciated greatly.

OMG finally; I've been using Scribus for a while when working with multiple page PDF documents and... well it sorta works but most of the time I'd prefer Inkscape for the job.

I came up accross ur tutorials 1.5 yrs back.. Its been an worderful experience with inkscape so far. I wish if you could make videos on mesh gradient.. Cause i dont think there are any good tutorial on this. And whatever i have learned, its been pertty basic and i want to learn more.
I wish the Inkscape team would develop the page tool so that we can align & arrange pages more precisely in the future, like how we align objects using the align & distribute panel.
I think it depends on the PDF reader how the pages are displayed. As far as I know it is not possible to adjust in the PDF format itself an offset between individual pages. But yes - during editing such a feature would be cool!
What happens to items outside a page when saving as a PDF. In the past, i have lost those items from the document. I'm downloading the new version now.
When you save as a pdf, only things inside the page counts.. Anything else gets cut out.. A solution is to make copies of the inkscape file that you worked on. Open the desired copy, move things in the main page and save as pdf.. But its all gone now.. Because now we can save without this hassle.
Question - I know it's possible to do hyperlinks with Inkscape although I just grabbed 1.2.2 and have been screwing around with it - Is it possible to attach a hyperlink to an object on 1 page to have it link to a specific page? So if I linked the number 1 in your example, could I link it to page 2? I tried doing this with the hyperlink setting but it didn't work so I figure I'm missing something (I tried putting my named page under the label attribute but no luck)
Just realized i hadn't updated since version .92 haha. But one thing i've noticed sometimes is a laggy experience in inkscape with a relatively simple file (i'm not even sure what should be considered a big file. is 32mb big for an inksacpae file?). I have a laptop with 32 gigs of ram and a good cpu, so it's capable. I know lots of things can affect performance, but i'd love to see a video from you going over some things to keep inkscape running smoothly!

Saved a multi-page PDF today, but the contents of every page was jammed to the left and top of each page (objects relative to each other was okay). I put put a clear 8.5x11 rectangle on the first page and now all pages print to PDF fine. I'm using version 1.2.1 running on Windows 10 which seems to be the latest.

Not sure if its been addressed already but I noticed that Inkscape will error message and crash if you try do delete the default page. Even if you reorder this page it will still crash the project

CMYK is best left to the experts at the print shop. It’s not something that non-technical artists can be expected to understand.

The team is severely under funded, and there's very little help from the outside. If you can code or can support financially, do it.

Yes very useful
You can use Ctrl+Shift+D to do that since forever.
Control + Shift + R is good for that too. That'll resize the canvas to fit whatever object you have selected.

Multi-pages is an excellent feature. Finally I can save different layouts in the same file and navigate between them easily.

Thank you! Is there any way to visualize all pages in a preview? If I have, we say, 150 pages the interface would be very clumsy.
