That being said, I do think that the choice for Squirrelflight to not go to the dark forest was a good one. The bit where Greystripe tells her that she didn’t owe anyone anything-
That ashfur didn’t deserve closure or satisfaction. The concept of her not showing up to see ashfur die was fascinating.
But In the way they wrote Ashfurs actual death it did feel like he didn’t actually get a right punishment for all he did. This is so much more visceral and I enjoy this so much more than what we got.

For real tho, Squilf being the one to end Ashfur sounds more poetic and justified, cuz if u think about it, things started to go downhill for her and her family ever since that fire scene.
To have all the pain he started in the fire, to end with him killed/drowned in water sounds just..ugh I love it
Now I feel like adding more effort to mine in the drafts, been there for months (but instead of plain ashfur, my AU was of him & brramblestar in one body)

Yeah, I made it where Squilf looked at Hollykit, Jaykit and Lionkit and although she knew that the truth had to come out eventually, she didn't expect it to happen so early bc of Ashfur.

Basically at the end of the Place of No Stars arc, Squilf is just exhausted about everything going on and just kills Ashfur instead of the canon ending where Bristlefrost sacrifices herself to kill Ashfur.
