@@StephanieMarieyes, I watched that. Wouldn't miss it. But there are always new foundations coming out. Like the LYS stick foundation. It's a beautiful full medium coverage. My 74' yr old skin loves it
It’s so nice and refreshing to see someone actually explain no makeup makeup. It’s still makeup. It still takes time and steps and multiple products to achieve the look.
Thank you for this video. You are a very beautiful lady, but when you apply makeup ... you look so much nicer with the natural look. I am an older lady ... and need quite a lot of help! But having gotten rather carried away with all the videos on YT now - that promote heavy makeup (maybe to make money!) I am returning to the more natural look ... and culling my makeup bag. We must concentrate more on our skin - than on our makeup.
Very professional and passionate demo for the natural look which seems to be the direction of make up now!! Thank you and appreciate all that you do for us make up lovers!!! P.S. You look great in the natural look!!!!!
Thank you for addressing how long you should wait between skincare and makeup!! It has been a question of mine for a long time and very few people address it.
This truly is a gorgeous look for you. You've definitely inspired me to give this a try. (And for the record, I will ALWAYS watch your foundation videos. Many of them I re-watch and I've also shared them with my girlfriends.)
I think yours is the best no makeup makeup tutorial I've seen. I think that others tend to still rely on makeup to create a natural look rather than paring it right back. I really like your approach and the outcome is so flattering! Thank you so much! ❤
Foundation videos are how I found you & they are the most helpful! Since new foundations & re-formulations are constantly released, I most appreciate updated foundation reviews for mature skin. My skin changes as I age, but also my skin is different at different times of the month and during different seasons of the year. Please please continue foundation reviews!!!
Oh, I'm definitely continuing the regular reviews. It's the TOP foundations videos I'm unsure about. The views on those haven't been stellar, which is telling me you guys may not really care about which ones I think are the best of the best in certain categories and may just be interested in general reviews :)
This is a beautiful natural look. You look beautiful and alive. Thank you for this video. This is a detailed informative video. Thank you, Steph. You’re a wonderful! ❤
I love your videos and the format you use. I stopped looking for a foundation ever since I found the new one from ELF. I’m retired so I rarely wear a lot of makeup anymore. This one works whether I’m just dabbing on a little to run errands or applying a full face for date night. So, long-story short, thanks for helping me find my perfect foundation! 🤩
I still really love your foundation and concealer videos. What I find useful is when you review new products to let us know where they fall within your top 5 or if any make it. When you just say they’re good I want to know how good and if you would actually use them in your rotation. Thank you
I've had the Guerlain foundation for a while but never found myself reaching for it...until this video and I pulled it out this morning. I followed how you showed and it looked so nice!! Thank you!!!
Great video - thank you! As a 52 year old mother of 3 competitive athletes, I spend a lot of time on the sidelines of the football / rugby / soccer fields. I feel overdone with a full face of makeup in this environment and often defer to tinted moisturizer, mascara and lip gloss. I be trying the entire routine tomorrow:) And yes please, top skin like foundation video please!
Thanks for sharing these techniques to get a beautiful, natural look. I haven't tried the brand after I saw another creator do a sponsorship then a year or months later decluttering some of their products. I appreciate you being here for us !
I kind of lost myself in motherhood. Years passed. I noticed that my skin is more mature…. Also, I know there are new products and new techniques… but I have no idea what they are and have used up all my nice makeup I used to use. I have wanted to invest in materials for a new routine, but it has been overwhelming. I found your channel and love it and am feeling much more confident about what to purchase and how to apply. Thanks for the wonderful video!
Personally, I am always interested in your foundation reviews because that’s the biggest makeup challenge for me (because I have multiple skin issues). I can’t speak for others but i wonder if these videos don’t get as much traction now because new foundations are launching at a faster pace than they used to (or at least it seems that way to me).
i’m in my late twenties but love taking makeup advice from people who describe themselves as having mature skin. i prefer a natural look and i think these tips work well for everyone! on the topic of powder, how do you feel about huda beauty’s easy bake compared to the makeup by mario demo’d here? would love to hear your thoughts, tia!

I've tried doing no makeup looks so many times, but I'm such a glam girl that I somehow always wind up wearing glitter/shimmer, LOL! So I'm saving this video to my favorites playlist to watch while doing makeup on those days I try for a no makeup look, because I NEED this tips to keep me in line and stay my hand. (Oh! Is that a new glitter palette over there??? LOL!)
I love this look and love how you took the time to explain each step and how is makes a difference in the final look. My under eyes are my most difficult challenge each day. I like how you put the powder on and then used your damp beauty blender as the end step, I'm going to give that a try. Thank you, you look great!💚
I like to set with powder (if you are looking for an amazing affordable option the Catrice Prime & Fine powder is fantastic) and then lightly spray with setting spray and press with my beauty sponge. It makes the powder really melt into my skin. Everything is well set but doesn't look cakey or overly made up.
I LOVE your foundation reviews and not a lot of content creators make them like you do! I was going to suggest a full-coverage for mature skin roundup since fuller coverage is making a little comeback. I don't wear it daily, but I do love a full-coverage moment 🙂!
I love this video! I also wish I could fix my eye makeup with having to use liner. When I don’t use eyeliner, everyone asks if I’m feeling ok or if I’m tired!
I really like this. What do you think about the newest "no mascara" look? I am 53 and have always had issues with mascara throughout the day, and yes, tubing mascara is a game changer, but I have been trying the no mascara look and it almost makes me look younger? Maybe it's just me but I kind of like the no mess throughout my day!
I know you’ve taken the time to link so much helpful product information (thank you) but I can’t seem to find your recommended makeup mirror. Sorry if I overlooked it, but if I didn’t, will you let us know where to find it? Thanks for your time!
Stephanie.. I've really been interested in the Rephr eyelash curler... do you use 18R or the 20R? My eye are shaped a lot like yours.. I find most curlers (I just bought the Kevin Aucion & its too big) are too big for my eyes... tysm!🩷💐👑 I liveeee this video, it's definitely my style!🥰❤️💄💋😘👏🏻
Do you find the Makeup by Mario setting powder dry for the under eye? My under eyes are dry like yours so I was hesitant to purchase it even though it looks amazing. Would love your thoughts!❤
I like the look but if I’m going to all that trouble (seems like as many steps as makeup-makeup) I’m just going to do makeup with perhaps less eye shadow/lining. But that’s just me.
The right lash curler depends on your eye shape and curve. I've tried A LOT of curlers and ones that have a deeper curve don't suit my eye shape. In order to reach my middle lashes, most of them force me to press the curler towards my eye pretty hard, so the edges push inward. Because the 18R is shorter, I don't have those issues with the edges, but the curve doesn't reach my middle lashes as well as the 20R. 20R is pretty perfect for my eye shape.
I find they get in the way when I film straight down and look longer than they are on camera for some reason?? It's weird. So I'm doing a curtain bang situation right now.
I love your videos but I’m wondering if you have changed the way you edit recently? I don’t usually notice it but in this video it seems like a cut at the end of almost each sentence and feels very jumpy. I often just listen to your videos while I do other things and it got quite distracting once I realised why it sounded a little robotic. I preface this by saying I know nothing about editing, just an avid UA-cam consumer :)
I get it! lol! But think of it this way - using readers to see up close makes the words clearer, it doesn't make them scary big (unless you want them that magnified!). Because our vision becomes more far sighted with age, using a mirror to see your face has the same principle. You'll see your face clearer yes, but it's not the same as if you did it when you were 25. If you use readers regularly to see up close and you're not using something to see your makeup better too, then chances are you're probably not blending or doing something the way you should be.
ok, I've only gotten 2 mins into your video... but... a previous video of yours said to wait 10 mins for moisturizer or primer to set before applying. Now you're saying 15-20 mins? Who has this kind of time in the morning? What is your routine when waiting this long? Ie: what do you do for 20 mins while you wait? sigh...
You're referring to letting sunscreen settle into your skin before applying makeup. Don't shoot the messenger. I didn't make this stuff up - it's a best practice to wait several minutes. You want your sunscreen to be fully absorbed so that your primer or foundation (whatever makeup you apply first) applies nicely over it and wears well throughout the day. You can put lotion on your body, do some of your hair, get dressed, pour a cup of coffee, lots of things. sigh back at ya...
@@StephanieMarie thanks for your response. Sorry if I was short with my comment. I’m just so frustrated with how my makeup doesn’t stay put. I watched a few of your videos before and tried a couple different techniques and it seemed to work and now it’s not again. So frustrating ☹️
@@amyphoto113 No worries. Try waiting after your last skincare step if you haven't been. And if you wear primer AND foundation, wait 1-2 minutes after applying only a small amount of primer before applying foundation. (Do some of your eyes during that time.) Also make sure your primer and foundations have similar bases. If one of the first several ingredients is a silicone (you can google to see what the actual silicones are - they usually end in cone or xane), but the other one is water based or oil based and has no silicones, that could be part of your issue. Set with something - sheer powder and/or setting spray if you need. Hope that helps!
Niacinamide is the most irritating ingredient and I am so sick of companies putting it in literally everything ! This makeup is ok for off days but normal days ..I don’t like the term no makeup makeup anyway - when you apply all the things but in a lighter version. Just say “I’m putting on light makeup “ same thing. 😂
It's actually very soothing, brightening, calming, hydrating, and wonderful for the skin barrier for the majority of people when the proper amount is used. It also has anti-inflammatory properties. As with many products, a small percentage of people are sensitive to it. Yes, the purpose of this video was for days like that. We can get wrapped up on what to call it I suppose. But people are usually online searching for "no makeup makeup", so that's where I landed.
No point in listening either apparently? 🤦🏼♀️ Literally right before I mentioned BP, I clearly stated I was using various brands and products throughout the video. Not including brushes/tools, I used TWELVE makeup brands in this video and gave some affordable options as well.
Hi Kathleen. This is a how-to video in which you can use whatever you want or have already. You've commented on several of my videos, sharing your distaste when I use and review/share high-end products. I share products at all price points because I have a wide variety of viewers who enjoy products at all price ranges on different budgets. As much as you dislike high-end makeup, not everyone likes drugstore makeup. I personally enjoy testing and reviewing products at all price levels, so that's what I do. Although I do regular drugstore, dupes, and Amazon videos, and give drugstore options in many videos, I never claimed to be a drugstore-only channel. So I may not be the right channel for you. There are channels focused solely on drugstore products that you would perhaps enjoy more than mine.
@@StephanieMarie Perhaps you are right. So, I unsubscribed. But, it is a youtube video, and this is the comments section. I will continue to review videos and make comments that express my opinion whenever I like.
@@kathleendudek2955 You absolutely have the right to comment on any UA-cam video as negatively as you want, whenever you like. Just like channel owners can manage their channels how they see fit by deleting comments or blocking viewers so their comments go into the void to be seen by no one but themselves, so they're talking to the wind.
No - this is, in fact, a no makeup makeup look. There's always confusion when it comes to no makeup makeup. No matter who does it (even Lisa Eldridge) always gets comments like this. It's harder to achieve TRUE skinlike, naked-face looking makeup than you think and often involves greater technique because you're trying to fool people that you naturally look better than you do. Sure you can actually wear next-to-none, but that still leaves many of us looking tired and drab. To look more awake and vibrant, it takes more steps and blending than when you go out with a full beat on. I hope that helps.
Nice backhanded compliment 🙄I have a normal rate of speech. Perhaps your player was slowed down. The way I speak doesn't bother my other viewers & isn't different than other videos I just compared it with. You can speed up your video player if the it's so distracting for you.

What size eyelash curler would you recommend from that brand? I have never used it before, but I would like to buy one.

But people are usually online searching for "no makeup makeup", so that's where I landed.
Soz no point watching BP doesnt deliver 2 Au...
No point in listening either apparently? 🤦🏼♀️ Literally right before I mentioned BP, I clearly stated I was using various brands and products throughout the video. Not including brushes/tools, I used TWELVE makeup brands in this video and gave some affordable options as well.
Why is it called no makeup makeup. She uses a bunch of costly makeup
Listening to the intro helps :)
Sigh, you're using so many products that cost 30 to 40 dollars each! why?
This is a full makeup routine. Maybe a different name?
No - this is, in fact, a no makeup makeup look. There's always confusion when it comes to no makeup makeup. No matter who does it (even Lisa Eldridge) always gets comments like this. It's harder to achieve TRUE skinlike, naked-face looking makeup than you think and often involves greater technique because you're trying to fool people that you naturally look better than you do. Sure you can actually wear next-to-none, but that still leaves many of us looking tired and drab. To look more awake and vibrant, it takes more steps and blending than when you go out with a full beat on. I hope that helps.
Ienjoy watching your videos but you speak so slow like your speaking to a child too distracting
Nice backhanded compliment 🙄I have a normal rate of speech. Perhaps your player was slowed down. The way I speak doesn't bother my other viewers & isn't different than other videos I just compared it with. You can speed up your video player if the it's so distracting for you.
Good advice but talk a bit much
I could just stare at the camera silently, but that’s not very helpful is it? 🤔🤣
