Thanks for this! Mind power is an awesome force! I've learned this skill from you and it's been helping so much! Thanks for calling it a skill, that helps me remember that learning new skills can be exhausting and I catch myself feeling sad when I smoke without giving it much thought. I love your videos, I always learn something knew or im reminded of a strategy I forgot about along the way. I feel even closer to being a happy non smoker; this video helped me see that I still have some wrong beliefs about smoking. I'm down to 4 a day and my quit date is Feb 5th! I find myself feeling like I'm trying to hold onto the last 2 or 3 even though I know that's my craving mind! Did you experience cravings like that or did you just toss them put once you got to barely any a day? I'm trying to make sure I'm super prepared to focus on the physical withdrawal without too much mental addiction getting in the way. Am I overdoing it? Absolutely would love to hear your thoughts and thanks so much for all the help youve been to me!

Hello! Yes, you can dismiss those craving thoughts but first check if they come from a false belief about smoking and what it offers you. If you're trying to hold onto your last 2-3 cigarettes, try to think what about those cigarettes you want/need or what you think you'll miss if you went down to zero tomorrow. Your answers will point you towards what you need to do to prepare before you quit smoking. Let me know if this answered your question :)

@@CBQMethod Yes! That was very helpful and I did have a false belief around those last few cigs, it was an emotional need unmet...the belief that smoking having me a sense of security in life and to toss out the last ones would be terrifying IF that belief were true! But it's not and I see the false belief tied to smoking. I dont need or want cigarettes for security!

I had same problem. Got down to one at night and didn't want to let that go. It was like I was still hanging on to them. Finally I let go and have been smoke free for a week and a half. Praying I never smoke again. Good luck to you.

I think, for me, smoking has mistakenly represented personal autonomy and control. A right of passage. A feeling of self-determination.
It is, of course, a lie. And I am just now, after 55 years, learning to face that vanity. Thank you.

It is incredible what you can do with mindpower. Everyone has the ability to use mindpower. You just have to learn how to use it. It’s a powerful tool you can use to overcome any habit or addiction - not just smoking/vaping.
I’m glad to have discovered and learned how to use mindpower by becoming a CBQ Method member. Im 10 months free of my addiction and I’ve always referred to my quit as the EASIEST thing I THOUGHT I could never do!

I'm not a smoker, but the idea of applying this to dieting sounds like it could work. Like instead of saying this cigarette will not make me relaxed, maybe word it in your head by not smoking I am building my healthiest, and strongest self which will support me better in dealing with any other outside stress. Maybe have some mantras ready to say during the situation, of something you can buy into.

This explains willpower very well, but I’m still not clear on what EXACTLY mindpower is. Can someone describe what it is in a sentence or two?
I hear and understand what willpower is not, and why willpower doesn’t work, but what ***is*** mindpower? How specifically do you “dissolve all your thoughts”? How do you “lower the perceived value of smoking”?
Or maybe someone can show me the time stamp where she says what it IS in this video? I’ve listened 4 times and for some reason all I am hearing is why willpower doesn’t work, which I already agree with. i would love to know what to do instead!

At 3 min in to this video I'm still hearing about will power. I don't have the will power to keep listening to the long video to get the answer to mind power. I need the short video.

Ok the answer comes after 8 minutes into the video. A long 8 minutes. Coffee and a cigarette helped. I think the only way to develop mind power is scripture study and praying. Even Jesus had to pray 3 times to receive help onn his last night of freedom
