Funny thought, one episode I could’ve thought I seen you wearing a landscaper hoodie. Did ya see the back yard? Lol , and. It amazes me you can plate that truck and run it. West coast is so fortunate.
@dannym3078 haha all landscaping was done by doing donuts and running over scrap cars. These rigs won't so hardly any street driving. But doesn't take much to make them streetable if wanted
Needs a detachable tailgate or something made up that looks like a tailgate would really finish off the back of it and make it look a lot better. That’s just my personal opinion and taste though. It came out nice though been watching this get built up for a while.
Agreed a tailgate would tie it in but he didn't have a tailgate and wanted to do a rear panel so that's the route we went with. I personally like no bedsides better but it all flows nice
Killer build! Quick question, with the lower coil mount inline with the axle, are you worried about them bending or breaking if it gets stuck on a rock or anything?
Thanks! I have ran coilover mounts in a lot of different ways. In line with the axle perpendicular. In front and behind the axle. I personally would be more worried about having coilover itself get bent hanging off the rear of the axle and accidentally backing into it than brackets moving on top of the axle. Fully boxed in would take a lot of force to move that mount
@CM_FAB my personal build sits at 18 in belly hieght with 8 inches of uptravel coilovers just mount higher on the chassis side. Ran the coilover brackets wrapping the axle tube off the back dropping it lower previously and hit them quite a few times so moved them to the top. Also all a matter of packaging
@ my Toyota has about 4” of travel and sits about 6” off the ground but the next thing I build for myself I want to do similar to yours. Lower cg with lots of down travel. I need to get into the 4wd stuff Texas is just so flat.
Thing is sick for sure, but I like your truck better. Something about a smashed up body looks legit to me. You ever weigh any of these truggy builds you’ve made?
Haha thanks. I am biased but like mine better also. Yes I weigh everything with corner scales. Actually made a post on the socials seeing if people wanted to guess. But it was around 4750 when it came into the shop
@@kreyzfab Thanks, that's not a terrible weight I guess. I was reading forums, etc. and people posting truggies and fully-caged unibody XJ's weighing like close to 5500-6000. I'm torn between going nuts on my Grand Cherokee and just keeping it lighter with the 35's on it now. Don't really want to end up with a 6K lb pig! The practical side of my brain says get a tube chassis and start from there but something about chopped up mini-trucks and unibody jeeps just have a cool factor to them.
@christopheresper6144 it left the shop at 3936 so lost quite a bit of weight through this build process. My rig weighs right at 4k currently. The next build is will try to show a lot more of the process since it will be an entire build. It will stay a bit more streetable than mine is and will weigh it at the end to see. Then the following build is going to be full tube chassis using a toyota cab
Awesome build! Been watching since the beginning of the build amd you got skills brother. Gave me some good ideas
@@dstrickler20 appreciate it!
Sweet how to build a rockcrawler series. I'll come back as I continue working on mine.
I want my Yota to look like this, when it grows up.
Damn nice work!🤠👌👏
Looooove it! 😎. Keep em coming. Best fabricator on here 😎.
Thanks! Idk about that haha still lots to learn but lots more projects coming!

@ ah ok that makes sense. I build stuff a lot lower where a rock would do way more damage haha. But I want to build something like this one day!
