You CAN get a chase car to drive around instead of the truck. I'm using one right now to go around to the photo points after leaving my truck in Scottsbluff

The closest free roam mod is TruckersMP, but then you'll be driving with other players. The good news is that you don't see them a whole lot unless you are in a major city
