I believe what this requires is spacial awareness which I have none of and amazon doesn't sell it. So, thanks, Tom. This guide/training camp is brilliant.
rip. The main thing to remember with fights like these is that they're not really DPS checks in the story - so it's totally fine to actually stop attacking the boss now and then in order to concentrate on not dying. That said even if you died it's not the most challenging content in the game so I wouldn't worry about 'letting the team down'.
This fight melts my brain. I live in constant dread of it popping up in roulette. It still melts my brain after watching this, but yours is the best explanation I have seen of how to deal with it. I feel like, armed with this, I could actually improve...if I was masochistic enough to spam this fight enough.
Thanks Kim! Spamming fights is for sure quite effective. At least I have to spam each of these quite a few times to make the guides but I always feel like I have them pretty nailed by the time I'm done, and it's a great feeling to have one fewer Trial that stops my heart when it appears in the roulette. You can do it!
Your guides are absolutely the very best FFXIV tutorials. I never used to feel so prepared for a fight until I found your channel. Please keep doing these!!! 👏👏👏
Nice. I think for a mechanic like this it can definitely help to get to practice. At least when I did this for the first few times I was pretty thrown by the mechanic (I could never remember did I move or the aoe).
I'm the only one who took damage during the first stack-up and I was right in the middle with everyone else. The training camp at the end of the vid was very helpful.
The training camp was awesome! I already completed the trial but it helped me a lot for those times when it show up on the roulette, I'll try to learn the stars patterns now
I must say that as a casual, mostly MSQ only player this trial sure seems more difficult than all the ones that came before..to me at least. This is the first time I've had to watch a guide 3 times to finally feel like I'm maybe ready, lol.
Yeah there are a lot of mechanics but taken one at a time they're all quite easy (except that room spin one as that catches people out a lot). To be honest this is probably the most complicated trial before the end of 6.0 so if you nail this things will be _slightly_ easier going forward.
Thanks, it was a great help. This is the first time the group wiped and it felt like quite a few players didn't understand like half the mechanics of this fight, especially the rotating arena. Before that, a way to deal with mechanics was standing where everyone else was, but not this time. Quite frequently players got hit because they did just that. We cleared on second try, though, so not too bad.
My dude you know that explaining the rules can often require more time than the game itself right? Especially explanations designed to give any new player the ability and confidence to clear these more complicated encounters - but If you want the short version: Engage the boss > avoid his mechanics > kill the boss. Also the guide part of the video is about 9:30m long and recordings of the encounter for this video at the time ranged from 8-10 mins long so we're on the money if that's what you care about 👍
Weeelll, yeah. In fairness the boss here is quite a big deal so it might be a bit anticlimactic if it was just a basic encounter. For sure though there are a lot of mechanics which I can see being off-putting for more casual story enjoyers. The good thing is that far and beyond no one cares if you screw up and cause a couple of wipes, especially if it's your first time. If you're nervous about an encounter like that you can just drop a message in the chat and let people know you're still learning the fight. Almost everyone I've encountered either won't care at all, or will offer help. Not seen any rage myself in these.

This is the best guide for Dark Inside. Especially the training camp part. It's help me a lot. Thank you Tom Scott!!
Hey nice one, glad to hear training camp was useful 🎉

Thanks for putting in the extra effort for the Astral Flow “training camp”! Very helpful, and it’s more than most guide creators would do.
Hey no worries. Yeah I thought it might be helpful to practice that mechanic a little so good to hear it was worth the time doing 💪
If the first constellation of Astral Eclipse actually can be something other than the sideways Z then I call bullshit on the RNG gods.
That training camp was really useful. Thanks!

Watching this right before queuing for my first time and oh good, my brain's melted. Here's hoping it goes well in practice. Thanks much!
Update: did it :D
Nice one, grats 🎉
Amazing guide. Happy to see you back to FFFXIV and EW!
Cheers my dude!
Thanks for this guide! I thoroughly appreciated not only the description but the careful zoom-ins on the telegraph markers with examples.
Cheers, and no worries! Glad to hear the graphic stuff was useful 😁
Your guide gives me faith. Thank Haydelin for your training camp!
Nice one, glad it helped!

Maybe the others had shields 🤔
Good to hear the training camp came in handy tho!
One of the better guides I've seen. Good job! Training camp was awesome as well!
First time doing it. It was very challenging, but your guide allowed me to complete it by our 2nd try. TYVM for this video!!!
Nice, good job! And no worries :)
Thank you so much for this. The training camp helped a LOT.
I didn't get pushed off the edge of the platform, but I did accidentally run off the edge, so there's that.
Great guide though :)
Smart. Can't get pushed off the platform if you're not on the platform 🧠
The training camp was awesome!

Nice, I'm happy to hear it was worth me doing 🙌

@@TomScottDoesStuff yeah I nailed it yesterday. didn't die at all on my first run :) thanks
Nice, good job 🥳

Yeah that rotating mechanic can be hit or miss when following the crowd. You got it down though so GG 👍
Awesome ! Thanks for the training camp ! It is a funny mini game !
No worries, glad it helped!
I'm trying to get the spinning mechanic down to tackle EX and the training camp is incredibly useful. Thank you!
Nice one, good luck!
Excellent work as always.
Thanks Crypto 🎉
amazing guide, +loved the training camp! thanks a bunch :)
Thank you Tom for the fab guide. Really helpful.
I'm too stoned to do this
best guide of this one, ty!
🎉
In astral flow training camp ...let's just say....uh oh.
🪦 f
This was hell, omfg lol.
"Pop a limmi" sent me
This is in fact what all of the coolest kids regularly say right?
@@TomScottDoesStuff At least I will from now on
there's so many mechanics i just fall asleep halfway through the video and decide to fling myself at the fight
why is there a 12 minute guide for a 5 minute normal content fight wtf

Good grief. The man does this to help us, and there are a dozen mechanics and they are complex.
I prefer tank and spank. Why does this game have so many unnecessary mechanics?

Cheers! Glad to hear the training camp was useful too 💪
