    I once had a run where I got perk lottery, fire immunity and explosion immunity in the first holy mountain. After 30 seconds in 2nd biome I found a chest with a wand that had always cast nukes on it and I thought that it was the luckiest run I would ever have.

    After shooting the nuke couple of times and marveling how everything just disappeared, a big chunk of rock fell on me from above and killed me.

      i found a always cast circle of vigor energy ball wand in the mines once. Suffice it to say, i died 30 seconds later to idontevenrememberwhat. Still, i have to admit, Noita is the greatest game ever created. I hate it.

    Not gonna lie, when I first heard of Noita years back, I also thought it sucked and wondered how the F could people even enjoy the masochistic experience that stems from an unfair game where you die 90% of the time from things outside of your control.
    But now I understand that you actually have more control than you realise, and the fun comes from the exploration aspect of the game. Experimenting, learning, discovering everything, from the common layouts to the enemies' behaviour, to what spells actually do and how to get advantage of them, to hidden secrets, to lore... It's a deadly toy-box I can't wait to play with, to sate my curiosity, because every time I fuck around and die, I also find out something new. And it boggles my mind that TO THIS DAY there are still things in the game that the whole community together has been trying to crack open for YEARS and still haven't been solved, it's so damn fun.

  • @surr3ald3sign

    My favorite bit of advice for new players, remember that every pixel is simulated and filled with the desire to end your life, the game does not fight fair so neither should you. In order to get your first "win" (no spoilers ofc) you have to fight back in the same dirty way the game fights, abuse mechanics you figure out, try to cheese any and every single enemy, use liquids to your advantage, the terrain. Just remember that no matter how strong you are, it only takes 1 pixel to change that and force you to restart again. I had a 4 hour long run doing one of the secrets and i died to, i shit you not, a single pixel of polymorph turning my into a sheep as an enemy shot me in the same exact moment, we in the community call this nearly entirely unavoidable death getting "Noita'ed" and its a repeatable canon event

    • @Willimann
      @Willimann 3 дні тому

      best part is, its entirely possible to be immune to literally all damage through enough stainless armor, but a small pink pixel still got enough power to wipe the floor with our polymorphed body

    Ive played every roguelike from slay the spire to deadcells to crab champions. Noita is the only roguelike to ever break me and push me to the limits of my gaming skill, after a few hundred hours i can confirm that "it sucks and you should buy it" it will be your best nightmare and your favorite form of suffering, idk how but the game is simultaniously the most frustrating AND enjoyable experience ive ever got out of a game, the frustration just somehow works in the games favor, it feels like a challenge which ofc is a wonderfully effective psychology trick to get you to keep trying

    • @reeses7839
      @reeses7839 4 місяці тому +3

      The thing that keeps me coming back is the euphoria of that God run. It's not some piss baby God run like in other Roguelikes, where you can still likely die with a lack of luck or a mishap.
      Risk of Rain? Still can get one shot.
      Slay the Spire? Could draw poor, or otherwise encounter something that invalidates your current style.
      Dead Cells? It's fairly low power as it is, and sometimes shit just goes wrong.
      But Noita? That God run is pure absurdity. In a game where you start with 100 HP, 300 *million* of it should feel like a modding fantasy, a fantasy. That ten billion damage wand idea should feel so implausible to get everything together for that you just never will in any reasonable amount of time. The final boss feels like the stuff of legends.
      But that first time you hit a God run in stride, everything just clicks. And it's only uphill from there. It feels so earner to claw your way from the Mines into the true true endgame quests, murdering bosses and flying around the map at lightning speeds. There really and genuinely is nothing quite like it.

      @@Liamrups Naw, he wrong. That tablet is actually just a troll. The text on the tablet reads "The sacrifice of oneself to the pursuit of knowledge Is the highest tribute to the gods." The Noita devs outright knew people would go up into that little chute of water, see that, and die because they wouldn't be able to get out without drowning LOL
      Now there are a ton of secrets in Noita, and one piece of friendly advice from a long time player? Don't feel bad about reading the wiki, looking at maps, or watching guide videos. Noita was DESIGNED with crowdsourcing from the community to find and figure out it's secrets and those secrets are so well designed that not one but TWO secrets, up to this day are still unsolved. We haven't figured them out. And there's just a ton of information in the game that isn't even hinted at, so without reading or watching content of the game, there's a very high likelihood that you'll never know about it.
      Normally I try to avoid spoilers from games, but Noita is literally, just built different.

      @@Liamrups I wish it was easier to explain how deep this rabbit hole goes. Nobody has even made it to the bottom yet and it’s been years. Plus, now the game is getting updated again. It’s ridiculous lol.

    Your video somehow ended up in my recommended, and for such a small channel this video is really well made. As someone who only beat the "final" boss after 37 hours, I can confirm Noita sucks, but is a good game. 👍
