If i wanted to do an adults version how many stitches would i need and would it be the same pattern to finish it off?
Kettle 1210 Cast on 128 sts, rib K2, p2 for about 5 cm but you can make it however long you want, stockinette St until your work measures about 15 cm but take in to account how long your rib was. Your decreases should start from K14, K2tog. Your hat should be 27 cm tall or more to fit an adult head.
If you use a chunky yarn and bigger needles you can follow the pattern exactly shown in this video and it should fit an adult.
*Note* This is an untested pattern

Can u please let me know, for 7... 8 yr old boy what is the no.of kitting needle according to (Indian)standard? 3or 4 ply can be used. Which ply wool to be used? How many stitches to be casted? I want to make for my grandson who stays in Delhi and I stay in Pune. Can I knit this hat in the round
Yes you can. Just knit on the knits and purl on the purls when ribbing. When you create the body, knit fully or purl fully (will be inside out) only up until the decrease. If you knit fully then decrease in knit ie knit 10, k2tog, to the end of the row then knit the next row then k9, k2tog etc… if you purl fully switch it all to p10, p2tog, to the end of the row, then purl the next row then p9, p2tog etc…
