Imma subscribe to every badminton channel because i admire there dedication to make videos about badminton even if this sport isn't really popular compare to basketball, volleyball etc. So good job
It means u might be changing racket too often. And also it could be because u don’t hit with proper b4 and after form. Hit with control and don’t be scared, be confident in ur shot can help too. Hope this helps
Your timing is either to early or slow, try hitting shots just slightly earlier than you would and if that makes it worse then just slightly later than you would normally
Can you make a video on how to gauge the shots properly or have better hand eye co-ordination for very high shots, thanks. If it's possible to also make a video on how to do slices and reverse slices?
Very informative video. Thanks a ton. I am not sure which grip to use when trying to smash a shuttle which is directly above my head. I can very well play a neat smash using basic forehand grip when I am able to get behind the shuttle, but using the same forehand grip results in a weak smash when shuttle is above my head, one of the reasons I can think is because of less time my forearm doesn't get time to fully pronate. Does this mean there is a different grip for this situation? Please help.
Sir I like playing Badminton very much. I watch videos from your UA-cam channel and practice in the drawing room at home the song techniques you teach like jump smash, slice, drop shot, back hand clear, footwork. My question is, I practice alone in the drawing room. How much time a day should I practice footwork and shots so that I can become good at badminton and win all games!!! Note that I want to learn Badminton as a hobby. Not as a profession. Because I took Maths in Honors 2nd year I am over aged. Your valuable opinion aunty dear sir
We have a brand new training program on our new site Badminton Famly+ for just $2.99/month. Check out the site on plus.badmintonfamly.com👍🏻 Other vise remember the rotation in your body and in the forearm😉
How do you decide to do a full swing (which can become drive, clear, drop or kill) or use short stroke (finger power)? You probably would say speed of approaching shuttle, but we can only choose one. A better question is, why not always use short stroke (finger power) instead of swing...what are its limitations?
It depends on the situation. The soft swing is more precise and relaxed and without using to mich energy, where the shots with finger power is more explosive, bit also more physical.
What sort of grip is that on your racket? It seems rougher than usual one and I’ve seen pros use similar grips. I wear grips down very quickly and have very sweaty hands so am wondering would that grip type help? Thanks
Coach, I have a doubt: Which is better, Towel Grip or Normal grip and will Using towel grip make the racket heavier than normal, will it be comfortable???🤔
So the indexfinger is in the way to create more power. Why is it that we do have the index finger up when we hit backline shots? Couldn't you use the finger power on top of the rotational arm movement to generate even more power?
When you push to the grip the index finger “slides” down along the grip so you can tighten more around the grip, but the index finger is still important in order to play precise.
Thomas sir,i have observed that my opponent earns his 80 percent points by my negative shots and 20 percent by his good shots, pls can you pls help me to reduce my negatives by atleast 60 percent.pls reply
This is not the most efficient way to generate finger power. Hold the racket loosely so that there is space between the handle and your palm. Then use your last two fingers (pinkie and ring finger) to pull in and rotate the racket, your thumb (forefinger for forehand) is then used to guide and accelerate the racket further before making the shot. The initial acceleration is more powerfully generated by your last 2 fingers as they placed lower along the racket grip and there is more power to overcome racket inertia in a pulling rather than a pushing action. You don't have to believe me, try it yourself and discover.
Fingers are to transfer power from the forearm and the wrist. Also fingers are mostly for accuracy, precision and deception. Power comes from the wrist, the forearm and the shoulder.
@@BadmintonFamly but my coach taught me to put the index finger in the same height as the thumb. Do you think it is wrong? Cause I am so confusing right now😂 but thanks anyway
This is one of a kind video on a technique which is ignored by many players and will definitely help me to improve my game. Thanks
Can we have a similar video on how to use the fingers in a straight overhead forehand shot such as the clear and/or smash?
Awesome tip. Thanks, Thomas & team. Your passion and genuine desire to help players really shows in your videos. #100

Please make a video on how to strong hands for powerful smash and toss
Thanks so much coach. Very helpful
I appreciate that you're trying to eliminate "actually" as using it tends to inflate the banality of the word. Good lesson BTW.
Haha thanks 😆
Loved your video 💞
Question: What to do if the shuttle sometimes or rather frequently hits the frame of the racquet?
means ur trash so go and train
It means u might be changing racket too often. And also it could be because u don’t hit with proper b4 and after form. Hit with control and don’t be scared, be confident in ur shot can help too. Hope this helps

I actually liked this. Liked the concept of fingers generating power enough to avoid using the arm.
Coach can you do another video on this same fingerpower
excellent explanation
Great tips!!
Thanks a lot👌🏻

The reason is you should hit a stick smash when the shuttle is above you.
Also use a hammer grip

Its a normal “soft” grip, just a bit used and dirty🤣🤣
Which string you have used in your astrox racket?
In this video it is BG80🤩
Sir am using astrox 39 new racket I want to change the string.plz recommend me which string should be use 🤔😊
BG80 is always a good choice👌🏻
Coach, I have a doubt: Which is better, Towel Grip or Normal grip and will Using towel grip make the racket heavier than normal, will it be comfortable???🤔
I use towel grip, and yes a few grams more heavy👏🏻
Can you plz make a video on how to put a towel grip
With loose fingers doesn't the racquet become unsteady in the hand?
No it should be comfortable and have that nice smooth feeling on the grip😁
hi can I know what racket are you using in this video?
YES its Yonex Astrox 88D
The racket should not be in palm right before using the fingerpower ? just hold in finger only ?
Yes and no, i like ro hold it loose in my palm before using finger power👌🏻
it's actually amazing
Thanks 😄
Badmintonfamly plus website is not working properly.Resolve this issue as early as possible
Hey, what is wrong with the site? Everything is working fine here where i am👍🏻
Your racket is Astrox 88D
Yes🤘🏻
Thanks i like IT
Sounds good 💪🏻
what about finger power when smashing? I have a tendency to hold on to the grip tight (not very tight) before going through the smash motion.
That is correct, the finger power is also really important when smashing👍🏻
Great help thanks for sharing. Can you please do a video how to wrap a badminton racket
Your welcome 😉 Good idea we also have been talking about, will try to make a video about that for a future release... Thomas

That was actually pretty good! 😜 Well, all your videos usually are - keep up the good work!

good tutorial
Thanks 👍🏻
Does finger power also use the wrist? So is it also wrist power taking place?
Yes a Little bit, and also rotation in the arm. Maybe watch our wrist movement video on our channel 👌🏻
Bliver i noglegange genkendt i Danmark? (For eksempel imens i handler)
Nogle gange ja😉

Which badminton racket do you have?
Astrox 88D👌🏻
Haha love the bloopers.
What badminton do you use
You mean racket? The Yonex Astrox88D💪🏻
Good camera angles generally on your videos....Credit to the camera man....
Thanks you so much, the angles is very important💪🏻👌🏻
hi sir Thomas, how old are you sir?
41😉
Astrox 88D awesome!!
Yep really good👌🏻
Please do a vid explaining every rule on court
And coach, what racket are you using, and your grip?
Towel grip, its Astrox 100ZX now👍🏻
I notice when i start using fingerpower on forehand, my thumb end up higher than my index, is this correct?
Depends on what stroke you do. A flat push in the backhand with thumb power the thumb will end higher up, so it is different in each stroke 🤩

Finger power, it's very good
yeah very well said!😊👌💕that's what I did last time to trick my opponent hahaha
For whatever reason its easier for me to generate finger power with on my forehand compared to my backhand side. Guess I'm kinda weird.
Wow!😍
Love from Philippines💓
Love from Denmark 🇩🇰
I thought forehand grip should be your 2nd (middle) joint of your index finger that is the pivot point.
