Very impressive videos. I have watched these repeatedly and learned a lot from you. Thanks for producing these!
Thank you! I hope to produce more here in the next coming months provided work lets up!
I wish you would post more 🙏
Awesome video, I'd be interested in an explanation of the whole process as you do it. It's a much different process than I thought it would be!
A lot of people dont realize just how much work goes into it! Its a lot of work to make tutorial type videos, and do taxidermy work, but Ill do my best to do that with future videos!
@@zstaxidermy1497 I completely understand, this time lapse video was great. Hope to see some more of them in the future, thanks for sharing your work!
Where’s part2!???!?!
sorry for the wait, some files have gotten corrupted! So Im working on a work around to help continue, should be out soon!
what solution did you use on the fins? and alsowhat type of solution did you use on the tanning process?
For the tanning solution, I used 50% Denatured alcohol and 50% water in a 5 gallon bucket. For the fins for the drying process I just use plastic sheeting you get in the craft aisle and a thin plastic called Acetate. Yhen once the fish is dry I just used a fin backing material and mod podge, That process is shown in Part 2
What do you use for the fill in the eyes and head cavity?
All it is, is paper mache you can buy in most craft stores.
where can i buy borax?
is it ok to remove the fins? i got a fish that i been working on
Borax is your basic laundry detergent base, you can get it in your laundry aisle in most and many supermarkets. You can remove the fins but itll be a waste of time trying to put them back in their natural position.
